FINEST & RAREST TEQUILA
The foundation of Komos XO is elemental: handmade, double pot-distilled tequila. The agave is hand-harvested from both the Highlands and Lowlands of Jalisco to increase the complexity of the blanco tequila base. Through an exacting and complex aging process, our tequila is then aged in American oak bourbon barrels and French oak red and white wine barrels. Throughout this process, only the very best barrels are selected. Each barrel is completely unique, and individually assessed over time, with the youngest barrels aging for a minimum of three years and the oldest aging for up to 11 years. At the exact right moment, we take the tequila out of the barrels and transfer it to Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks. These casks are specifically selected to highlight the beauty created thus far while also building upon it further, thereby creating deeper flavor and refinement. The result is a varied and beautiful tapestry that only the finest craftsmanship can achieve.

MASTERFUL BLENDING
The result of this meticulous approach is a tequila that has taken on a symphony of complexity, beauty, and most importantly, a patina that only time can provide. LABEL INSPIRATION
The third release of the Booker's® Bourbon 2023 Collection is Booker's Batch 2023-03 "Mighty Fine Batch." This batch is named in honor of the signature phrase my dad, Booker Noe, used to compliment anything he approved of - from his namesake bourbon to his country ham. If you knew Booker, then you knew "mighty fine" was his go-to phrase. He would often get together with other folks in the bourbon industry to taste samples of Booker's Bourbon, and everyone knew he was happy with his selection when he sipped it and said it was "mighty fine," followed by, "that's a damn good batch!". Shortly before Dad passed away in 2004, I selected the barrels for a Booker's Bourbon batch for the very first time. I was a little nervous at first; I had big shoes to fill. After tasting the sample I shared with him, he looked at me and said, "Mighty fine job, son." A lot of people thought it was one of the best batches, but receiving Dad's vote of confidence made it that much more special for me. I'll never forget that moment. Booker was not one to embellish his compliments with many descriptive words, but I have a feeling he would say this batch is mighty fine. I hope you think so too.

To celebrate its 50th Anniversary, Tres is offering a unique liquid to pay homage to Don Francisco Javier Sauza’s original recipe, which he crafted in honor of three generations of family distilling. APPROACH: The Frank August ‘Case Study’ Program is a reflection of our intention to reconsider and evolve the identity of bourbon whiskey. Within each release, we will explore various finishing and blending techniques to create some of the most unique experimental expressions of bourbon whiskey in the world.

EXPRESSION: For the foundational release of ‘Case Study’, Frank August hand-selected 5 barrels to be finished with Mizunara, Japanese Oak. Due to the porous nature of Mizunara, each of the 5 barrels was tested every 30 days to monitor the development of the flavor profile that was being impacted by this rare and beautiful wood. After an undisclosed time, the flavor profile evolved into a beautiful bend of butterscotch and baking spices. At this time, the bourbon whiskey was dumped and batched to preserve the wonderful notes that were created.  The final step was to find the perfect proof that highlighted all the remarkable notes that the Mizunara had imparted on the bourbon whiskey, which ended up being 114.4 proof / 62.2 ABV%.

APPEARANCE: A rich amber with discerning legs that cover your glass.

NOSE: Frank August’s Case Study: 01 | Mizunara opens with an initial note of butterscotch before some mild rye spices make their way forward.

PALATE: There’s an immediate warm, smooth, butterscotch profile that hits the front of your tongue, before slowly moving toward the mid-palate, where notes of apple and mild spices begin to pick up. As the whiskey coats the mouth and moves to the back of your tongue, there are hints of mint and pepper, before notes of butterscotch and caramel make their return.

FINISH: A beautiful pronounced finish that evolves with the time between each drink. While notes of butterscotch persist, the strength of the 114.4 proof provides an ideal balance that warms your mouth and chest and highlights some of the softer baking spice notes.

Crafted in Austria using a blend of potatoes and an array of botanicals such as juniper, orange, lemon peels, coriander, anise, fennel, and ginger, Monopolowa Dry gin stands as an exquisite and velvety spirit. Its delicate profile unveils a gentle texture complemented by nuanced flavors. Notably acclaimed, it achieved a remarkable 93-point rating in 2011 from the esteemed Beverage Testing Institute, solidifying its exceptional quality. Earning the distinction of a DRINK Customer Favorite, this gin embodies a delightful and refined drinking experience.

This vermouth was inspired by our desire to make a vermouth enhanced with the Mediterranean citrus aromas that are so intrinsic to the area around our winery.

VINIFICATION
We blend an infusion of aromatic herbs with the peel of several different citrus fruits. After several months of maceration, we add an aged white mistela (sweet wine) that we keep especially for this vermouth.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Aromatically intense and very pleasant. Memories of sweet herbs such as star anise, lemon verbena, quina and angelica. Both well-balanced and complex.

Mouth: An elegant, smooth, refined and well-rounded palate with a slight sweetness, and also a certain bitterness. An elegant and citrus fruit finish ensures freshness and a superb aftertaste giving this vermouth a gourmet touch.

Maker Notes

Driven by a desire to explore our extensive cool climate Sauvignon Blanc sources, we created this blend from some of our finest parcels to illuminate the fruit purity and varietal expression of our special sites. A wine of tension and drive providing immediate enjoyment, or rewarding with careful cellaring.

TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE: Pale straw colour with brilliant green edges.

NOSE: The intense aromas of pink grapefruit, lychee, guava and white nectarine are enhanced by a touch of jasmine flower, camomile and fresh lime.

PALATE: On the palate flavours of lemon zest, passion fruit pips, citrus blossom and rockmelon with saline edges are displayed. The supple texture coupled with driving minerality create an elegant wine with a punchy citrus peel finish.

Shiraz and cabernet sauvignon have been blended in Australia since the late 19th century, in a style that uniquely combines the plush and savory notes of the shiraz with the elegance, length and structure of the Cabernet. With this wine, Cape Mentelle reconnects with Australian wine traditions and blends these two outstanding varieties from the Margaret River region, creating a rich, deeply textured and complex wine.

TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE: Deep dark cherry with intense red edges.

NOSE: The aromatics are nuanced and complex; dark black forest berry fruit, sweet paprika and toasted cinnamon overlay intense smoked charcuterie. Finer nuances of cocoa powder, umami and roasted lamb entwined with leather and tobacco undertones combined with sage and spearmint notes.

PALATE: The palate is rich and powerful displaying plum, cranberry and ripe black forest berry fruits of boysenberry and blackcurrant overlaying cured charcuterie and roasted coffee bean. Oak tones of vanilla pod, roasted walnut and mocha interlace with toffee and molasses notes. The tannins are elegant and round with great volume.
