Pavito begins with a base of Maestro Dobel’s Silver tequila double distilled in copper pot stills- achieving the smoothness that Dobel tequilas are known for. After a brief period macerating the fruits and spices, a third distillation is performed - a first for the Maestro Dobel portfolio - during which the pechuga is placed at the top of the still. The tequila vapors are thus infused with the aromatics of the fruits, spices and savory turkey breast. This intensifies the tequila, creating layers of complexity in the resulting liquid.

Releases of this pedigree from Aberlour distillery are hard to come by and increasingly sought after. Our single cask, cask strength release is a wonderfully balanced whisky that has been described as “pretty perfect, with a fantastic tightness at the ripe old age of 30” by Serge Valentin of WhiskyFun.com.

A truly Speyside whisky, this release embodies all of the luxurious, sweet rich fruitiness which has made it the number one whisky in France. A slow distillation process, in a classic design of pot still, results in a calm, sweet and warming character.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: A meandering elegance and surprising degree of weight, too, with the most charming and gentle smokiness drifting around in very old-fashioned Speyside style. A classic exhibition of oak and barley interplay: perfect balance and respect for the other. There is even a surprise fruit note of sharp passion fruit: where the hell did that come from..? Could nose this all day, if I had the time.

Rare Cask Releases

Since 1875, Glenglassaugh distillery has sat quietly on the edge of the picturesque Sandend Bay, breathing in the North Sea air which flows through its warehouses and invigorates its sweet Highland spirit with notes of the sea. Silent for a period of more than 20 years, the distillery was re-awakened in 2008 and its stills brought back to life. Unearthed from the coastal warehouses, a rare collection of vintage casks were discovered from before the distillery fell quiet.

These forgotten whiskies can now be experienced as part of our Glenglassaugh rare cask series. Glenglassaugh rare casks are a discovery to be made, each cask telling its own story. All casks are bottled without chill filtration, for natural character, with the pure colour drawn entirely from the wood of the cask.

In celebration of Black History Month we’ve partnered with Uncle Nearest to bring you a special limited edition of our Caribbean Dark Rum finished in 1856 Bourbon Cask Barrels. Honoring our shared history, this collaboration celebrates the many black spirits pioneers whose contributions to the industry have been largely forgotten.

Maker's Mark 46 is made by taking fully matured Maker's Mark Bourbon at cask strength and inserting specially seared French oak staves into the barrels. The bourbon finishes aging for a few months before bottling. The French oak staves selected from the Independent Stave Company were named "Stave Profile No. 46," hence the name. When Maker's Mark 46 first launched in 2010, it was the brand’s first extension for Maker’s Mark. This Maker's Mark 46 Cask Strength originally was only available at the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, Kentucky for purchase. However, to mark the 10th anniversary of the launch of the brand, Maker's Mark has released this to a wider audience.

The nose is inviting with vanilla and maple notes along with a light herbal aroma. The char smoke is gentle. As you taste, the French oak staves become noticeable in the bourbon with a gentle toasted flavor. This adds a nice spiced element to the bourbon, which is soft on the palate.

BACKGROUND

Boulard Calvados is the first name in super-premium Calvados, the celebrated apple-based spirit unique to the Normandy region of France. Boulard was founded in the late 1820's by Pierre-August Boulard.

Boulard's time-honored reputation begins in the firm's 150 acres of orchards and 35,000 apple trees in the Pays d'Auge district, the officially designated source of the finest apples in Normandy. Over 120 varieties of apple, from 800 varieties grown in Boulard's orchards, are selected for production of Boulard Calvados (over twice the number of varieties stipulated by the governing body regulating Calvados production).

Calvados Boulard VSOP is the culmination of blending different Calvados Pays d'Auge from 4 to 10 years old.

COLOR: Old gold

NOSE: Rich, fruity notes with light wood and toasted nut aromas.

PALATE: Well balanced harmony between vanilla, wood and ripe apple

Espanita Reposado is aged for 6 months in slightly charred American white oak barrels that are sourced from Bourbon manufacturers in Kentucky. The previous use of the barrels in Bourbon production results in smoother tequila and adds delicious bourbon-driven notes.

Charring the casks caramelizes and releases sugars and other delicious flavoring agents, allowing for exquisite vanilla and caramel notes to develop. As a result, Espanita Reposado offers a harmonious balance between subtle oaky and vanilla undertones acquired from wood and robust, earthy Agave flavors.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: Unblemished purity. Golden color.

AROMA: Succulent and creamy with wafting scents of spiced butter, vanilla butterscotch, jasmine tea, crystallized ginger and underlying saline, zesty and slightly peppery herbal presence of freshly roasted agave.

FLAVOR: Entry is notably creamy and focused on roasted agave with a wealth of flavors including walnut, kola nut and subtle notes of sassafras and sweet tarragon. Velvety, vibrant, fruity body.

FINISH: Long finish with notes of candied banana, coconut cream and Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains.

