Avua
Avuá Amburana Cachaça is aged in Amburana wood, found only in the forests of Latin America. Resting in this indigenous wood produces a stunning mix of WARM and SAVORY notes on the nose and palate that provides a truly unique taste experience for cocktail experimentation or sipping neat. Discover and enjoy our unique hand crafted Avuá Amburana Cachaça cocktails.
"The Avuá Amburana is another thing entirely: It's mellow and smooth from aeration in the wooden tank, but the compounds the spirit pulls out of the wood are anything but familiar. The strong woodiness oak brings in is gone, replaced by juicy black-cherry and spicy caraway notes. The sugarcane funk is still there but softened and diffused. This is a pure sipping spirit and one unlike anything made anywhere else in the world." - Dave Wondrich, Esquire

Avuá Prata Cachaça is rested in stainless steel vats before being hand bottled. The result is a LUSH and CRISP spirit with subtle floral notes perfect for exciting new cocktails, or the O'Clássico Caipirinha. Discover and enjoy our unique hand crafted Avuá Prata Cachaça cocktails.
"Take Fazenda da Quinta, an artisanal producer deep in the backcountry of Rio de Janiero state: a few hundred acres of cane grown without pesticides, cut by hand, run through a water-wheel-powered, and pot-distilled. Avuá Prata, rested in steel, is soft and creamy, with grassy tequila-like notes and a light but persistent funk or "hogo" that makes you want more. It makes a stellar caipirinha." Avuá Bálsamo Cachaça is hand-crafted and aged up to two years in bálsamo wood casks, a high density, burgundy colored hardwood native to South and Central America. These tall trees with a fine grain impart a herbaceous aroma with a flavor that hints at minerality, citrus and bitterness. Try it on the rocks, neat, or in a cocktail showcasing its incredible flavor.
This Copan Special Edition bottling is the first of our resolutely limited wood series, made as an experiment with Craig Schoettler and the venerable distillers of Hardy Cognac. Each of these bottles is a finishing school for Brazilian wood aged cachaça that is rested in a Hardy Cognac barrel. This release is limited to 600 bottles and will never be reproduced.
Each bottle is hand-crafted and aged over one year in tapinhoã wood casks, imparting toasted coconut and pine tree notes then finished for six months in large barrels, adding the rich flavors of the cognac. Enjoy it in cocktails, sipped neat, or paired with a cold beer.
Avuá Tapinhoã Cachaça is aged in tapinhoã wood, an extremely rare hardwood found in parts of South America. The spirit is aged in a barrel used decades ago by our distiller's father. After a lengthy recommissioning process, and up to 2 years of aging, we are proud to offer our second unique Brazilian wood offering. This wood imparts flavors of toasted coconut, fresh honeycomb, and caramel. The soft, sweet notes imparted by the wood create the perfect sipping spirit. Try it on the rocks, neat, or in a cocktail showcasing its incredible flavor.
Avuá Oak Cachaça, following Brazilian tradition, is aged for up to 2 years in French Oak, or carvalho, previously used to age white wine. Carvalho, the most common wood used for cachaça-aging in Brazil, imparts notes of vanilla and butterscotch. Oak-aged cachaça finishes dry with a slight bitterness that has many layers for an exquisite sipping spirit. It is also the perfect base for stirred cocktails and tropical cocktails like the Mai Tai or Planter's Punch.
Our Still Strength Cachaça reflects the best of Avuá at 90 proof–the taste and strength intended by nature and alchemy. Like Prata, it is rested in stainless steel vats before being hand bottled. Explore this BOLD and CRISP spirit with vegetal and banana notes perfect for cocktails that call for a higher proof base distillate such as tiki and stirred drinks.
Avuá Jequitibá Rosa Aged Cachaça Single-sourced from the hills of Carmo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Hand-crafted and aged up to two years in a jequitibá rosa cask, a high density, a light-colored wood with a hint of pink coloring, found only in central and southern Brazil. Produced in a single barrel, this jequitibá rosa aged cachaça is our third offering in a series of native wood experiments. The large vertical cask of light, rich wood imparts a fruity aroma with a delicate yet slightly bitter flavor. Enjoy it in cocktails, sipped neat, or paired with a cold beer.
