The whisky has been matured in ex-Sherry and Bourbon Casks and is bottled at 46% Vol without chill filtration or the addition of any colouring.

As one of the first of the new wave of distilleries to reach maturity, we are delighted to share our oldest age statement with you every year. We hope that you will continue to join us in celebrating our whisky and Lochranza Distillery as the years continue to go by, and we celebrate each year with a new release of our oldest Single Malt.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich oak with a gentle nutmeg note. Sweeter aromas of baked ripe figs, sultanas and black cherries.  

Palate: Fruit cake with toasted almonds and cinnamon. The juicy zestiness of oranges and mandarins mellows perfectly with manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and an interesting white pepper note that provides even more complexity.

Finish: Creamy and spicy with dark chocolate, walnuts and dark fruits compote.

SIX FACETS, ONE COOPERAGE

No. 6 brings together the art of whisky making with Lalique exquisite craftsmanship to create a stunning whisky encased in the finest crystal decanter. This rich, complex single malt takes its unique natural color and character from first fill sherry seasoned oak casks from Spain, handcrafted by the master craftsmen of Jerez de la Frontera, the home of sherry. The casks are taken from a single cooperage in order to ensure the infinite quality and character at the heart of this rich single malt. The cooperage exclusively creates Spanish oak casks which, once seasoned with sherry, create the unique flavor of this exquisite whisky. Rich in spice and dried fruit with a layer of heady orange groves, this is an enticing, dark, whisky that delivers classic Macallan character.

THE EXPERIENCE

COLOUR: Spanish Sunset

NOSE: Raisin, dates and figs dominate whilst sultana and toffee apples add texture and depth. The weight of flavour from the raisins is dark and rich with great viscosity. Dry ginger and soft cinnamon hint at the edges the edges. Dark chocolate is majestic, vanilla sweetness lingers in the background.

PALATE: Heavy and sumptuous. A rich fruit cake of raisin, dates and figs, apples, sultanas, orange then ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and hints of clove. Oak notes are like velvet, soft and chic.

FINISH: Silky smooth with a long and full finish.

Additive Free, Small Batch, & Delicious

Sit back. Relax. Sip it slowly. This is a very special tequila made to be savored.

We only use the most mature and sweetest Blue Weber Agave, matched with a blend of spring, rain and deep well water (+450 feet). Our Agaves are then cooked in a traditional stone oven for 22 hours and crushed by an innovative handmade tahona named “Frankenstein.” We use copper pot stills for both distillations. Our Volans ultra premium Blanco tequila is unaged, our Volans ultra premium single barrel reposado is aged for under a year, and our extra añejo is aged for three and a half years in used American oak bourbon casks. Plus, our tequila is verified 100% additive free by Tequila Matchmaker – with no added flavors, colors, aromas or chemicals. We are a small family business, bringing the best tasting craft sipping tequila to spirit lovers like yourself who enjoy a more refined taste.

Volans Extra Añejo is a limited edition tequila aged for over 3 1/2 years in used American White Oak Barrels. The color is lighter than normal extra añejos due to the age of our barrels (20+ years). Although light in color, it shows every bit of character you want in an extra añejo, including agave.

Blanton’s Gold Edition was created for discerning bourbon aficionados who appreciate exceptional smoothness and complexity in their bourbon whiskey. The nose is first marked by spicy rye and tobacco notes.  Caramel and honey follow soon after, mingled with dark fruit and citrus notes. The palate emulates the same complex nose with rye, tobacco, and honey at the forefront. Round and bold notes of charred oak and vanilla carry you through to an extremely long and harmonious finish. Our first cooperage collaboration celebrates the forward-thinking West Virginia Great Barrel Company. Our synergy in modern production led to a custom blend aged in cherry wood barrels toasted with infrared technology. This truly unique flavor exemplifies the potential of two brands at the forefront of innovation.

TASTING NOTES

Having crafted an iconic rum “house” from humble beginnings, our founders, decided to pour all of their skills and knowledge into creating a rum to mark the 25th anniversary of its origin. Little did they know that almost 60 years later, that rum would be the most awarded their country would ever produce, having won more Gold and Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition than any other Venezuelan rums.

To craft this rum, our founders disrupted the usual way of rum making and added Ex-Sherry casks to the array of Ex-Bourbon barrels that were already used. Thus Pampero Aniversario is created from our “Exclusive Reserve”: our rarest, most complex rums.

To honour this, we created one of the most distinctive bottles on the bar, wrapped in the history and story of the Llanero (Venezuelan Cowboy), our icon.