BCS Gray Label Seagrass is born from 16-year-old Canadian Rye barrels, divided into two distinct profiles – one with citrus and green apple notes, the other with spearmint. Some from each group undergo unique finishes in Apricot Brandy, Martinique rhum, and Malmsey Madeira casks. The final blend marries these flavors when they peak during secondary maturation. This deeply mature rye whiskey boasts a classic grassy aroma with fresh Rhum Agricole notes. On the palate, the oily rye meets nutty madeira character and apricot brandy brightness, concluding with maritime minerality.

Appearance: Rich golden straw.

Nose: Rye spices, toast, and Rhum Agricole's grassy notes, with oak expressions of tobacco and coffee.

Palate: Extremely oily with peanut, coconut, and tea tree oils, evolving into creaminess with soy milk. Notes of lemonade and sunflower seeds nod to the madeira barrels.

Finish: Apricot brandy casks bring passionfruit and plum, while minerality combines with chalk dust, flint, paraffin, and cedar smoke.

The Kentucky Owl St. Patrick’s Limited Edition is a blend of Kentucky Straight Bourbons varying in age from 4 – 8 years old each coming in with their own unique flavor characteristics.

Rich caramel and vanilla from some more rare well aged Bourbons. Spice and fruit from Bourbons with a higher rye content, and a feel of sweetness and citrus from Wheated Bourbon. All carefully mingled to bring out a robust, well balanced Bourbon experience.​

The Cream of Kentucky brand was originally introduced in 1888 by I. Trager & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Just prior to the end of Prohibition, the brand was acquired by the famed Schenley Company and subsequently re-introduced in 1934. Through the 1930s and 1940s Cream of Kentucky grew to become one of the leading bourbon brands, with renowned artist Norman Rockwell provided much of the award winning artwork for the brand during its heyday. Cream of Kentucky is now owned by J.W. Rutledge, and Jim has recently purchased a limited supply of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey he feels is worthy of the rebirth of Cream of Kentucky Bourbon as a premium whiskey.

Sourced from Bosché, Sycamore, and Red Barn Ranch, this wine displays all the classic notes of the Rutherford AVA. The aromatics conjure up notions of dark chocolate, black cherry, fresh cedar, and graphite. The palate is rich and complexly layered with flavors of espresso, plum pie, blackberry and forest floor. The tannins are reminiscent of Rutherford dust; structured, dusty and well integrated, making this wine lovely now with the ability to cellar well for decades.

TASTING NOTES: Orange jam on the nose with flavors of vanilla. A dry lingering finish backed with baked apples with a creamy texture.

The name Labiette Castille comes from two specific localities belonging to the village of Sorbets (Gers, France) that are called: “Labiette” on the western part of the vineyards, and “Castille”, to the east. Our logotype represents a Knight of the King, paying tribute to the most famous musketeer D’Artagnan.

Our house was founded in the late 19th century by a native family of Sorbets and is owned by the Lesgourgues family since the mid-1970’s.

Grapes
The house uses the main grape varieties coming from the vineyard located in the Bas Armagnac. Predominantly Baco 22A and Ugni Blanc, and secondary Colombard and Folle Blanche.

Wines
The white wines obtained offers good acidity and low alcohol content that are suitable for traditional distillation.

Distilling
The wines are distilled in a continuous “Armagnacais” column still: this is the perfect way for distilling our wines in Armagnac, hence capturing most of the flavors contained in the wines. Each grape varietal is distilled separately, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the autumn season until Christmas time.

The freshly “brandy” comes out from the column still at around 60% alcohol.

Aging
The “brandies” are then stored in French oak barrels (430L each).
The Labiette Castille Armagnacs age in 100% local Gascony oak. These casks will fit best our Armagnacs, giving them time to grow and to capture the genuine flavors and tannins from the oak. Annually, the cask will lose about 3% of evaporation. This qualitative phenomenon is known as “Angel’s share” (la Part des Anges in French).

Blending
Our cellar master, with the members of the Lesgourgues family, oversees the blending (“assemblage”) choosing the different eaux-de-vie that will be making the future Armagnac.
This blending mission is critical in the house’s capacity to create the most exquisite yet singular Armagnacs.

Bottling
All of our Armagnacs are progressively reduced in alcohol, and most of them are bottled at 40% alc after a non-chilled filtration.

Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac VS

Produced in the most coveted region of Bas Armagnac, the Labiette Castille Bas Armagnac VS is a blend of 15 different brandies, each from 3 to 5 years old.  This Armagnac VS is soft and round, with aromas of orange blossom, hyacinth, pear, and honey!  Perfect for outstanding craft cocktails. Also, serve as an aperitif with tonic and a slice of lime - or neat on ice or slightly chilled.  

Produced on the famed estate of Chateau de Laubade, the largest and most-awarded family Armagnac estate in France, this Armagnac is fully traceable from vineyard to bottle.  All four varieties of grapes used in its production - Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, Baco, and Colombard - are grown, vinified, aged, and blended on the 260-acre estate under the watchful eyes of the Lesgourgues family who have owned the estate since 1974.
