1792 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

In 1876, John D. Willett, a key figure in Kentucky's bourbon history, passed his share in the Willett & Frenke Distillery to his sons-in-law, Benjamin Mattingly and Thomas Moore. Mattingly and Moore ran the distillery together until 1881, when Mattingly sold his share to investors. Moore, taking full control, renamed it after himself. Operating for five more decades, the Tom Moore Distillery closed during Prohibition. Today, the Barton 1792 Distillery, situated on the same site, continues Moore's methods. The 1792 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, made from a mash of 75% corn, 15% rye, and 10% barley, delivers classic butterscotch and nut notes from corn and a full-bodied complexity from rye. Distilled in a copper-pot still, it ages in new American oak casks in Warehouse Z, benefiting from intense heat and humidity. Master distiller Ken Pierce selects the finest barrels, ensuring each is unique. After at least eight years, the bourbon is brought to proof with iron-free water from the Tom Moore spring. The result is a nose of sweet butterscotch, ginger, and Fuji apple, a caramel-forward palate with a hint of rye, and a sweet finish with warm bitter cloves. Expect scarcity and quick demand, following the success of previous limited editions from Barton 1792.
