LEGEND HAS IT

A ship carrying spiced rum from the Caribbean was attacked by a monstrous Kraken. The Beast thrust upon the ship its massive limbs, plunging the vessel and the men on board into impenetrable darkness.

THE LONE SURVIVOR

All of the barrels of rum were destroyed except one, which was badly stained by the squid’s black ink. It was dubbed “The Kraken Rum.” It is now known as a liquid of unparalleled darkness.

Note from the Cellar Master

The first nose gives way to fleshy peach with a hint of white tobacco, followed by a burst of vanilla and toasty toffee. A vivacious palate of exotic fruit, pineapple, mango and pear with a lifted acidity and lychee finish.

This flavorful selection of 4 Copas takes the artfully crafted product and ages the juices an additional 9 months to enrich and enhance the pure agave flavor cues—so pleasing in the Blanco—to new and surprising levels of taste. The Editors of Wine and Spirits Magazine have specifically called out the Reposado vanilla, coconut and gently cooked agave flavor cues. These characteristics led to 4 Copas Reposado winning the esteemed San Francisco World Spirit Competition Gold Medal. The noble and distinct pure taste of 4 Copas award winning Reposado is its own reward, but we are very proud of each of its awards nonetheless.

TASTING NOTES

Color: Bright golden color with silver hues and great body.

Nose/Aroma: Intense aroma has been obtained in American oak barrels like vanilla, caramel, coconut and maple.  The cooked agave is intense and sweet; the herbal aroma like mint, orange, lemon and grapefruit fresh has developed the 4 copas Reposado style –   Balanced and elegant.

Taste/Mouthfeel: In the mouth it is sweet and soft.   Notes of vanilla, coconut and cooked agave. The mouthfeel is intense and the after taste is pleasantly bitter.

Maker Notes

Since 2015, we’ve been making our Lilac Gin to honor the heritage of our home in Rochester. In 2019, we decided it was time for our second home in Buffalo to get an homage to its roots too. Loganberry has been around since the 1800s and has won over the hearts of Buffalonians in the form of a Loganberry drink. Our gin takes that sweet berry everyone knows and loves and turned it into a gin sure to delight.

What’s a Loganberry you ask? It’s a real thing, we promise. Loganberries are a hybrid made from accidentally crossing a raspberry and a blackberry (so the story goes).

Anejo has a deep golden color tone. Maturation process between 12 - 18 months in Jack Daniels Whiskey barrels. Very aromatic tequila, the scents of wood are complex, notes of vanilla, light coffee, caramel and floral. A breathtakingly beautiful place set among centuries-old oak trees and a patchwork of meticulously planted vineyards, Oakville has become recognized as one of the world’s preeminent wine regions. The fruit for this delicious wine comes from our Oakville Estate and carefully selected lots from our grower neighbors.

The alluring dense, dark plum color of the 2016 Oakville Cabernet is the first indication of the rich extraction in this wine. Sweet aromas of blackberry tart, ripe plums and marzipan are complemented with a savory hint of toasted coriander seed. The palate opens smoothly, building to a rich, full mouthfeel — the young tannins hinting at a restrained power. A beautifully balanced acidity dances throughout — giving an undercurrent of freshness and a counterpoint to the sweetness of the new French oak, lifting the dark fruits and bringing forward ripe red berries. The finish is layered with baking spices, wild blackberries, and a hint of dried black currant. This wine is enjoyably exuberant now but has the fruit and structure to last another 15+ years should you desire.

Lemons from the United States and limes from Southeast Asia are the basis of our Citroen Vodka. Like these fruits, the flavor is fresh and intense with a touch of bitterness from the rinds, providing good balance. The finish is clean yet long.

Kaiyo is a Japanese Mizunara oak aged whisky. What makes this spirit so special is the bespoke oak barrel selection. Mizunara oak is some of the most expensive wood available. The impeccable character of the wood imparts distinctive notes onto every spirit. However, its delicate wood grain nature makes it quite challenging to cooper. Kaiyo whisky is aged in handmade, bespoke Mizunara oak casks. These barrels are crafted from slow growth, air-seasoned wood from hand-selected trees. After the whisky is aged, it is finished at sea, imparting even more distinctive character to the spirit. This unique sea voyage departs from Osaka Japan, and the journey can take up to 3 months. This whisky gets its exquisite character first and foremost from the Mizunara oak. The oak's lactones ratio and vanilla impart sweet, spicy, exotic notes of incense, sandalwood, and coconut. Other notes like ripe dried fruits, and subtle hints of cherry appear all throughout the nose and palate.

Chivas Regal The Icon is Scotch whisky crafted to perfection. Whiskies that make up this exquisite blend originate from distilleries no longer in existence, making them extremely rare and incredibly exclusive. Coveted by whisky aficionados the world over, these precious rare malts are blended together and matured to craft a timeless icon that’s only released in highly limited qualities every year.

Maker Notes

Spicy vanilla fruit, ripe apples and a rich, luxurious mouthfeel. This is the result of 18 long years and a generous proportion of first-fill sherry casks. And of the patience we take over the slowest distillation in Scotland.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Medium gold with a rich glow.

NOSE: Awash with red apple, ripe melon and fresh banana. Heavenly and well rounded, it drifts into hot porridge topped with brown sugar.

PALATE: Full bodied, round and rich. At first macerated fruits, marzipan and walnuts; then warm spices, dry cocoa and lingering Seville marmalade.

Hailing from central California’s Paso Robles region, our Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon is richly textured and well balanced due to the region’s cool morning fog and intense midday sun.

Flavor Notes
Aromas of red fruits are backed by powerful scents of black peppercorn. On the palate, the wine features flavors of raspberry, coffee, and vanilla. Bold tannins lead to a long, smooth finish.

This exceptional tequila starts as 100% weber blue agave which is triple-distilled for exceptional smoothness. It is then rested in American white oak barrels for at least 12 months to enhance its character – adding an array of subtle flavors, and a unique smoky finish. Finally, this aged liquid is filtered through diatomaceous earth to gently extract the color, rounding out the flavor profile.
