While we hold ourselves to the integrity of our recipe, we’re forging an iconoclastic approach to aging, exploring new methods and producing award-winning tequilas that we think are some of the most adventurous you will ever taste.

It has everything to do with our expert partners at Casa San Matias and the high levels of integrity with which they manage everything from their relationships to production. From the agave grown on the estate and local farms to the bottling process, Single Estate represents the highest level of artistry and craft from Corazón’s expert distillers.

AROMA: Baked pineapple, roasted jalapeño, and tangerine zest explode on the nose of this complex tequila.

The Corazon x Weller 12 Year Heart Expressions Añejo Tequila is a remarkable collaboration between two renowned spirits brands—Corazon Tequila and Weller Bourbon. This limited-edition release combines the distinct characteristics of premium Añejo tequila with the rich influence of Weller’s 12-Year-Old Bourbon barrels, resulting in a bold yet harmonious expression that appeals to both tequila and bourbon enthusiasts.

Crafted with care and expertise, this Añejo tequila is aged to perfection in barrels previously used for aging Weller’s celebrated 12-Year-Old Bourbon, allowing it to absorb the subtle oak, caramel, and vanilla notes that are signature to the bourbon. The result is a tequila with a beautifully complex flavor profile that’s both familiar and entirely unique.

Tasting Notes

TASTING NOTES

Aromas: Crisp and invigorating, with nuances of citrus, green apple, and a subtle hint of peppery spice.

Arouse the senses with Corazón Single Barrel, a personally selected, one-of-a-kind tequila that goes against the grain in essence and in taste. Aged exclusively in barrels from Sazerac’s award-winning whiskey brands, Corazón Single Barrel is tequila with an inherently provocative twist. From its beginning in the agave fields nested in the Highlands of Jalisco to its finish in charred oak whiskey barrels, Corazón Single Barrel is unconventional in spirit and wild at heart.

Corazon Reposado Blanton's Barrel Finish Tequila is a unique fusion of Mexican tequila and American bourbon. Aged initially in oak barrels, it undergoes a secondary aging in barrels previously used for Blanton's Bourbon. This process imparts complex flavors of caramel, vanilla, and spice, resulting in a harmonious blend of Mexican and American spirits. Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, it offers a distinctive drinking experience that bridges two rich traditions in a single bottle.

In May 2010, expert jimadors from the Corazon Distillery began harvesting agave from the rolling hillsides of Arandas, which is situated in the Jalisco region of Mexico. Rather than clear-cutting the fields from the outset, the jimadors employed scientific tools in order to analyze the precise sugar content of the 80 tons of agave plants in Arandas. Once the sugar content had been determined, the jimadors combined agave with a low sugar content (a low sugar content will produce a tequila with a drier, more mineral flavor profile) together with agave with a high sugar content (a high sugar content will produce a tequila with a sweeter and more bold flavor profile) in order to produce a unique blanco tequila. Once the tequila had been produced, it was fractionated and matured in three unique types of casks: casks that had been previously used to mature Buffalo Trace Bourbon, casks that had previously been used to mature George T. Stagg Bourbon and casks that had previously been used to mature Sazerac Rye. Corazon Sazerac Rye Aejo Tequila is aged for 24 months in casks that were previously used to mature Sazerac Rye. It has an aroma of strawberries, butterscotch and toffee, which give way to notes of caramel, roasted nuts, and ripe citrus on the palate. The finish is sharp and bold, with touches of pineapple and agave balancing notes of spicy rye.

Corazon Buffalo Trace Reposado Tequila is aged for over 10 months in casks that were previously used to mature Buffalo Trace Bourbon. It has an aroma of oak, caramelized agave and a hint of salty tang. Bold notes of fruits and agave dominate the flavor profile, and are complemented by touches of woody spices, black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is long and warming, with a touch of vanilla.

Corazon Tequila is part of theGemini Spirits & Wine Company, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary ofSazerac. Corazon Tequila utilizes ex-bourbon barrels from some of the most in-demand whiskey to explore the relationship between aged tequila and the whiskey that was initially used in that barrel. Stagg Anejo, Sazerac Rye Anejo, Old Rip Van Winkle Anejo, and Corazon Artisanal Edition Blanco. This Corazon Anejo Tequila aged 19 months in Thomas H. Handy Sazerac whiskey barrels, showcasing red pepper and cinnamon spice, dark chocolate, burnt caramel and smoldering oak.
