Veuve Clicquot Brut represents the very best in quality champagne. Veuve Clicquot rivals the likes of Mo?t & Chandon and is world renowned for a reliability in producing sensational champagne.Characteristically deep and full, Veuve Clicquot Brut features a clean floral sensation and a lingering freshness. With hints of vanilla, fruit and raisins creating a toasty aroma, the senses will be appeased before the first sip even hits the palate. Using only the best Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, a well-balanced melange of fruity aromas, together with the hint of added spice, will be sure to impress any champagne enthusiast.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1772 by Philippe Cliquot from a wealthy banking family, his son Franois married Barbe Nicole Ponsardin. Sadly she was widowed at just 27 so took over the stewardship of the champagne company, something she proved very good at.

DEMI-SEC

With its equilibrium that tends towards sweet and fruit flavors, Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec is an indulgent treat for champagne lovers – and perfectly suited for dessert.

THE BLEND

No fewer than 50 individual wines make up this cuvée. The traditional proportions for Demi Sec are: 40 to 45% Pinot Noir, 30 to 35% Meunier, 20 to 25 % Chardonnay.

As with all Veuve Clicquot blends, Demi-Sec is predominantly Pinot Noir (40-45%), which gives the champagne its fundamental structure. The pursuit of very distinct fruit flavors means that there is a higher level of Meunier (30-35%) in the blend than would typically be found in Yellow Label, for example, and Chardonnay completes the blend (20-25%). The inclusion of 30-45% reserve wines ensures the consistency of the Veuve Clicquot style. The long aging in our Crayères (3 years minimum for Demi-Sec) gives silkiness to the Champagne. Finally, a dosage of 45 g/L gives Demi-Sec a sweeter balance of flavors while preserving the wine’s inherent freshness.

TASTING NOTES

After additional cellaring (two to three years, or even more in the right conditions), Demi Sec develops even richer notes of praline or toasts. It is then ideal with caramel or praline based desserts: Paris-Brest, tarte Tatin, pears with caramel, etc…

One of the world's most beloved and recognized champagnes, Yellow Label is a signature of the Veuve Clicquot House. This golden-yellow wine is immensely pleasing to the nose while its complexity explodes on the palette. The initial notes of fruit are followed by more discreet aromas of brioche and vanilla. Pairs beautifully with a variety of foods, including roast duck, smoked salmon and shrimp.

In 1810, Madame Clicquot invented the first Vintage Champagne, in 2012 Veuve Clicquot declared the 66th vintage of the Maison. With grapes exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus, Pinot Noir dominates the blend (51%) and provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, followed by Chardonnay (34%) that adds finesse and elegance essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and then Meunier (15%) that rounds out the blend. The Vintage Rosé 2012 blend is elaborated with 13% red still wine, exclusively from the Pinot Noir of Bouzy. The uniqueness of the Vintage Rosé 2012 lies in the addition of 11% of wines aged in large wooden casks (foudres), bringing strength and aromatic intensity. TASTING NOTES

The palate is powerful and voluminous, with an attack that is distinct and clear. It unfolds with initial aromas of luscious red fruit, strawberry and Morello cherry. Next to arrive are dense notes of noble tannins; their velvety, silky caress is the perfect counterpoint to Vintage Rosé 2012’s spicy saffron and peppery notes.

Tension and elegance

Held up to the light, La Grande Dame 2015 reveals a beautiful, golden robe that sparkles brightly.

This solar vintage, while elegant and precise, offers fresh minerality with light floral notes of jasmine and acacia on the nose, which evolve into fruity notes of pear and clementine.

As for the first sip, it envelops the palate with a delightfully subtle, silky texture.

In 2022, Veuve Clicquot reveals this 9th edition of La Grande Dame Rosé, an exceptional and rare wine.In 1818, Madame Clicquot crafted the first known "rosé d'assemblage" champagne by blending some of her Bouzy red wines with her white wines. La Grande Dame Rosé respects her vision with 90% of Pinot Noir coming from the historic Grands Crus of our terroir as well as a red wine added to the blend from a single parcel: the Parcelle 'Clos Colin' located in Bouzy, a Grand Cru terroir.

More than 200 years ago, Madame Clicquot was already particularly fond of this grape variety which has become the signature of the House.Delicacy, details and precision come together to form its great complexity. Pinot Noir expresses itself differntly according to its terroir, its exposure and the year of its harvest, and it consequently offers a multitude of aromatic facets.

