The clear fruit brandies of France also known as eau de vie, which translates to “water of life”. Most European countries have a local term for the clear, bone-dry brandies distilled from the regional fruit. Usually bottled at around 80 proof, these spirits are typically served at the end of a meal, or between courses, as the perfect digestif. These fruit brandies are traditionally un-aged to maintain the wonderful intensity of the fruit. The heart of Clear Creek’s product line is our fruit brandies, which are all made according to old world techniques traditionally used in Europe. We use only pure, whole Pacific Northwest grown fruit. Our flagship Pear Brandy takes 20 lbs of pears to make one 750 ml bottle.

Derived from the carefully chosen yield of fully ripened, hand-selected fruits, G.E. Massenez crafts an exclusive essence extracted from the fermented mash. The Prisonere Pear captivates with its aromatic and taste characteristics, enclosed within a bottle shaped like a pear containing an entire fruit. This unique method involves affixing the bottle to a blossoming pear tree, nurturing the fruit's growth inside. Once matured, the fruit and bottle are gently separated. The Williams Pear Eau-de-Vie from Massenez boasts exceptional sophistication, potency, and harmony, delivering a profound sensation that faithfully embodies the essence of the original fruit.

The Argonauts of the Gold Rush were charmed and captivated by Sam Brannan’s claim of gold in the American River. His proclamation proved the catalyst to a new era in American history, accelerating Westward expansion. For this Second Edition of The Claim, our pioneering distiller Rita Hansen pulled from these special stocks to create a magnificent blend of the rarest and most unique California Brandies.

TASTING NOTES

The Second Edition of The Claim has a lush aroma of plum and cherry, with notes of dried fruit leather, apple, brown spice, and toasted oak. The deep red fruit flavors carry over to the palate, complemented by layers of dried fig, apple pie, and baking spice. The long finish is rich and elegant, with seamlessly integrated fruit and oak.

A masterfully blended spirit made with locally sourced grapes from sun-drenched California vineyards. With Calisco we have intentionally blended individually distilled grape varietals to produce a spirit that pays homage to the world’s finest brandies, cognacs, and piscos while fully embodying the tradition and terroir of California.

THE AROMA
Soft, yet full bodied, Calisco leads with enticing aromatics reflective of the individual grape varietals in its blend. Warm and bright citrus notes lean into richer notes of cacao, dark fruits, white almond and fresh herbs.

THE TASTE
Sophisticated, yet fun and playful like the Spirit of California itself. Aromas reveal floral and herbaceous notes of jasmine and honeysuckle with satsuma mandarin, bergamot, green apple and asian pear.
Soft, yet full bodied with a round mouthfeel that enriches the complex palate of sea brine, cucumber and honeydew melon, lemon verbena and eucalyptus which evolves into a rich finish of blueberry, lavender and chocolate, wrapped in subtle spice notes of Ceylon cinnamon bark and white pepper.

THE FINISH
Soft, yet full bodied, Calisco leads with enticing aromatics reflective of the individual grape varietals in its blend. Warm and bright citrus notes lean into richer notes of cacao, dark fruits, white almond and fresh herbs.

SLIVOVITZ SILVER KOSHER FOR PASSOVER

A high-quality, three times distilled plum brandy made the same way for centuries, preserving R. Jelinek’s long-dated recipe. Kosher for Passover Silver Slivovitz, made of the best well-matured plums, has smooth, slightly almond taste.

Fundador Supremo 18 was named the Best Brandy in the World 2019 at the IWSC Awards. The world’s expert tasters gave us the highest award in the competition, among the more than 100 brandies submitted. This Solera Gran Reserva has aged in casks that have contained 18-year-old Oloroso Sherry, which gives this brandy the category of Ultra Premium.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Intense amber with a golden rim, luminous and bright. Its notes of wood stand out, providing an elegant and persistent finish.

AROMA: Warm, round, with notes of nuts and toasted nuances. Complex and structured.

TASTE: Smooth, powerful with very persistent notes of vanilla, walnuts and nuts. Harmonious, vinous and rounded, with very complex nuances due to its long evolution in wood seasoned with very old Olorosos.

FINISH: Aftertaste with notes of wood that provide an elegant and persistent finish.

Named after founder Joe Wagner’s son, Bishop, this apple brandy is a nod to Spanish lore, when California was considered to be the legendary Garden of Eden. The serpent on top of the cork is a reminder of what can happen when paradise is lost.
