Founded in 1772 by Philippe Cliquot from a wealthy banking family, his son Franois married Barbe Nicole Ponsardin. Sadly she was widowed at just 27 so took over the stewardship of the champagne company, something she proved very good at.

In the 1650s, a Dutch doctor named Franciscus Sylvius was searching for a remedy to the kidney and stomach ailments that he often encountered in his practice of internal medicine. At the time, Dr. Sylvius was a Professor of Medicine in Leyden, and he attempted to infuse juniper berries into a spirit distilled from grain in order to create a panacea. The resulting elixir eventually became known as gin, and was so popular that within a few decades, the Dutch were exporting 10 million gallons annually. For the next 250 years, nearly all the gin produced in the world was barrel-aged since the spirit was stored and transported in oak barrels (at the time, glass was too fragile and plastic and stainless steel containers were still not available). In order to craft a more traditional gin, "we've rested our signature vapor basket gin in our charred oak barrels previously used to age our spiced rum," says Darek Bell, the founder and master distiller at Corsair Artisan Distillery. Since opening its doors in 2009, Corsair has received numerous accolades and awards, including being named the 2013 Craft Distillery of the Year and 2013 Innovator of the Year by Whisky Magazine. As a result of this barrel aging, together with its citrus-heavy botanical recipe, the gin has a bold aroma of cola, anise, sweet spices and and oak. The aroma gives way to notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, citrus and candied nuts on the palate, and finishes with a touch of ginger and licorice. Once the gin has matured, each bottle is filled, labeled and then boxed by hand. "We make less in a year than a big distillery spills in a day," says Clay Smith, Corsair's Distillery Manager. Corsair Barrel Aged Gin earned the Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2011.

THE BENROMACH STORY

We are a traditional Speyside distillery owned by a family of whisky-lovers intent on making single malt the right way with true character.

We keep things simple. A handful of distillers relying entirely on our expertise and senses to make the finest handmade whisky; Speyside single malt matured exclusively in first-fill casks, with a subtly smoky character. It takes just four ingredients – barley, water, yeast, and a human touch.

All of our casks are hand-filled, individually weighed, stenciled by hand, and stowed in our traditional dunnage warehouses. Why? Because at Benromach we believe making whisky by hand guarantees genuine character.

OUR HISTORY

Our family, the Urquharts of Elgin, have always been passionate about whisky. Our ancestor John began laying down casks of single malt at different distilleries in 1915, when everyone else was blending their whiskies.

It was the realization of a long-held dream when we acquired Benromach Distillery in 1993. Five years of meticulous refitting of the distillery followed before HRH Prince Charles officially reopened our doors in 1998.

Time well spent creating a style of single malt reminiscent of the days before commercial maltings. A time when Speyside distilleries malted their own barley using peat to fuel the fires and impart a distinctive touch of smoke to their whiskies. The resurrection of Benromach Distillery signaled the rediscovery of a lost style of Speyside single malt.

Maker Notes

Tequila Gran Dovejo is a small-batch, traditionally crafted, tequila made from 100%  of the finest, estate grown blue agaves that are exclusively grown and produced in the highlands of Jalisco by the Feliciano Vivanco Family. The acidic, iron rich soil in this region known as the golden triangle of the highlands, is ideal for growing large agaves with high sugar content. At peak maturity the agave is harvested, the heart of the agave (pina) is hand selected, then slowly cooked in traditional brick ovens for a minimum of 36 hours at a temperature of 194 degrees Fahrenheit. Once roasted, they are milled in order to extract the sweet juices. The juices are isolated and then fermented with the use of “Prise de Mousse”, champagne yeast, and wild yeast strands pulled from the estate agaves themselves.

Reposado: Aged an average of 9 months in used bourbon barrels, bottled at 80 Proof.

A manifesto for tradition
The historic wine of Ferrari Trento is a Trentodoc that is the product of 100% Chardonnay grapes and of their incomparable synergy with the mountains of Trentino.

COLOUR AND PERLAGE: A lively, bright straw yellow. The perlage is fine and persistent.

NOSE: A fresh and intense bouquet, with a broad fruity note of ripe Golden Delicious apples, white flowers and a delicate scent of yeast, deriving from 20 months’ ageing in bottle.

TASTE: Harmonious and well-balanced, with a faint suggestion of ripe fruit and attractive hints of crusty bread.

This wonderful bourbon is bottled as close to barrel proof as possible. We add just a splash of our Kentucky limestone well-water when we empty the barrels for bottling. Thus, this whiskey is as smooth as any you will find.

See a rich, copper color. Smell enticingly sweet, spicy, caramel-nut-fudge aromas. Enjoy a fruity, medium-to full-bodied palate with intense dried fruit and toasted nuts notes. HISTORY

Born in the Highlands of Jalisco, and raised in the Valleys of Tequila. Don Fulano is a product of the Fonseca family whose story begins in the Highlands of Jalisco where their great grandfathers began cultivating agave 140 years ago. Today - respected agave farmers – they also run La Tequileña, one of the highest-rated and most awarded tequila distilleries.

Don Fulano Reposado is the great representative of the spirit of Don Fulano: a marriage of mature highland agave with French limousine oak. It’s rich and buttery, yet strangely delicate and ethereal at the same time. Cooked agave fully expresses itself and blends seamlessly with an herbal sweetness, hints of mature fruit compote, and dark chocolate. There’s also a slight spice element that emerges from its delicate finish. A joy to sip on its own, paired with food, or in a great cocktail.

Three barrel small batch blends (all numbered sequentially). Blends vary 6-8 years of age. Always bottled at 108 proof. 600 - 750 Bottles average batch yield. 95% Rye, 5% malted barley. Originally distilled in Indiana, Finished, blended and bottled in Lexington, KY. Each blend is unique.
