A beautiful mix of red and blue fruit on the nose unfolds with distinctive layers of violets, spice notes, and the fresh, haunting quality of an evergreen forest. Hints of blueberries join a burst of cherry on the palate, grounded and brightened in equal measure by fine-grained tannins and deliciously juicy acidity.

To craft this wine, we work with vineyards from like-minded growers that reflect the energy and purity of this coastal and natural region. Some of our long-standing vineyard partners are Anderson-Ross Vineyard, Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, and Bohan Ranch, along with our Camp Meeting Ridge Estate. 

Maker Notes

This remarkable release comprises two Single Casks, both filled in 1968. These Glenrothes Single Malt Scotch Whiskies have spent their entire lives – nearly 50 years – maturing in the same oak casks.

The relationship between this individual cask, the distillate and the surrounding air, brings about a marvellous kind of alchemy; each cask yields a whisky that is slightly different from those around it. Thus, despite being distilled on the same day in November 1968, our two casks display distinct differences, whilst sharing characteristics of the Glenrothes distilling style – famously laden with ripe fruits, juicy citrus, creamy vanilla and hints of exotic spice.

This duo represents our first Glenrothes Single Malt release. Two more releases from 1969 and 1970 – each also comprising slightly different Single Casks – followed in 2019 and 2020, thereby completing a unique Glenrothes trilogy of wonderful whiskies.

CHARLES MACLEAN’S TASTING NOTES – CASK NO. 13504

Amber with long-lingering beading. A mellow nosefeel, with slight prickle after a while. The highly perfumed initial aroma – scented hand-cream, attar of roses, carnations – reduces in time, infused by notes of almond oil and oak shavings, with a trace of vanilla. A drop of water enhances the wood notes. A smooth texture and a sweet taste, drying in the spicy finish, with a suggestion of Friar’s Balsam medicine and a cooling mentholic aftertaste.

In Kentucky, buffalo carved a pathway followed by America’s first explorers. Those brave pioneers distilled whiskey using traditional methods and drank it right off the still. They called it White Dog. This raw distillate was clear, un-aged and had a hint of sweet corn. Later distillers discovered this spirit was perfect for aging - creating what we know today as fine Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. We’re still making whiskey on the spot where ancient buffalo once crossed the Kentucky River and following centuries of time-honored distilling tradition. Enjoy this White Dog the way Americans did more than 200 years ago.

Two James is located in Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood, and is the first licensed distillery in Detroit since Prohibition. The hazelnut and dried raisin notes are results of our proprietary Madeira Barrique finishing. KEY INGREDIENTS
The story of Fever-Tree is one of a pursuit for the best. In 2004, unhappy with the poor state of spirit mixers, founders Tim and Charles began trawling through history books and poring over maps to find sources of the very best ingredients, eventually travelling to the ends of the earth to get hold of them. Our Indian Tonic Water still uses quinine from the deep forests of the Democratic Republic of Congo, found by Tim and Charles on one of their first trips.

Marqus de Casa Concha wines were created as a tribute to the title conferred upon the Concha y Toro family in 1718 by King Felipe V of Spain. The wines are single vineyard, estate bottled wines made in limited production with grapes grown in the prime vineyards of the Central Valley. Marqus de Casa Concha wines embody Concha y Toro's tradition in the art of winemaking, and are consistently awarded 90 point ratings from top US wine publications.

KEY INGREDIENTS
To achieve the smooth, full-bodied taste of our Spiced Orange Ginger Ale, we selected three types of ginger for their complementary, yet distinctive, flavour profiles. From Cochin in India, we source a variety that lends a warm and spicy flavour. From the Ivory Coast, we get a fresh green ginger that has an incredible lemongrass freshness. Finally, our Nigerian ginger brings a deep, intense flavour to the blend. To this, we add cinnamon and clementine to bring a delicious sweetness to the drink.

