Made from gently pressed, very ripe, raisin-like grapes, this sweet Malbec comes from the vineyards that surround the winery, at 980 m.a.s.l. (3,215 ft.). It displays an interesting array of aromas: dark berries, tobacco, cloves and cinnamon. I recommend pairing it with cakes, Malbec poached pears and desserts with red berries or semisweet chocolate.

From a Distillery with more ups and downs that a pogoing punk comes Ardcore. Created with roasted black malt, roasted to the extreme, this spirit is all about what happens up front – centre stage. The malt is what defines its distinctive profile. Described as tasting like ‘biting on a spiky ball’, Ardcore is a dram that wears its heart on its sleeve… its black heart!

Notes of charcoal and sweet smoke make for an in-your-face nose, while potent notes of aniseed and dark chocolate stamp this bottle out as one fit only for the most Ardcore of fans.

A masterful union of three well-bred ryed bourbons. All with exceptional pedigree. We open with a bold 14-year old that evokes rich butterscotch and hints of chocolate. Next, and 11 year old excites the palate with a sweet and spicy nose of vanilla and cinnamon. And lastly, and 8 year old finished in Calvados casks, delivering notes of juicy pears and ripe apple, reminiscent of the oak barrels previous like.

This beautiful Cucharillo, distilled from wild Sotol plants harvested in Oaxaca's southern highlands, is the most aromatic and botanical from Erstwhile Mezcal's 2021 Limited Releases.  Oregano, lemon balm, and other wild mountain herbs that grow naturally in the same hills make a delightful bouquet in the mouth feel and flavor profile.  "Cucharillo" is the local name for the Sotol plant in this part of southern Oaxaca, Mexico.