La Grande Dame Rosé 2012 is a blended rosé champagne made from the House's historic Grands Crus.
In this champagne, the Pinots Noirs of Aÿ, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay and Bouzy find their greatest expression of verticality, with more than 90% in the blend, enhanced by 10% of Chardonnay from Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The 13% of Pinot Noir red wine that goes into the blending of La Grande Dame Rosé comes exclusively from the Parcelle 'Clos Colin', situated in Bouzy.

TASTING NOTES LA GRANDE DAME ROSÉ 2012

La Grande Dame Rosé 2012 is a solaire vintage champagne, expressing a great elegance.
This cuvée has a beautiful salmon pink color and coppery sparkle. On the nose, we discover floral notes, evolving towards warmer, more spicy notes. In the mouth, after a sharp attack, it is elegant and silky. It's a complex, lively wine, with a pleasing and lasting finish.

THE CUVÉE

La Grande Dame 2006 is an exclusive blend of our eight classic Grands Crus: Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir (53%); Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for the Chardonnay (47%).

THE GRAPE HARVEST OF 2006
The winter was particularly cold and long. The spring was mixed, but with good conditions for budding.  The flowers opened in late June, in what was unseasonally hot weather. The summer was chaotic, with an August worthy of late autumn.  Fortunately, the vines were able to draw on their reserves, to produce an abundant yield of superb quality.

Therefore, between 14 and 29 September, we harvested a very fine crop of grapes. At the very end of picking, Botrytis struck, though it had no impact on the quality of the harvest. An effective sorting operation was carried out. 

The Pinot Noir wines are fruity and full-bodied; the Chardonnay wines are of considerable distinction. The red wines of Clos Colin in Bouzy offer a superb balance, with a rich, crisp fleshiness.

TASTING NOTES
In the mouth, it is plump and full of substance. The texture is crisp and silky. The tannins are still present, calling for a cuisine with texture to bring out the best in this wine. The finish is long and coats the palate. The tannins are already very well integrated and can be expected to blend in still further over the coming years.

Veuve Clicquot presents the third edition of its Extra Brut Extra Old collection. With one of the largest and most varied collections of reserve wines in Champagne (between 400 and 500 wines), the Maison has a unique wine heritage.

True to its expertise in the Art of Blending, Veuve Clicquot enriched its Extra Brut Extra Old collection in 2021 with a new cuvée composed of 8 years selected among its remarkable reserve wines: 1990, 1998, 1999, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2014.

A precise Champagne made for wine lovers, this new wine is matured twice. First in vats on fine lees for several years, then in cellars for a further three years before disgorgement, giving it its texture and aromatic complexity. 

On the nose, Extra Brut Extra Old 3 reveals aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits (lemon), white fruits and opens with notes of bread dough and orange peel. The first sip reveals a great freshness on the palate, then comes the complexity and depth. Extra Brut Extra Old 3 has an aging potential of more than 15 years and brings all the precision and liveliness of a rare and complex Champagne.

The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that is so typically Veuve Clicquot, while a touch of Meunier rounds out the blend. Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse essential in a perfectly balanced wine. To ensure the quality and continuity of the Yellow Label’s style, the blend can be created with up to 45 % reserve wines. Veuve Clicquot has the largest and the most varied collection of reserve wines (400 wines, aged up to 30 years).

The wine is characterized by a brilliant golden yellow color and a fine, persistent effervescence. Yellow Label Brut cuvée reveals an aromatic profile dominated by notes of white and yellow fruits like pear, apple, and peach. Hints of citrus fruits like mandarin and grapefruit blend harmoniously with gourmand aromas of brioche. Yellow Label Brut is structured by Pinot Noir, the true backbone of the wine. It offers flavors of pear, peach, and pastry enhanced by a touch of dried fruit from aging on lees, which gives it a true aromatic richness.

On the palate, there is plenty of body and substance. The texture is crisp and silky. The finish is fresh and generous, indicating a light dosage that does not disturb the wine's natural balance.

Veuve Clicquot Vintage 2008 is the first Vintage to be aged in wood barrels. It intensifies the natural aromas of wines and adds some spicy notes on the palate.

As with every Vintage, this wine is a reflection of the year's weather and climate. 2008 ended wonderfully with the grapes maturing in ideal conditions. The harvests, grouped together throughout Champagne, took place between Mid-September and early October, in perfect weather. The quality of this harvest was exceptional, with great potential for aging. Naturally then, 2008 was declared a Veuve Clicquot Vintage, the third in the decade following 2002 and 2004 and the House's 65th since its first Vintage of 1810. New to this 2008 Vintage: 5% of the wines were produced and aged in wooden casks from forests in Central France, from Allier and Vosges. This was to increase the complexity and aromatic richness of our Vintages, our gourmet wines. These cask-aged wines act as the spices for the blend. They bring very lightly woody, vanilla and toasted aromas.