The nose is very expressive with notes of wild strawberry, cherry and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is beautifully supple. Tannins are silky and the tasty finish reveals notes of black pepper, red fruits and a hint of eucalyptus.

The Blend
Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre

Extra Viejo is skillfully blended by our Maestros using our carefully selected, older reserves from white American oak casks that previously held bourbon. Extra Viejo is the perfect signature of Brugal’s distinctive smooth style. The rich amber liquid has a rounded woody spiciness, notes of orange peel and hints of vanilla, creating a fuller flavor profile and long balanced finish.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Bright and clean, with deep, rich ambers.

Nose: A symphony of natural and beautiful notes: wood, dried fruits, almonds, cocoa, vanilla, orange peel, caramel and molasses.

Palate: An elegant taste that first arrives with hints of vanilla, caramel and touches of honey. It is followed by sweet spices and rich cocoa.

Aftertaste: Lingering in the mouth with a peppery finish. A cool feeling to the nose contrasts with warmer notes at the beginning.

Rod & Hammer Bourbon, founded by Rodney Rod Cegelski and Hamish Hammer Marshall, is a ten-year-old American classic. It's aged for two years in new American oak barrels, resulting in a smooth whiskey with hints of caramel, roasted nuts, corn, and vanilla. Slo Stills, established in 1988 at Slo Brew brewery, crafts spirits with purified Pacific Ocean water. They began distilling whiskey in 2012 using a rye beer mash and aged it in charred new American Oak barrels. The Rod & Hammer Bourbon offers a sweet and smoky aroma, with caramel and vanilla flavors and a smooth finish of sweet corn.

Our flagship spirit, this bourbon is made from 100% Jimmy Red corn, a magenta-hued landrace grain grown for decades on James Island and nearly lost forever. For 9 years, we’ve worked with a team of researchers and farmers to rebuild a secure seed supply for the most flavorful whiskey corn we’ve ever tasted. Aged a minimum of two years in char 3.5 American oak barrels, this bourbon is best enjoyed in a proper whiskey glass neat or with perhaps one cube of ice.

Boxergrail Single Barrel

For our second Single Barrel release, we have hand-selected casks from an extremely limited number of Boxergrail Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey barrels. Each is a study in patience and creativity. To complement this one-of-a-kind whiskey, the packaging for each season of barrel releases will be unique and feature a different series of six original Limited Edition illustrations commissioned by our Founder, Kaveh Zamanian. The result is a true work of art inside and out that could only be bottled at cask strength.

Emancipation, a California produced Rhne varietal blend, challenges the norms and intrigues from the first sip by bringing together Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre with Petite Sirah. This wine is smooth, bright and juicy, yet delicate and refined. Bright red cherry on the front of the palate leads to a briary herbaceous quality on the finish. This blend is palate coating, with a long, lingering finish and structure to pair well with rich foods.

Crafthouse Classic Cocktails are made from the highest quality all-natural ingredients. They All of our ready to drink cocktails contain no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. 

We use only exceptional spirits, collaborating with the finest producers (many of whom are our friends). You will never find malt, low-grade grain neutral spirits or unnamed “brewed alcohols” in our pre-mixed cocktails. 

Each Crafthouse Classic Cocktail is made just as it would be at a cocktail bar. We simply make them in larger batches. It is important to note that unlike many RTD’s (ready to drink) in the market, our cocktails each have their own ABV (alcohol by volume). You would never expect a Moscow Mule and an Old Fashioned to contain the same percentage alcohol, would you? 

Our cocktails in cans are not watered down. They have full and distinct flavor while still maintaining an accessible profile. Carefully curating our lineup, we worked diligently to provide something for every taste, occasion and mood. 

In alignment with our team’s individual concern for the impact on the environment, Crafthouse Cocktails strives to make sustainable decisions. We recently moved to 100% recyclable aluminum for our 200mls bottle and are introducing a new 1.75L bag-in-box option with less packaging.
