Our History

Golden Moon Distillery was founded by Stephen Gould and Dr. Karen Knight in early 2008, specifically to produce premium artisan whiskies, brandies, liquors, and liqueurs using the best available ingredients and made with the same type of artisan production processes utilized by distillers making premium products in the mid-to-late 1800s.

​The heart of Golden Moon Distillery is Mr. Gould’s world-class research library containing hundreds of rare books on distillation and related products and processes, some dating back to the 1500s. Most of the collection dates from the late 1700s to the early 1900s, though there are a few titles that are much older, or newer.

​Maison De La Vie currently has four antique stills at our pilot plant in Golden. Our stills date from the early to mid-1900’s.

​Golden Moon Colorado Single Malt Whiskey is distilled from 100% malted barley, grown in Colorado and the surrounding states. Our Whiskey is malted in Colorado, aged for a minimum of one year in new oak casks, and then finished in used oak casks. Golden Moon Colorado Single Malt Whiskey is a uniquely Colorado Whiskey.

Our newest 100% agave expression, Tradicional Cristalino is a Reposado matured in American White Oak and blended with a delicate amount of Tradicional Añejo and Reserva De La Familia Extra Añejo for added complexity. The blend of these three award-winning, aged tequilas is then filtered for crystal clarity and ultimate smoothness, while delivering the perfect tequila edge to kick off your most electric nights.

Kings County Distillery Straight Bourbon is a bourbon made like a scotch whiskey. We use 80% New York organic corn and 20% English Golden Promise barley for a high-malt recipe that forgoes the wheat or rye typical of Kentucky bourbons. This mash is then double pot distilled for a rich and flavorful white spirit. After aging in a variety of new charred oak barrels for anywhere between 3 and 6 years, our bourbon is carefully blended to ensure quality and complexity. With prominent notes of caramel and vanilla, as well as undertones of dark berries, this bottle is cited frequently in lists of best craft bourbons.

Tasting Notes 

Aroma: hints of maraschino cherries, vanilla beans, freshly brewed coffee, and toffee.

Taste: flavors of raisins, maple syrup, spicy cinnamon, and brown sugar.

Finish: A touch of cinnamon sugar and caramel.

Named after Evan Williams, who opened Kentucky’s First Distillery along the banks of the Ohio River in 1783, it’s aged far longer than required by law. The result is a Bourbon that’s smooth, rich, and easy to enjoy.

At RINNA WINES, we have a passion for great-tasting, premium wine. The grapes are grown and harvested in the South of France and then fermented in stainless steel tanks for four to six weeks. The slow, cool process keeps the wine’s fresh and vibrant style, making for a smoother and bolder taste. Think the quality and sophisticated taste of France, with the flair of Beverly Hills.

An everyday and delicate French rosé that’s dry in style, this blend combines aromas and flavors of fresh strawberry and raspberry mixed with layers of orange citrus and a whisper of spice. All others can move over; there’s a new bubbly blush in your life.

STRAWBERRY RASPBERRY SPICE

Varietals:

60% Grenache | 20% Syrah | 20% Cinsault

Coppers American Gin is distilled with wild juniper berries, hand-picked in northern Vermont. The coriander and licorice root build on this base, with cassia, orange peel and cardamom pods rounding out the body to form a unique, American-style Gin. The idea was to distill a spirit which would be recognizable to Gin lovers and made with local botanicals using our own small-batch production techniques. The result is an incredibly flavorful traditional gin, deserving of minimal alteration.

Tasting Notes

85 proof clear gin that is warm and pleasantly spiced. Fragrant herbal aroma, rich in spicy citrus and juniper and a heavy hit of cardamom. On the palate the spice continues with notes of ground black pepper and orange peel on the mid-palate. A juniper-led, medium length finish.

THE REFLEXIONS R.018

From our Reflexions R Champagne collection, reinterpreted year after year to reflect the unique character of each harvest. R.018 is the heart of Lallier signature style, the perfect balance of our four atmospheres: Freshness, Purity, Depth and Intensity.

THE ORIGINS

Sourced predominantly from the 2018 harvest, which makes up 70% of the blend. Grapes were sourced from over 50 crus within Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims,Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Bar regions, in mid-September. An early harvest, starting late August, yieled remarkable quantities of fruit in the vineyards, with three excellent grape varieties. The resulting base wine is fleshy, rich and intense, with a delicate freshness.

