ABOUT THE RELEASE

This exceptional single malt whisky has been created by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell to reflect the character of James Bond. A force of nature defined by his Scottish heritage, he carries himself with modesty and humility. 

Like James Bond, the expression exudes a sense of style and maturity which has evolved over the years. The whisky is consistent within all six bottles.

The collection is an exhibition of the most iconic moments across the six decades of Bond; each decade encapsulated on its own packaging. Bringing to life the innovations and inventions of James Bond across the years, the packaging has been colour washed with one of the trending colours of the decade it represents.

DECADE II

The 1970s saw the rise of Roger Moore’s Bond. He brought different, mischievous facets and humour to the character, cheering up a somewhat dire decade. 

A man for the times, he overcame filmic adversaries with elegant aplomb.  While the business of making movies remained as serious as whisky distilling, he reminded us that life is about enjoyment of the finer, better still the finest, of all that it offers.  

The packaging design includes sketches and storyboards from The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Stromborg’s Atlantis marine research lab, and various space station concepts from Moonraker (1979).

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Fresh and vibrant notes of lemon and lime, a sprinkle of sherbet, leading into a sweet vanilla and coconut, with a hint of dried fig and raisin.

PALATE: Orange zest and fizzy sherbet with a lemon freshness, gentle oak and subtle ginger spice, leading into a deep dark chocolate, figs and baked apple tart with a honey drizzle.

FINISH: Sweet and long with complexed layers.

The Kilchoman whisky distillery has released a new limited edition single malt that has been finished for 9 months in mezcal casks sourced from Oaxaca, Mexico. This Royal Mile Whisky exclusive is the first mezcal cask whisky released by Kilchoman and has garnered attention among whisky enthusiasts. Despite being produced in Oaxaca, mezcal is also made in other regions of Mexico such as Durango, Guerrero, San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas, and Puebla. However, the use of the term "mezcal" is regulated by the Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) and certification can be costly, leading some producers to use alternative terms like "agave spirits" or "destilados de agave". While some may perceive these alternative labels as inferior, many of the best examples of mezcal come from small-scale producers who cannot afford certification and who believe that "mezcal" is a way of life and tradition rather than a state-controlled designation.

Its complex nose exhibits preserved lemon, smoked baked apples, green bell peppers, toffee, and honey, while the palate delivers tangy notes of lime, apple, syrupy pineapple, and chilli pepper heat. The finish is medium to long in length with peat smoke and lingering pineapple sweetness. While the whisky loses some of its definition when diluted, it remains a top-notch representation of the unique interplay between mezcal casks and Kilchoman's signature peated Islay whisky.

Named after another lost distillery of Campbeltown (which once operated right next door to Springbank and whose warehouse now houses our bottling hall), Longrow was first produced in 1973 to provide a peaty, oily and robust component to a blend being created at the time. More heavily peated and double distilled, it has been a staple in the production calendar since the 1990s. Longrow Peated offers those who enjoy a heavily peated whisky the chance to enjoy a lingering, smoky taste that travels through the senses like the smoke billows from a kiln. Matured in Bourbon and Sherry Casks

Nose: Very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops gradually, rather than overpowering the other aromas present. Toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time.

Palate: Incredibly well balanced; rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves, like the soft billows of smoke from the Kiln.

Finish: The gentle smoke lingers and lingers leaving you yearning for more.

TASTING NOTES

AROMA: Refreshing fruity nose exhibiting tropical and apple notes with a healthy dose of salt and citrus, similar to that of fresh agave.

TASTE: The palate is semi-viscous and peppery with ripe fruit tones giving way to crisp citrus notes and a hint of vanilla.

FINISH: Wonderfully balanced finish with long lasting citrusy, peppery, and herbaceous notes.

Strega Liqueur, born in Benevento, was created in 1860 by a clever, forward-looking entrepreneur. Strega, obtained by the distillation of about 70 herbs and spices from all over the world, is a whole natural product. Its unique, yet versatile flavour can be enjoyed in many ways: neat, icy or mixed in more sophisticated long drinks and cocktails.

Strega liqueur is one of the most famous Italian liqueurs , it is unique and unmistakable for its taste, thanks to the exclusive use of natural ingredients. Its processing starts with the grinding of about 70 herbs and spices, they are being selected from all over the world, and each one of them has unique properties. A premium mezcal that is handcrafted in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. The mezcal is made from agave Espadin, which is harvested by hand and roasted in an underground pit oven, or "palenque," using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations.

Once the agave is roasted, it is crushed by a horse-drawn tahona, which is a large stone wheel that is used to extract the juice from the agave fibers. The juice is then fermented in open-air vats using wild yeast, which gives the mezcal its unique flavor profile.
