EXQUISITELY BALANCED FLAVOUR

The second edition in the limited annual series, The Macallan Classic Cut - 2018 Edition has an ABV of 51.2% chosen by the Whisky Maker Ian Morrison as the optimum strength to reveal a dominant sweetness and the well balanced flavours delivered by the exceptional Sherry Oak Casks. After allowing to breathe for 10-15 minutes, heightened flavours of citrus, sweet vanilla and spice come to the forefront, combined with a satisfyingly long dry oak finish. Classic Cut 2018 is a truly indulgent single malt whisky.

THE EXPERIENCE

COLOUR: Earthy gold.

NOSE: Orange and lemon citrus dominates the sweet notes of nutmeg and ginger and hints of vanilla and polished oak.

PALATE: Ginger and nutmeg with a full bodied sweet vanilla and orange note.

FINISH: Medium sweet with a long dry oak finish.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: melted butter, kettle corn, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon and nutmeg, fresh bread and honey, fresh ground coffee, baking chocolate

TASTE: tropical fruit, slight apricot, brown sugar, cotton candy, sweet tea with lemon, smoked chilis

FINISH: medium long warming, late cinnamon/leather spice, mint and green peppercorns

A blend of 4-5 yr. old straight rye and straight bourbon mashed, fermented, distilled and aged at the Cedar Ridge Distillery.

Mashbill: 51% Corn, 35% Malted Rye, 14% Malted Barley

APPEARANCE: Old Copper.

BODY: Robust and rich. Palate clinging

NOSE: Dense, elegant & intriguing. Dried fruit, cedarwood, leather, and tobacco.

PALATE: Robust palate with a coating of oiliness. Aromatic citrus. Hints of wood spice opening into a dark, meatiness of barbecue pork crackling. Berries, jam & cocoa nibs add brightness.

FINISH: Deep and complex, with gingerbread, raisin, and a hint of liquorice.

Try this recipe: 

Cococabana

1½ ounces Chopin Vodka
¾ ounce Dorda Coconut Liqueur
¾ ounce Fresh orange juice
¾ ounce Pineapple juice
¼ ounce Coco Real Coconut Cream
Fresh grated nutmeg
Pineapple leaves
Orange slice

In a large shaker combine vodka, Dorda Coconut Liqueur, coconut cream, pineapple and orange juices. Add a scoop of ice, cap and shake vigorously for 8 seconds. Strain over ice into a Collins-style Tiki glass. Grate fresh nutmeg over the top. Garnish with orange wheel and pineapple leaves.
