Zhang Enli x Hennessy: Celebrating new beginnings
Coming after a time of challenge and loss, the Year of the Tiger represents hope and augurs renewed energy and vitality. The Shanghai-based artist Zhang Enli explains why his artwork for Maison Hennessy commemorates that.

The Hennessy V.S.O.P blend is the expression of eight generations of Master Blenders know-how. To perpetuate the legacy of the original Hennessy V.S.O.P, Hennessy Master Blenders have constantly sought to create a completely harmonious blend: it is the definitive expression of a perfectly balanced cognac. Based on a selection of firmly structured eaux-de-vie, aged largely in partially used barrels in order to take on subtle levels of oak tannins, this highly characterful cognac reveals balanced aromas of fresh vanilla, cinnamon and toasty notes, all coming together with a seamless perfection.

Our Reposado Cristalino is a one-of-a-kind, complex and smooth tequila. Crafted from hand-selected piñas which are harvested at peak maturity from our family farms and then roasted in traditional stone ovens. Aged for months in Eastern European oak barrels and finished in California Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks. Then, as a final step, the tequila is slow-filtered to create a rich, complex and ultra-smooth crystal-clear Cristalino tequila that you will love drinking.

Gran Coramino Cristalino is so good that it can be enjoyed by itself. The liquid’s sweet and spicy flavors make for a complex pour. Take in the aromas of oak and cooked agave and savor the taste of vanilla bean, toffee, dark berries, and light spice. Add rocks for greater refreshment, or other ingredients if you have a particular taste in mind. We have a few recommendations.

1 L Wild Turkey 101
20 g cardamom seeds
150 g dried, unsweetened cranberries
3 sticks cinnamon

In a wide-mouthed glass infusion jar, place the Wild lurkey 101 and the cardamom seeds. Close and leave in a cool dark place for 1 day. Strain out cardamom and add the cranberries and cinnamon. Close and leave for another 2 days, agitating once per day. Strain solids and store in the original Wild Turkey bottle with proper labeling.

This is a Private Pick Selected by the members of the NEBCo. Barrel #16-12 was selected by 6 members of the group during a virtual barrel pick. This specific barrel was chosen for it complete bourbon profile (Nose, Palate, and Finish), how approachable it is for those new to cask-strength. bourbon, and the complexity it presents for those more experienced with higher proof bourbon.

James, our President and Founder, is at it again and has sourced some amazing barrels of 100% Canadian Rye. Barrel #4985 met his exacting standard and promises to be a special pour.
At 132.2 proof this barrel drinks below it alcohol content while providing a hybrid profile – the spicy notes you would expert from a cold weather rye coupled with vanilla cream, light citrus, and an amazingly long finish.

In May 2021, Lord Hobo Brewing Company (Woburn, MA) picked up seven Kentucky bourbon that housed whiskey used in the production of Batch 2021-03 of New England Barrel Company’s (NEBCo.) Small Batch Select Bourbon. These barrels were then filled with a stout developed by Lord Hobo and left to sit for just over four months.
In September 2021, these barrels were emptied of the stout and brought back to NEBCo where they were filled with single barrels of Kentucky Bourbon aged 3 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
The bourbon was allowed to finish for 3.5 month in these barrels adding complementary notes of the chocolate, toffee, and hints of coffee to the underlying bourbon.
Bottled at cask strength and lightly, non-chill filtered for your enjoyment and drinking pleasure, Barrel 17-45 is limited to 196 bottles.
