LA COLONIAL REPOSADO SMOOTH & SMOKY

This is the second volume in our limited-edition series celebrating the Sauza family legacy. Inspired by La Colonial Club, founded in the 1930s by the second Don of Sauza, Don Eladio. Using traditional processes of the era, including tahona stones to crush the agave, this cask-strength Reposado offers notes of vanilla and smoke, in celebration of the late nights at La Colonial Club.

Jameson Black Barrel is our tribute to our coopers, who painstakingly give their bourbon barrels an additional charring to reveal their untold richness and complexity. Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled 2022 Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks is the fifth annual special release. This year’s special release celebrates a brand new grain bill from the Jack Daniel Distillery - 100% malted barley. This is a one-of-a-kind experience crafted from the highest quality malted barley, charcoal mellowed, and twice barreled for a complex taste. This special release is first aged in brand new, American white oak barrels and then finished in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and bottled in its truest form, straight from the cask, with the proof ranging from 106.1-107.8.

Tasting Notes

This chestnut-colored drink has a sweet aroma of brown sugar, fruity notes, and a hint of vanilla and plum. Its palate boasts a blend of sweet vanilla, plum, dark chocolate, and oak. The finish is a delightful mix of spices, pepper, clove, dark chocolate, and sweet fruit.

“Over the past several years, Dovetail has become a highly regarded expression within the BCS portfolio of products and the American Whiskey world,” said BCS Founder Joe Beatrice. “Following the recent success of BCS Gray Label Dovetail, we decided to apply the concept of ‘Dovetail’ to our oldest, rarest stocks. We left these component whiskeys in their finishing casks even longer and included some very high proof barrels to create a blend with an intensity matched only by its nuance and layering.”

Founded in 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky, BCS selects and blends products that explore different distillation methods, barrels and aging environments, and bottles them at cask strength. BCS’s extensive stocks of high-quality casks mean they can craft extraordinary blends that maximize the nuances of each ingredient. Creative finishes, a liberated approach to blending, and a deep-seated commitment to releasing each whiskey at cask strength guides every product release.

Naturally aged for at least four and a half years, the bold and full-bodied blend of DUSSE VSOP Cognac is made from a selection of the finest eaux-de-vie, including some that were carefully matured in the cellars of the Cha^teau de Cognac. The result is a uniquely powerful Cognac that begins with bold intensity and finishes pleasantly smooth and balanced.

Natural humidity of the cellars impacts evaporation and maintains the perfect balance of humidity, dryness and temperature, unique aging conditions found only at the Cha^teau de Cognac. Produced using the Charentaise method - slow double-distillation in copper stills.The lees (spent yeast cells) are kept in the wine to add additional depth and character to the eau-de-vie.

Led by then Master of Maturation, Kevin O’Gorman, the two prerequisites for the project were to source Irish oak in a sustainable way, viable for the long-term, and to craft a new and outstanding style of Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey.

This whiskey is a range of releases that have been matured in barrels made from virgin Irish oak from particular forests across Ireland. The oak selected for each release influences this special whiskey with the true and unique flavour of Ireland.

Its provenance told in each sublime sip, this is the tale of our native oak striking harmony with the classically rich and spicy Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey character. This is a whiskey like no other.

This whiskey is made from a carefully selected blend of corn, rye, and malted barley, which is then distilled in copper pot stills and aged in new American oak barrels. The whiskey is aged for a minimum of four years, which allows it to develop its unique and complex flavor profile.

The flavor profile of Nelson Bros Reserve Bourbon is characterized by notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak, which are balanced by a subtle spiciness and a hint of smokiness. The whiskey has a smooth and velvety texture, with a long and satisfying finish.

One of the things that sets Nelson Bros Reserve Bourbon apart from other whiskeys is the attention to detail that goes into every bottle. The whiskey is bottled at cask strength, which means that it is not watered down before bottling, and each bottle is hand-labeled and hand-numbered.

After RUMRYE we move on to RUMZCAL bridging categories and creating a unique flavour combination aiding bartenders and consumers to a new split-base in one bottle. We have brought together our original dark-aged rum with an authentic taste of Mexico… Mezcal!

RUMZCAL 99 marries a 66 % Ron Colón Dark Aged Rum together with a 33% Mezcal finished at a 99 proof. The Lopez Real distillery, which is a 4th generation family business, processes the Maguey Espadin from Oaxaca.

The Prisoner Red Blend was inspired by the wines first made by the Italian immigrants who originally settled in Napa Valley. The Prisoner is now the most recognized red blend, leading the resurgence of interesting blends by incorporating Zinfandel with the unlikely mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Charbono. Bright aromas of ripe raspberry, vanilla, and coconut give way to flavors of fresh and dried blackberry, pomegranate, and vanilla, which linger harmoniously for a smooth and luscious finish.

Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Petite Sirah, Charbono

Aroma: Black Cherry, Vanilla, Ripe Plum

Tasting Notes: Blackberry, Cocoa, Baking Spice

Cool coastal influence abounds in this Chardonnay, brimming with fresh energy. Perfumed citrus swirls with pear, crushed almond, and an earthy, wet-stone minerality expressing the region's savory appeal. Juicy citrus on the palate gives way to complex layers of white stone fruit and herbs, while a backbone of vivid acidity carries the wine through a beautifully textured finish.

WINEMAKER NOTES

VINTAGE 
The 2021 vintage gave us beautiful wines by way of a challenge. In the second year of our most recent drought, winter brought only small, infrequent rains on the Sonoma Coast, followed by widely fluctuating early-spring temperatures. The dearth of moisture and mixed weather messages slowed canopy development, and ultimately resulted in smaller clusters. Patience and hopeful perseverance paid off, though, as mild temperatures prevailed through the end of the growing season, encouraging even, optimal ripening. Small berries resulted in lower yields, but when the grapes began hitting the crush pad—slightly earlier than usual in August—the superb quality of the small vintage was clear, in outstanding purity, complex flavors, and dense textures.

To craft this wine, we work with vineyards from like-minded growers that reflect the energy and purity of this coastal and natural region. Some of our long-standing vineyard partners are Anderson-Ross Vineyard, Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, and Bohan Ranch, along with our Camp Meeting Ridge Estate.
