Bootleg Volume V is an exceptional 18-year-old straight bourbon whiskey secondarily finished in Spanish vermouth rouge casks. The Bootleg Series offers rare and unreleased whiskeys with special blends and barrel finishes that showcase Heaven’s Door’s innovative approach to whiskey making. Each bottle is adorned with one of Dylan's original paintings on a hand-crafted ceramic bottle and presented in a bespoke leather journal.

Comprised of a unique blend of three different whiskeys, the Heaven's Door Double Barrel finishing process utilizes hand toasted, new American Oak barrels for a secondary aging worthy of another year's wait. Double Barrel's high proof balances perfectly with the complexity of its flavor and notes of caramel, oak, citrus, and spice.

Heaven’s Door Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled and aged in Tennessee, for a minimum 6 years in new American oak barrels with a flavor profile of vanilla and baking spices layered over a bed of toasted oak. The sour mash distillation process and non-chill filleted bottling allows this mature whiskey to remain consistent, as well as creating reliable flavor profiles that come from being aged in single story warehouses.

Distilled and aged its entire life in Tennessee, this whiskey is non-chill filtered to preserve its mature flavors. The result is smooth and lasting with notes of vanilla and baking spices layered over a bed of toasted oak.

Award-Winning Whiskey

The Heaven’s Door Decade Series is a collection of limited-edition whiskeys, each featuring a 10-year-old aged expression. These whiskeys are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike, with each release showcasing the brand’s commitment to bringing new, innovative expressions to market.

The Decade 2 expression is the second release in the Decade Series. This 10-year-old rye whiskey is bottled at 100 proof and features a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% barley. With its high rye content, this whiskey offers bold and spicy flavors complemented by subtle notes of vanilla and caramel from the oak barrel. This expression is an excellent example of a well-aged rye whiskey; its 100-proof bottling provides a satisfying warmth and depth of flavor.

Appearance: The whiskey has a deep amber color with a golden hue. The liquid appears viscous and has long legs when swirled in a glass.

AGE: 10 Years

NOSE: The nose opens up with strong aromas of rye bread and baking spices, such as cinnamon and nutmeg. There are also hints of dried fruits, particularly raisins and dates, as well as a subtle sweetness of vanilla and caramel from the oak barrel.

PALATE: On the palate, the whiskey is bold and assertive, with a spicy kick of black pepper and cloves followed by notes of dark chocolate, coffee, and toasted oak. The mouthfeel is rich and full-bodied, with a slight oiliness and a pleasant warmth from the high alcohol content.

The Heaven’s Door Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a one-of-a-kind blend of two premium Kentucky Straight Bourbons, carefully crafted and aged to perfection. Our master blender expertly blends each batch using only ten barrels or less, ensuring the perfect balance of flavors in each bottle.

Heaven's Door Whiskey is a collaboration with Bob Dylan that came to be in 2018 when industry veteran Marc Bushala and Master Blender Ryan Perry teamed up with the music icon. This award-winning collection features an inspired bottle depicting the distinctive iron gates that were created by Dylan in his studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks. The unique gates were handcrafted from objects discovered across America. This incredible label has a core lineup of highly acclaimed whiskeys. Their Straight Tennessee Bourbon has a unique mash bill from Tennessee, utilizing 30% "small grains" to complement the character imparted from spending a minimum of 8 years in American oak barrels. The result is smooth and lasting with notes of vanilla and baked bread layered over a bed of toasted oak. On the other hand, the award-winning Straight Rye Whiskey gets its rest in toasted oak cigar barrels, air-dried in the low-lying mountain region of Vosges, France. This unique, proprietary finishing creates a smoother, incredibly approachable rye with notes of citrus, coriander, and spice. Heaven's Door Highway 61 is a limited-edition expression that is a blend of 5 different juices: 3 different batches of their Tennessee Bourbon and 2 batches of Straight Rye Whiskey. It's 69% bourbon, 31% rye, and 100% something special. The resulting blend is one-of-a-kind and truly unique, complex, and impressive, and available in super-limited (think single cask!) quantity.

As a tribute to shared Irish and American artistry, Heaven's Door Master Blender Ryan Perry and Redbreast Master Blender Billy Leighton collaborated on the 10-year-old Heaven's Door Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in casks used for Redbreast Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. Full and complex body by way of Rich Ripe Fruit, Red Apples, Figs & Dates, as well as an unmistakable nutty note of Marzipan and Ground Nut, especially in the finish

Introducing the 2022 release of The Bootleg Series by Heaven’s Door.  Featuring rare and unreleased whiskeys, each annual release features one of Dylan’s paintings on a hand-made ceramic bottle in a bespoke leather case.

The fourth annual Bootleg release, The Bootleg Series Vol. IV featured a wheated bourbon aged for 11 years, finished in Islay Scotch Casks, and then bottled at cask strength with a proof of 111.0.

The ceramic bottle for Bootleg Vol. IV features Lighthouse in Maine, 2017 by Bob Dylan inside a handmade leather journal. The brand's previous Bootleg Vol. III release was recognized by The Robb Report as "One of the Best Bourbons of the 21st Century…"

Maker Notes
