Aska Bolgheri Rosso Doc Banfi 2017
Aska is a wine that emerges from Banfi's exploration of the Bolgheri region. It is primarily crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. The fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, while the aging process occurs in French oak barriques for approximately 10 months. The winemaker describes Aska as having complex and intense aromas, with hints of blueberry, jam, tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, it is soft, with sweet and elegant tannins, culminating in a long and persistent finish. This wine exhibits great aging potential. Given its structure and elegance, Aska pairs exceptionally well with game dishes, aged cheese, and cold cuts. Notably, in the 2022 wine awards, it received a score of 93 points from James Suckling.
