Agave

A subspecies of the Karwinskii Family of agave, the Tobasiche is a wild agave that needs twelve to thirteen years to fully mature. This agave is typically characterized by its herbaceous and cedar-like aromatics with an earthy finish.

Taste

With an unconventional sweet nose this mezcal exerts traces of quince, anise, and strong minerality. This bouquet is complimented by rich herbaceous botanicals on the finish.

The Tepeztate, a subspecies of the Marmorata Family of agave, has a very distinct, erratic leaf structure and flourishes best on the sides of steep, rocky cliffs. The Tepeztate produces beautiful quiotes at the end of life which flower a rich yellow before turning to seed. This agave offers a powerful, unique aroma dominated by floral characteristics.

Taste

Herbaceous aromas, with a touch of wet stone on the nose, accompanied by grapefruit zest, orange flower and pine. Fresh florals, white pepper and minerals are highlighted on the palate with prominent notes of spice on the finish.

Of the Durangensis family of agaves, this wild agave is typically harvested from the hillsides of Durango. Cenizo thrives in high altitudes up to 8,500ft with cool and dry conditions.

Taste

This Cenizo opens with bright aromas of orange peel and floral notes. The palate is driven by big flavors of mesquite and sweet barbequed meats. Hints of dark chocolate and cocoa complement the slight smokiness on a smooth and long finish.

Agave

MadMadrecuishe is part of the Karwinskii family of agaves. It thrives in dry climates and typically grows in a tall, cylindrical shape. Due to the agave’s dense core and low water content, mezcal made from Madrecuishe typically has high minerality with vegetal and floral notes.

Taste

The nose is complex with aromas of ripe jalepeño, cocoa and floral notes. A smooth palate introduces earthy flavors of beet and sweet potato, complemented by a sweet minerality and hints of pollen. Green vegetal notes and a slight capsicum spice linger on the finish.

For 18 months our Anejo ages, giving this expression an even richer color, aroma, and flavor, amplifying the present qualities of our reposado. A well rounded, multi-layered palate of sweet oak, butterscotch, finishing with ultra-smooth vanilla highlights.

An Oa: Drawing inspiration from the protective cliffs of the Mull of Oa, which shield the Ardbeg distillery from the untamed Atlantic Ocean, An Oa embraces a harmonious interplay of contrasting flavors. This expression combines the finest casks, achieving a balance between roundness and Ardbeg's signature intensity. The whiskies used in its creation are matured in Pedro Ximénez casks for sweetness, Virgin Charred Oak casks for spiciness, and ex-Bourbon American Oak casks for intensity. Bottled from incredibly rare casks filled during some of the Distillery’s darkest days, this is Ardbeg at its most intricate, balanced and beguiling. Majestic aromas of smoked cream and earthy bonfires are masterfully interwoven with layers of pine and fragrant candle wax. Hot pepper rises on the palate, twisting around lemon sherbet sweetness, while hints of carbolic soap and tar flow into a long aftertaste characterised by delicate aniseed entwined with lingering cream and fudge.

COLOUR: Bright Amber

AROMA: A pungent burst of smoked cream, peppermint and toffee, with Ardbeg’s classic fennel and pine resin. Distant earthy bonfires mix with herbal and fruity (banana and tropical) notes, along with fragrant candle wax.

TASTE: An extremely vibrant, hot peppery mouthfeel leads into a burst of sherbet lemon sweetness (candied apples, pears and orange), hints of carbolic soap and tar, more creamy toffee, aniseed and chilli pepper.

FINISH: A long, mellow, lingering aftertaste, with lots of cream, fudge and delicate antiseptic notes. An elegant, soothing style of Ardbeg.

The inspiration for the name "Cinabrio" stemmed from the vibrant hue of red, a shade that held significance in ancient Maya culture and was achieved through the use of the mineral known as cinnabar, also called Cinabrio. In Mayan mythology, red symbolized the revered deity Kinich Ahau, who represented the sun.

Deep within each bottle of Cihuatán Cinabrio, you will discover a profound connection to Mayan folklore in the form of the Sleeping Woman, a guardian goddess entrusted with protecting the Cihuatán valley. According to legend, the Sleeping Woman would act as an intermediary on behalf of the people of Cihuatán, entreating Kinich Ahau to infuse the valley with his nurturing warmth. Symbolizing Kinich Ahau were two hummingbirds, emblematic of his presence and power.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: The hue is deep and nearly impenetrable.

NOSE: The aroma possesses an exceptional level of complexity, revealing wild shrubbery and enticing spicy notes such as curry, pepper, and ginger. The fragrance intertwines red berries and black fruits, complemented by a delicate hint of cacao resulting from meticulous maturation. The nose concludes with a subtle touch reminiscent of stones.

PALATE: The initial taste experience showcases a robust and forceful character, characterized by vibrant acidity and firm, noticeable tannins. The palate echoes the aromatic profile, featuring wild shrubbery and red berry flavors. The finish is remarkably prolonged, displaying immense concentration.

Cihuatán Sahumerio is a limited edition rum created as a celebration of love. According to Mayan lore, fire was the symbol of love and the eagle goddess Chantico was its guardian. Thus, every loving home would keep a "Sahumerio", a sacred vessel for fire. These Sahumerios would burn day and night in honor of love.

The Maya were a tight-knit community and deeply valued love and relationships. To attract love, they would perform a simple and enchanting ritual: in a Sahumerio, they would burn treats to gain the goddess Chantico’s graces.

Each treat had a meaning: dried flowers or floral honey for romance, dried fruits for family unity, incense for friendship, cacao, seeds and butters for self protection.