THE BLEND

The harvest of 2018, which makes up 70% of Reflexion R.018 offers intense fruity notes with a delicate sweetness. The remaining 30% is made up of reserve wines from the 2014 and 2017 harvests, each dominated respectively by intensity and fruitiness.

THE EXPERIENCE

Lallier R.018 is a versatile Champagne, which can be enjoyed as an aperitif, for spontaneous sharing moments with close friends and family. It can also be a perfect pour at the start of a bright and joyful meal.

COLOR: Light golden color with jade reflections.

NOSE: Fresh and intense citrus aromas, with notes of ripe fruit, acacia flower and a touch of honey.

PALATE: A lively and fresh opening, with generous and intense character. Clean, long finish, with a slightly silky texture

Kings County Distillery is a highly acclaimed craft distillery in New York City, known for producing award-winning whiskeys such as Bourbon, Peated Bourbon, and Empire Rye. They use only their own whiskey and never sell whiskey from other sources, with all production done onsite in Brooklyn. Their whiskeys have received recognition from various organizations and publications and are made using a blend of distilling practices from different cultures. Starting as the smallest commercial distillery in the US, Kings County is now located in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and named the American Distilling Institute's Distillery of the Year in 2016.

Before “white whiskey,” there was moonshine, otherwise known as whiskey before it is aged in a barrel—though the word can also mean any illegally-made spirit. Ours is a corn whiskey made from 80% New York State organic corn and 20% malted barley. It is double distilled and reduced to a smooth, drinkable 80 proof. Bright with a sweet slap of corn, this is our take on a classic American whiskey. We began making whiskey on the premise that unaged whiskey, like other unaged, full-flavored spirits from around the world like silver tequila, white rum, or grappa, can be delicious even before it hits the barrel. This whiskey best expresses our ambitions as distillers and can be considered the starting point for many of our more conventional whiskeys.

The heart of our spirit, fire, not only powers our stills - but also refines our beautifully unique glass.
‍Our flame burns twice as bright - indefinitely, due to Meili's 100% post-consumer recycled bottle. Vast mountains of broken, discarded glass are heated to molten masses, reborn, and repurposed into something functional and exquisite.
‍This is why no two bottles are alike. The antique texture, full of organic imperfections, and the stunning Georgia green hue.

WATER
The soul of our spirit, water, is the essence of our existence. Instinctively, we sought one of the purest water sources available.
‍An ancient aquifer formed over 300 million years ago ushers alpine snow and rainfall through miles of vast underground caverns - filtering and infusing itself through the veins of natural springs.
‍Meili takes pride in using this “living water” to distill and proof our spirits to bottle, resulting in an incredibly refreshing, unpolluted, and genuinely remarkable flavor.
‍Our regenerative water source is considered one of the purest on Earth by EPA standards.

EARTH
The body of our spirit is derived from the earth.
‍A harmonious marriage of native and seasonal grains brings a bright, smooth, and effortless flavor profile.
‍Our grains are sourced locally on our own farms, operated by the same family for generations. These farms are located centrally to our water source and distillery, resulting in the smallest carbon footprint possible. A factor that is very important to us.
‍To honor the Earth, we ensure that Meili is created, sourced, and produced as ethically, environmentally friendly, and humanely as possible.

AIR
The final "breath of life" into our spirit is air.
‍From beginning to end, Montana's crisp, cool mountain air influences our vodka and its ingredients in several unique ways.
‍The 11,000-foot elevation at our aquifer's peak allows alpine snow and rainfall to remain untainted before its subterranean journey to the collection source.
‍At the final distillation stage, our vodka is set to rest and breathe before bottling, resulting in a smoother flavor profile.

SUSTAINABILITY
We take the broken and make it whole. We transform the discarded into the desired.
‍This is recycling reimagined. Resurrected from the blaze, our handmade glass radiates new life from the ashes of the old. Designed through determination, true beauty contains imperfections. FÉLIX RAMÍREZ MENDEZ

YOGANA, EJUTLA, OAX.

The village of Yogana is located at the southern end of the Ejutla district of Oaxaca. Like all of his neighbors, Félix is a full-time farmer. Unlike many of his neighbors, Félix is also a part-time mezcalero, working with several species of agave that he plants between rows of seasonal crops, and distills on equipment unique to Ejutla that allow his spirits can reach proof in a single pass. We first met Félix, when we stopped at his wife’s store, and he offered us a pour of espadín he had in an old olive oil bottle.
