The resplendent red walnut hue is attributed to more than a quarter of a century of maturation in a first fill sherry seasoned European oak butt cask. A single cask of The Macallan Fine & Rare was filled on the 20th of January 1997 and bottled over 26 years later. The largest assembly of vintage-dated, single malt whiskies in the world, this Collection is a celebration of place and moment in time, creating a rare opportunity to explore those that have come before us.

THE EXPERIENCE

COLOUR: Resplendent red walnut

NOSE: Rich fruit aromas of dark cherries, Medjool dates and raisins are on the nose, accompanied by warming cinnamon, sticky toffee pudding and aged oak.

PALATE: An initial sweetness on the palate with a nostalgic medley of vanilla, apple and nutmeg gives way to an intense, rich oak with a depth of spice notes, warming aniseed and clove.

FINISH: Long and luxurious with a gentle caress of spices, sweetness and antique oak.
