In 2006, a group of Rye enthusiasts bought a 500-acre Vermont dairy farm, later the home of Master Distiller Dave Pickerell. After military service and leadership roles, including at Maker's Mark, Pickerell pursued his passion for rye whiskey. Motivated by the historical significance of rye in America, he crafted PiggyBack, a 100% rye with a powerful, spicy profile from six years in oak barrels. This expression, one of Pickerell's final creations, offers a complex, smooth character at 96.56 proof, a tribute to the year of his birth, 1956. Ideal for any rye cocktail, it embodies Pickerell's vision of the perfect aged Rye Whiskey.

Tasting Notes
Baked cherry, toasted oak, vanilla cream, and hazelnut create a decadent, complex aroma. On the palate, a balance of wood sugar and spice gives way to a lasting finish of coconut, red fruit, and caramel.

Paradigm Rye marries both their comprehensive access to whiskeys across state lines with spirit distilled in Red Hook blended with hand-selected rye whiskeys from Kentucky and Indiana to carry on the tradition of Widow Jane’s unusual Ryes that are both delicate yet a powerful base for classic cocktails. Old Carter is the passion project of “flavor chaser” partners Mark Carter and Sherri Carter, whose beverage industry roots trace back to award-winning careers in the California wine business. After resurrecting the long-dormant bourbon brand Kentucky Owl in 2011, the two were irreversibly hooked on the art of whiskey making and blending. Kentucky Owl sold unexpectedly in 2017, but by then Sherri & Mark were so enamored with the vibrant spirit of Kentucky’s whiskey community, they made a commitment to carry on their love affair with whiskey by making a statement of their own, right in the Bluegrass. And Old Carter Whiskey Co was born.

Forget whiskey, poitín is Ireland’s best kept secret. It’s been knocking around since the 6th century, making it the oldest spirit in the world. Mad stuff.

FACTS & FABLES

First distilled by monks (God bless you lads), the Irish enjoyed their poitín for a thousand years before it was banned by the Brits in 1661. But we’re resilient feckers and poitín never really went away.

It remained part of Irish drinking culture and was given names like Cratur, Mountain Dew, Mountain Tea and Devil’s Spittle. And you always knew a man, who knew a man, that could get you a bottle. Now legal again, poitín can be found on backbars all across Ireland, instead of under the counter.

At Mad March Hare, we use only the finest, locally sourced malted barley and distill three times in small copper pot stills in the traditional way. We then cut the spirit with Irish spring water to 40% ABV resulting in a drink that is full of character and exceptionally smooth. Sláinte!

Extra Añejo Tequilas are aged at least 3 years in barrels, making the product itself at least 10 years old - accounting for the time agave takes to grow, at least 7 years - by the time it touches your glass.  Some extra añejos lean towards a cognac profile if given a heavier aging, while others that are more gently aged, simply are an extension of an añejo profile, but softer, sweeter, and with more presence of oak.  We suggest that these be sipped neat, or enjoyed with a single ice cube.

InSiete Leguas De Antano Extra Anejo tense golden yellow color, with golden shades and full body. It offers to the nose fruity notes and delicate accents to spices. The agave elegantly blends this aromatic harmony, fulfilling its olfactory promise in the mouth. For 5 years, the barrel coat ends up printing its sophisticated style, becoming the frame that highlights its pleasant personality.

Clase Azul Mezcal Guerrero reveals one of Mexico's best-kept secrets: the wondrous state of Guerrero, a little-explored region that shows us yet another facet of Mexican culture. This member of the Clase Azul family was inspired by the singularity of Guerrero’s landscapes, gastronomy, art, and heritage –– but also by the strength and leadership of the women from this region.

Clase Azul Mezcal Guerrero is a truly unique piece. Beyond its beautiful decanter, its majestic flavor comes from a very rare variety of agave: the papalote agave. This plant grows wild in the mountain ranges in the state of Guerrero, where both the coastal climate and the freshness of green forests come through in its flavor profile.

Du Nord is the brainchild of Chris Montana, who decided to open a distillery in his home city of Minneapolis in 2013. It's a family-run operation that combines Chris' city-smarts with Shanelle Montana's country spirit. The craft spirits company has since grown considerably from a garage-type distilling project and works to bring minorities and members of underrepresented communities into their family. The name Du Nord is a tribute to Minnesota's title of "The Star of the North." They offer tours of the Du Nord distillery and operate a Du Nord Cocktail room on the premises. Their lineup currently consists of the L'Etoile Du Nord sipping vodka, Fitzgerald Gin (a London dry and old world style hybrid), Apple Du Nord apple liqueur, and Caf Frieda coffee liqueur. Each and every one of these has garnered awards from some of the most prestigious spirits competitions. Du Nord Mixed Blood Blended Whiskey is the newest member of the Du Nord family. It's an in-house bourbon that has a high-rye mash bill and is blended with sourced whiskeys for a profile that is rye-forward, fruity, spicy, and pleasantly sweet. It's aged for two years before being bottled at 80 proof.
