A first-of-its-kind tequila crafted from single estate agaves de semilla - agaves grown from seed - averaging approximately 8 years old, the high natural sugar content has resulted in an exceptionally rich tequila. At 50% ABV, powerful flavors and aromas of cooked agave, tropical fruits such as roasted pineapple and melon, chocolate, caramel, dulce de leche, and spices including cinnamon and cardamom, are complemented by notes of gardenia and a minerality that reflects the terroir of the highlands.

On The Nose
The first impression is intense cooked agave, caramel, chocolate, and dulce de leche obtained from its slow cooking. Flashes of tropical fruits such as roasted pineapple, melon, floral nuances like gardenias, subtle herbal notes, and spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, with a mineral touch. It is balanced, as its aromas obtained from its careful process are perceived, and the alcoholic note is low.

On The Eye: Bright, luminous, with silver hues, and full-bodied.

On The Palate: It confirms all its olfactory promise, leaving the mouth with intense fruity, spicy, floral tones, and cooked agave. It is sweet and silky. With great persistence.

Matured for approximately eight months in Symphony Barrels specifically designed for this expression, bringing to life something rich, complex and utterly unpredictable.

This second barrel is assembled from 18-month air-dried wood and then toasted but not charred. The truly unique and delicious taste of Michter’s US★1 Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon represents a remarkable achievement given that it is Kentucky Straight Bourbon with nothing extra added or done except placement in a second toasted barrel.

This is a gin with a singularity of purpose – to Make America Drink Again. It distills the essential flavour of the United States – burger and hot-dog mustard – and blends it with subtle gin-making botanicals to create a faint patriotic fervour in the back of the throat. Not to be used as a garnish for fast food. It will shock-chill the meat product and cause structural instability in the bread element.

TASTING NOTES

The mustard is front and central and provides warmth while being light on the tongue. We paired it with gherkin to counterbalance the heat by giving a briny note to the finished product. As a result, it’s a savory style gin that is both light and warming, with tomato providing a smoothness to the profile.

Maker Notes

There is no such thing as an ‘Asian parsnip’. Parsnips do not grow in Asia, and are unknown in that region’s culinary canon. Rather, this gin combines the homely flavour of that most English of root vegetables with the gastric stimulus of spices from India. It is a comfort and a thrill in equal measure, and is officially acknowledged as a vital component of UK multi-culturalism.

This rich, elemental, and extraordinarily rare limited edition is born from a partnership between our Director of Whisky Creation, Dr Bill Lumsden, and Japanese botanical artist, Azuma Makoto.

Dr Bill’s bespoke whisky creation is an ode to all natural elements, from the depths of the ground through the complex flora and fauna. It is truly a remarkable tribute to the wonder of the living world and emanates from Dr Bill’s inspiration as a result of Azuma’s own masterpiece. The release showcases how nature, in all its forms, can be personified in an exquisite whisky.

In order to express the complexity of our natural world, Dr Bill first took a classic Glenmorangie, long aged in ex-bourbon casks, heady with aromas of lemon balsam and orchids. He then united that single malt with the first whisky from Glenmorangie to be finished in casks which once held Chardonnay white wine from the Meursault appellation in Burgundy. Inspired by that whisky’s complex notes of flowers, rain-soaked moss and earthy notes, Azuma Makoto created a botanical masterpiece, which now adorns our whisky.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Deep Copper

AROMA: Rich, heady, pungent, and fragrant. A burst of syrupy fruits (peach, pineapple, damson and plum), followed by some more savoury notes like burning oak bark, roasting chestnuts, baking sour dough and some hints of damp forest floor. Water releases some herbal and floral notes, with a touch of scented incense, aromatic orchids and even some grapey, vinous notes.

TASTE: Rich, sweet and fruity, with an almost waxy mouthfeel. There are flavours of lemon balsam, honeycomb, poached pears with a dusting of cocoa powder, followed by some gentle woody/ balsamic notes.

FINISH: The aftertaste is lingering and mellow, with hints of eucalyptus, lemon and toasting oak.
