After aging our rye in new charred American white oak barrels for at least 9 years, we created this blend that has aromas of peach preserves, graham crackers, and dark chocolate. Balancing sweet with spice, this rye whiskey has full flavors of orange zest, pecan pie, peppery honey, and cinnamon toast. Signature Rye Whiskey: Sagamore Spirit Rye Whiskey is a blend of two straight rye mash bills, aged 4 to 6 years in high-char American oak barrels. The first is a high-rye, which adds notes of cinnamon and clove, and the second, a low-rye, contributes notes of caramel, honey, and citrus peel. The final spirit is proofed with limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909 and represents our team's thoughtful approach to crafting a classic Maryland-style rye whiskey.

Double Oak Rye Whiskey: After aging our straight rye whiskey for 4 to 5 years in high-char new American oak barrels, our distillers transfer the aged whiskey into toasted wave stave barrels for an additional 18 months. The increased surface area of the low-char, medium-plus-toast staves imparts Double Oak's delightful caramel, toffee, hazelnut, and toasted coconut. Our classic Maryland-style rye whiskey is reimagined through this innovative aging process and then proofed with limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909. The final spirit is a shining example of old meeting new.

PALATE: Smooth caramel and rich toasted coconut. Nutty flavors of hazelnut and pecan meld perfectly with vanilla and caramel.

Tequila Finish: We finished our straight rye whiskey in Extra Añejo Tequila barrels. The result is remarkably unique tequila finished whiskey with notes of agave and vanilla on the nose and honey, peppercorn and orange citrus to taste. Pairing tequila and whiskey is always a risky move, but this was a risk worth the reward.

Manhattan Finish : Awarded 94-points from the Beverage Testing Institute.

We finished our straight rye whiskey in vermouth, bitters, and cherry brandy barrels to create a unique Manhattan Finished Rye Whiskey. Herbaceous undertones and fresh cherry sweetness make this an incredible whiskey to mix into its namesake, or savour on its own.

Rum Cask Finish Rye Whiskey is the second iteration of our Rum Cask Finish Rye Whiskey celebrates the innovation and creativity of our Sagamore Spirit Reserve Series. We aged our 5- and 6-year-old straight rye whiskies in hand-selected barrels from South America and Jamaica for an additional 10 months and then blended them back together. The Jamaican rum barrels contribute notes of ripe banana and bright pineapple, balanced by the rich vanilla and brûléed sugar character of the South American rum barrels-a unique combination enhancing the spice of our rye. Our Sagamore Spirit Reserve Series celebrates the legacy of Maryland distilling, with an unyielding focus on excellence from start to finish.

Sagamore Spirit Bottled in Bond straight rye whiskey marks our commitment to the highest levels of excellence and authenticity-furthering our mission to make Maryland distilled, aged, and bottled products. Enacted in 1897, the bottled in bond distinction is a marker of distilling quality and transparency. Featuring our first batch of whiskey distilled in Maryland, this 100-proof rye whiskey is a blend of two rye mash bills-a high rye and a low rye-showcasing flavors of rye spice from our grain, fruit and floral notes from our sour mash fermentation, and notes of toasty caramel from our barrel aging.

The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 established that spirits with this designation must be a product of one distillation season; at one distillery; aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years; bottled at 100-proof; and produced in the United States.

This product was first introduced in November 2021 and is available now at our distillery and shipping to limited markets across the U.S. in November of 2022.

Sherry Finish 6 Year Old Rye Whiskey

First released as a Distillery Exclusive bottle in 2019, our distillers were committed to bring back this complex and layered whiskey for the world to enjoy. The structured oak profile of our original whiskey balances the bouquet of dried fruit and honey left from the PX Sherry wine. Our 4-year old straight rye whiskey spent an additional 18 months in 132-gallon PX Sherry barrels, resulting in a taste profile featuring velvety notes of toasted almond, dried fig, and soft spice.

PALATE: Toasted almond, dried fig, raisins, dates, honey, toffee, candied orange peel, jam, soft spice and hints of cocoa.

Cask Strength Rye Whiskey: Our Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is a blend of straight high-rye and low-rye mash bills aged 4 to 7 years. The 7-year-old contributes deeper chocolate, hazelnut, and molasses characteristics and the 4-year-old adds bright citrus notes and balanced spice. After our distillers select and blend these straight rye whiskies, they add just a touch of limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909. Cask Strength is complex and perfectly layered, showcasing the transformational art of blending.

Calvados Finish: We finished our Straight Rye Whiskies in calvados barrels to create this unique rye. Notes of baked apples, cinnamon, and honey from French apple brandy casks combine with our smooth rye profile to create a whiskey that is both luscious and daring. After aging our rye in new charred American white oak barrels for at least 8 years, our distillers crafted this complex rye with notes of dried cherries, clove, and smoked vanilla on the nose. A perfect balance of sweet and spice, this rye whiskey has a bold palate with flavors of candied ginger, sweet orange, molasses, and nut brittle.

This bottle had an original release in 2021 which earned a Gold Medal from the ASCOT Awards and a Double Gold from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
