TEQUILA BLANCO - JALISCO - Tequila Blanco is a unique recipe where under-cooking the agave and extensive oxygenation takes place in a secret engineered process in order to find the perfect balance of smoothness and crisp notes of fruit. Puntagave Artisanal is bottled at a 82 proof and it took 52 different tweaks by Maestro Tequilero Gillermo Barroso to yield this unique profile for the most demanding palates.

Tasting Notes: Utterly clean and clear, with exquisite green fruit aromas , the first impression of this fresh balanced agave tequila is crisp and clean, green apple, fruit with zesty citrus that dominates the foreground. A surprisingly long finish that’s decidedly clean. The distinctive fresh agave taste deliciously lingers on, flecked with hints of white pepper.

Produced with lower alcohol content (80-Proof) than the other Puntagave Rustico denominations is perfect to get your palate ready for the more powerful and idiosyncratic denominations. Mezcal 84, Raicilla 88, Sotol 86 and Bacanora at 90_Proof.

There are two mayor agave growing regions for tequila, the highlands (Los Altos) and the tequila valley at 2,300 meters above sea level. For years producers and consumers have been debating which agave produces the best tequila? One thing is for certain, that the rich red soil from the highlands is very porous and the rain water filters right-through, leaving these agaves extremely stress for survival. Highland agave yields the highest grades of sugar content. There is a popular claim that the highlands rich soil produces a sweeter, more citrus, and fruitier-tasting profile. PUNTAGAVE Tequila is produced with highlands grown agave in the town of Jesus Maria Jalisco.

ARTISANAL DOUBLE BARREL: Puntagave Artisanal Double Barrel is a limited-edition extension to our Ultra-Premium Artisanal line. This special edition was created in collaboration with Mexican artists COCOLVU, numbered editions are a program to showcase our search for great tasting profiles and we plan to make one batch every year. 

This first edition of Puntagave Double Barrel is the product of a two-step aging process. The first involves aging the tequila in used American oak barrels for 1 year. Then we transfer half of the batch to a New American oak barrel using the Pennsylvania famous "Nadalie cooperative" Symphony toast barrels. Meanwhile, the other half goes to new French oak barrels (Natalie, Expression Rouge) from the forest of Allier France for another year. After that we blend them together to create this unique offering. This extra aging creates a tequila with an extremely rich texture, pleasant and complex aromas, and a dark amber color. The complexity that the double barrel acquires does not lose the cooked agave, spice, and floral notes you get intensified in our silver expression. Recommended pouring in a rock glass. Add nothing.
