This year’s annual special release celebrates Coy Hill which is the highest-elevated rolling hill on the Jack Daniel Distillery property.  This rare high-proof release honors the art of the whiskey-making process, as well as showcases how a barrel house location along with the extreme weather and maturation conditions produces an exceptional whiskey flavor.  The Coy Hill High Proof is bottled in its purest form straight from the barrel, with minimal filtration, uncut at 137.4 - 148.3 proof. This one-of-kind Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel bottle should remain upright at all times unless you are pouring it into a glass to enjoy.

Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled 2022 Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks is the fifth annual special release. This year’s special release celebrates a brand new grain bill from the Jack Daniel Distillery - 100% malted barley. This is a one-of-a-kind experience crafted from the highest quality malted barley, charcoal mellowed, and twice barreled for a complex taste. This special release is first aged in brand new, American white oak barrels and then finished in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and bottled in its truest form, straight from the cask, with the proof ranging from 106.1-107.8.

Tasting Notes

This chestnut-colored drink has a sweet aroma of brown sugar, fruity notes, and a hint of vanilla and plum. Its palate boasts a blend of sweet vanilla, plum, dark chocolate, and oak. The finish is a delightful mix of spices, pepper, clove, dark chocolate, and sweet fruit.

This annual special release Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye celebrates the early craftsmanship of the Jack Daniel Distillery, honoring a time when American whiskey was often high in rye content and offered at barrel strength. Bottled in its purest form right from the barrel and uncut at full proof, it’s packed with Jack character with our signature smooth finish. Proof will range from 125-140.

The nose offers peppery rye spice with sweet molasses, dark fruit, aged oak, raisin, and a hint of smoke. The palate is a blend of butterscotch sweetness, waves of spice, toasted oak, raisin, and burnt caramel, with a thick and creamy mouthfeel. It’s been 100 years or so since the Jack Daniel Distillery released a whiskey of 10 years of age or greater. Evolving Jack Daniel’s past aged-stated whiskey process, these Tennessee Whiskey barrels have been aging in the Buzzard’s Roost of our barrelhouse, and methodically relocated to the lower floors of different barrel houses to extend the aging process for the last 10 summers. The extreme weather variation at different locations in the barrel houses along with longevity in our handmade oak barrels creates an intense, unique character of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey.
