Catrina History

La Catrina was a zinc etching originally created in 1910 by Mexican printmaker Jose Guadalupe Posada. He was known for his images of political and social satire. She became a symbolic figure during the time of the Mexican Revolution. 

​La Catrina is often associated with Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a pre-Colombian Meso-American observace of death and life that is celebrated on November 2nd in all of Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula and parts of Central America.

​La Catrina in her elegance broad-brimmed hat first appeared in a satirical engraving that mocked those who pretended to be of a higher class, even if that meant starving, and going painfully thin, or without flesh. 

​To this day, La Catrina continues to be a symbolic figure. She has become part of the imagery for Dia de los muertos but also she can be found in books, cartoons, posters, figurines and artwork spanning over 100 years.

This artwork was created around 1910-1913 by José Guadalupe Posada in an etching called “La Calavera Catrina,” originally known as “La Calavera Garbancera.” She was created as a satirical image. Now we adapt Mexico's great folflore into a one of a kind Tequila Package, Dona Celia Tequila. Made out of ceramic and hand painted designs, this doll not only has a beautiful design but has a high quality 100% Agave Tequila to compliment inside.

Holmes Cay is an independent bottling company from New York City. Founded by New Yorker rum aficionado Eric Kaye in 2019, they focus on finding the very best rums and bottling them at cask strength. Kaye used to work as a producer and music composer for film, TV, and commercials, but has also been an avid diver for decades. His favorite pastime brought him into contact with fantastic rare Caribbean rums. He felt he needed to share these with his fellow Americans, which is how Holmes Cay came to be. Passionately standing behind the tradition and honor that is an integral part of rum, Kaye hopes to bring incredible as-of-yet-unknown unadulterated cask-strength rums to the US, introducing spirit-lovers to the best-kept secrets of the rum world. Their very first release Holmes Cay Barbados 2005 fittingly came from the legendary Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. The Holmes Cay Guyana Single Cask expression is a premium Caribbean rum that was distilled in 2005 in Guyana at Demerara Distillers. This 15-year-old pot-still rum was matured in the UK in an American oak recycled rum cask.

On the banks of the Salt River, nestled in the quiet Kentucky countryside near Lawrenceburg, Four Roses Distillery is a testament to American ingenuity and perseverance. Built in 1910 to resemble the architecture of California wineries, the distillery now listed on the National Register of Historic Places was one of six distilleries that was granted permission to operate during Prohibition. Following Prohibition, Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon became the top-selling bourbon in the United States.In 1943, Seagram's bought the distillery and a decade later, discontinued the sale of Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon. In 2002, the distillery changed hands again, and the new owner brought a renewed sense of purpose and vigor to Four Roses. Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is made from a mash of 60% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley. Straight bourbon must be aged for a minimum of two years Four Roses Bourbon is aged for a minimum of eight years in newly charred, white-oak casks. The high rye content in the bourbon creates a rich, spicy flavor and gives the bourbon notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. A proprietary yeast culture used to ferment the mash produces a light, fruity balance to the spiciness and the aging process gives the bourbon notes of maple syrup and caramel. While most distilleries age bourbon in warehouses that are many stories high, Four Roses ages its bourbon in a one-story warehouse to ensure that each barrel is aged in a similar environment. In addition, each bottle of Four Roses available through is the product of a single barrel (rather than a blend of multiple barrels), giving each bottle a unique flavor profile and history.

We have been producing Cabernet Sauvignon since 1978. Blending fruit from estate vineyards and top Napa Valley growers, this wine embodies the complexity of the valley, while offering a seamless balance between fruit, oak and tannins. Production

2020 brought another exceptional vintage to Napa Valley, resulting in wines with alluring polish and poise! The season began with a wet winter followed by a mild spring. While this led to a slightly later-than-normal start to the season, ideal summer weather with no significant heat spikes ensured ideal flavor development, yielding complex and vibrant whites, and refined reds with elegant tannins, enticing aromatics and beautiful fruit flavors.

Nose: Very elegant profile with dominating Tonka bean notes, blended with coconut, coffee, honey, hazelnut, and cinnamon. It then evolves to pineapple, cherry, and citrus.

Nuda Tequila was founded by a Persian-Mexican connection, in a way reflecting the two cultures that have played the largest roles in the creation of the famous Mexican spirit. It was the Aztecs that began fermenting the blue agave hundreds of years ago. But it wasn't until the Spanish aristocrat Pedro Snchez de Tagle introduced the distillation process to Mexico in the 1700s that tequila was born. The distillation process itself was perfected in the 10th century by Al-Razi, a Persian alchemist, physician, and philosopher. Nuda continues this story with an added "sensuality, sophistication and elegance of the Queen of Tequila." Nuda has 5 expressions currently in their lineup: Silver (Blanco), Reposado, Aejo, Extra Aejo, and the ultra-premium 5 Years Extra Aejo. The process begins with the harvest of mature, ripe 8-year-old blue Weber agaves in Jalisco, Mexico. Once the leaves are removed, the heart is cooked in order to convert the starches within into sugars. The cooked agaves are then crushed, releasing the juice or "aguamiel". After fermentation, the liquid is distilled 3 times the third and final distillation removing the heavier components, resulting in a pure, clean, and soft spirit. Following the distillation, each of the 5 expressions is aged for a varying amount of time. Nuda Tequila Aejo is aged for 26 months in French oak barrels, which is more than twice the required time to be called an Aejo, bringing intense vanilla and chocolate flavors to the spirit. It is bottled at 80 proof in sandblasted glass bottles depicting the feminine beauty of the Queen of Tequila.

A powerful woman deserves a powerful wine. She greets her rose-gold treasure of 14.5% alcohol which matches her presence and command of her surroundings. This AOP Ctes de Provence ros in her glass transports her to an outdoor oasis where relaxed, sun-filled shade and refreshing summer breezes express the floral notes of summer through carefree dances. She is surrounded by the notes of honeysuckle covered patios, followed by a feeling of walking through a citrus grapefruit orchard. When she finally tastes her Ctes de Femme, she is met with a feeling of drinking this magical one-of-a-kind ros right off the vine. In the 19th Century, the arrival of English ships in Honolulu Harbor led to a strong Victorian influence. Named after a sailor’s word for “drink”, “Fid” Street, now known as lower Nu’uanu Avenue in Honolulu, became the place where the thirsty and sea-weary reveled. Bridging the gap between old English and American craft gin styles, FID Street Gin is the first gin ever created on Maui and only the second in Hawai'i since prohibition.
