Created to celebrate the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, with only 4500 bottles available worldwide. 

The Open Course Collection single malt has been crafted by Michael Henry our master distiller using a combination of whisky from our unique Straight Neck pot stills and more traditional Swan Neck stills, then aged in Organic American Oak casks to create the signature fruit, honey and soft smoke style only found in Loch Lomond single malt whisky.

Distilled at Loch Lomond in the year 2000 in our remarkable stills. This whisky uses predominantly unpeated Organic barley and has been taken at a range of collection strengths to create a complex whisky that showcases our capability in distilling and the impact on flavour.

The Open Course Collection single malt is bottled at 48.2%, non-chill filtered with natural colour to keep things just as nature intended.

Loch Lomond 20 Year Old The Open Course Collection Scotch Whisky is a distinguished single malt that pays tribute to the rich golfing heritage of Scotland. Aged for 18 years in our finest oak barrels, this award-winning malt is full-bodied and rounded with a deep fruity character. With wonderful sweetness and warmth intertwined with a hint of peat, Loch Lomond 18 Year Old is a rich and elegant single malt Scotch. Loch Lomond 18 year old Single Malt is a perfect representation of our signature style, has mouth-watering notes of baked apple and rich toffee with gentle wood smoke on the finish in the typical style of Loch Lomond Whiskies. Aged in three types of American oak casks, Loch Lomond 18 year old is bottled at 46% and non-chill filtered to keep things as nature intended. This expression is brought together by Michael Henry, our master blender, whose signature on each bottle is our personal assurance of quality. 

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Green apple and grapefruit aromas fuse before honeysuckle and mature oak character comes through.

TASTE: Elegant wood notes of toasted oak and cigar box become green fruits with apple and gooseberry.

FINISH: Long finish with dried tea and tobacco leaf in balance with soft medicinal peatiness and wood smoke.

The Open Special Edition of 2021 has been created in partnership with Colin Montgomerie, Scottish Professional Golfer and Loch Lomond Whiskies ambassador.

For this special edition, a combination of spirits from both our unique straight neck and more traditional pot stills have been selected, delivering an approachable single malt of exception quality. As with all Loch Lomond Single Malts, the underlying fruit character shines with a gentle hint of smoke on the finish.

The spirit has been matured in three types of American oak casks, managed by our onsite cooperage. Michael Henry, our Master Blender then marries the casks together before a partial finish in Virgin American oak.

Non-chill filtered just as nature intended, and bottled at 46% ABV delivers a rich mouthfeel and a deep and complex flavour.
