Our Winery Exclusive wines allow us to create small lot offerings each vintage from unique vineyards where we can highlight both the varietal and the terroir of the region. These limited release wines are available only to guests of the winery and our wine club members, and often result in just a few barrels each vintage.

Tasting Notes

The Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley Red Blend wine is a beautiful, crushed velvet red color in the glass. The pronounced nose gives bright aromas of fresh blackberry, raspberry jam and dark violet. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine is juicy, plush and soft. The wine offers complex layers of flavor with ripe currants, baked black cherry pie alongside spiced tea and sweet vanillin notes. The wine is beautifully structured with a lush texture, good body and well-integrated tannins.

Vintage

The relatively even 2016 growing season followed welcome winter rains that eased California’s ongoing drought and gave vines plenty of moisture to pull from throughout the season. With no frost during bloom nor heat spikes during the summer, harvest was received with relative ease. The ripening season enjoyed cooler than average daytime highs with plenty of sunshine so fruit had lengthy hangtime and developed very good color and flavor concentration. The region’s typical area cold nights enabled the fruit to maintain excellent acidity.

Maker Notes

This Valpolicella Pinot Grigio can be described as sitting between the richer, more concentrated Pinot Grigio from Friuli to the north, and racier styles from the Veneto at large. The nose is spicy with hints of tropical fruit, the flavors clean and crisp, and the body round and soft with a crisp finish.

Le Rosse is one of the four main sub-plots of the Prunea estate, and is planted entirely to Pinot Grigio grapes. The vineyard rows are planted extremely close together and receive intense pruning, resulting in low yields and excellent richness. All grapes are harvested at night, to retain maximum freshness and acidity.

The process of making Akashi Ume Plum Whiskey involves infusing the whisky with ume plums during the aging process. This release asked the question: What if we take a step away from the familiar with a Single Grain whiskey aged in Virgin Spanish Oak. Without giving too much away, the two made very good partners, with a taste of gentle wood spice playing off the natural sweetness of the grain.

METHOD AND MADNESS is a spirit brand hatched from the minds of the Masters and Apprentices of Midleton Distillery. Our foundation of shared knowledge is unique to the Midleton. Innovation is nothing new to Midleton, but the new microdistillery has provided the copper canvas for experimentation to run free. The whiskeys coming out of this distillers’ playground provide a new taste from Irish whiskey history.

A Single Malt whiskey laid down in Midleton in 2002 finished in a French Oak Casks. A first for us, resulting in light perfume notes giving way to dry barley and ice cream cone wafer.

TEQUILA 100% AGAVE..HANDMADE & OXYGENATED

COLOR: Brilliant crystalline gold obtained from more than 6 months of rest.

AROMA: Aromatic cooked agave, vanilla and caramel, as well as subtle notes of mint, peppermint and peach. Increasing its powerful tone in caramel and vanilla burned by its aging in the barrels.

BODY: Silky and smooth profile with a well-balanced body with an elegant texture on the palate.

TASTE: Exquisite on the palate, fresh and clean with a touch of oak and a warm finish with hints of cooked agave.

VINTAGE
The 2018 growing season was characterized by a cool spring in the Arroyo Seco. Cool, foggy mornings and evenings, with daytime highs in the 80s through the summer, provided optimum weather for ripening Chardonnay. The warm weather in September, along with the recurring afternoon winds, provided the slow ripening needed to maximize flavors and textures. The Chardonnay harvest began on October 4th, which was later than recent vintages. Our Riverstone Chardonnay is now comprised of nine Chardonnay clones - 4, 5, 17, 76, 95, 96, 548, 809 and Hyde-Wente, each bringing one component to the complexity of flavors, textures and acidities in the final blend.

VINEYARDS
The vines for our J. Lohr Estates Riverstone Chardonnay are grown primarily on Elder loam soils underlain by “riverstones” deposited over thousands of years by the Arroyo Seco River. These stones limit soil depth from one to four feet, although roots are found at greater depths. This unique combination of sandy loam and cobblestone soil keeps the vines’ vegetative growth and fruit in balance, while the cool climate and winds of the Salinas Valley extend the growing season - retaining the natural grape acids and intense varietal character of Chardonnay.

The enticing aromas are reminiscent of white peach, apricot, ripe orange, and cocoa, and complemented by the palate flavors of citrus cream and nectarine. The rich texture and balance on the palate from aging sur lie gives way to flavors of vanilla, crème brûlée, and a touch of oak can be found on the long finish."

Aged for 2 years, this premium adult beverage was introduced, distilled in Iowa in a small batch and housed in Nashville, TN. As an American whiskey Guidance is a careful blend of corn and rye with a touch of malted barley which accomplishes a smooth intense finish.

Guidance is a young whiskey that is rare and perfect for the novice & the aficionados. You can’t miss the hint of burnt caramel from smoked barrels that lead to the Maraschino cherry and vanilla essence base on your palette.

For Ridgel and his team, the word ‘Guidance’ just made sense. It represents all those that came before and those that helped along the way. Guidance can also represent a journey or direction.

Flavor Profile

The bold scents of burnt caramel, marschino cherry and vanilla greet the nose on this coveted American Whiskey. The palate dominated by the front-end vanilla with a light and smooth experience in the middle. A long smokey finish tops off the finale.

A delicious Lolea variety, that’s 100% organic. Crafted with Grenache from ecological vineyards, mixed with natural lemon juice and cardamom.
