At Catoctin Creek, we've been making internationally acclaimed spirits, from locally sourced ingredients, right here in Purcellville, Virginia, since 2009. Our flagship product, Roundstone Rye, has been awarded double-gold and gold medals across the globe (London, New York, San Francisco, Chicago), and is a fantastic rye whisky honoring early Virginia production methods, circa 1790

RAGNARÖK RYE

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the passing of Oderus Urungus, and to commemorate his immortal spirit, together with GWAR we are releasing a bottle just for Oderus!

Raise a glass to the memory of Oderus Urungus, the legendary frontman of intergalactic warriors and shock rock legends GWAR.  This special bottling of Ragnarök Rye whisky is a bold and spicy tribute to Oderus's larger-than-life personality and unpapologetic irreverence.  Whether you're a die-hard GWAR fan or just looking for a unique and delicious whisky to enjoy, Ragnarök Rye is as exceptional as the Immortal Corruptor himself ... Hail Oderus!

This 2023 expression has a special label of Oderus Urungus, drawn by Dave Brockie himself, with a commemorative pewter bartop featuring Oderus.  The whisky is our same, 93-point, award-winning 100% rye whisky that has been aged with white oak, sugar maple, and cherrywood, but this year, we've finished the whisky in rum casks as well!  Look for a ridiculously delicious whisky!

RED BUSH is aged in first-fill bourbon barrels for an intense bourbon finish, combined with the signature smoothness of triple-distilled Irish whiskey. RED BUSH is a well-rounded whiskey that is as versatile as it is complex. 

TASTING NOTES

Bushmills RED BUSH is an exceptionally smooth blend of our triple-distilled Irish single malt and fine Irish grain whiskey. Matured in American white oak bourbon casks, this exciting new blend provides a perfect balance of sweet, nutty and vanilla notes with hints of bourbon – which makes for a great choice for those new to Irish whiskey and frequent bourbon drinkers.

Meaning “extra aged” or “vintage”, aged for over 3 years. Perfect balance of sweetness from the Blue agaves, with subtle hints of spice and barrel oak, with a lingering smooth finish.

Naked Diablo’s Extra Añejo is aged to perfection in smaller batches for a minimum of 3 years in 10 year old Bourbon oak barrels. Balanced, rich and Extraordinarily smooth, with astonishing depth. This dark amber tequila is full-bodied and strikes the perfect balance between bourbon, roasted nuts, toasted coconut, and vanilla bean with notes of white pepper and tropical fruits.

It is best experienced neat or simply on the rocks.

The Whistler P.X. I Love You Single Malt is a fantastic example of the decadence of the Pedro Ximénez sherry and the influence this fortified wine’s casks can have on excellent single malt Irish whiskey. Finished for at least 9 months in PX casks this single malt exudes delicious sherry influence. 100% malted barley, initially matured in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in ex-PX Sherry Casks for 9 months.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Fantastically delicious sherry nose. Dried berries, raisins, cherries and sultanas/ golden raisins, with candied orange and sticky brown/ demerara sugar.

PALATE: Wood forward opening, with an incredibly viscous yet crisp palate. The dried fruits and brown sugar from the nose are joined on the palate by walnut, zesty citrus and a hint of leather.

FINISH: Walnut, dried fruits and the subtle wood prickle remain for a lengthy dry finish with a subtle hint of dark chocolate.

The 2020 Patrimony is aging at a leisurely pace, it takes time in the glass to unfold to rich blackberry pie, roasted coffee, chargrill and a shimmery streak of graphite. The velvety palate is packed with sweet berry fruit and savory accents and finishes tightly wound. It's barely nudged in bottle this year and will continue to develop over the next 15+ years.

The 2020 Patrimony Cabernet Sauvignon is nothing short of a blockbuster. This is an uber-concentrated wine that offers explosive aromas of lilac, hibiscus, thyme and dark chocolate. Intense qualities of ripe blackberries, black currant and blueberries accompany a beautiful harmony of flavors that begin with a impressive entry and linger for several minutes. Full-bodied and silky in texture, this wine displays immense elegance backed by a wonderful minerality, all while remaining fresh and vibrant. This wine will reward careful cellaring and bottle aging for decades to come. 97 Points WA

East Imperial

A world-class collection of New Zealand made tonic waters and mixers. All-natural, low sugar, and inspired by a 1903 recipe. The spirit of exploration lies at the heart of East Imperial. We set out to be true to the quinine water found in the tumblers of the early pioneers and settlers in East Africa and East Asia at the turn of the last century. We began with a genuine family history, and worked with the best global distillers and bartenders to create a collection based on tradition with an obsession for exceptional drinking experiences.

Soda Water

To keep with the spirit of discovery that is at the heart of East Imperial, we travelled the world to find the purest, unfiltered spring water to create our Soda Water (aka Seltzer Water or Club Soda). Our water is sustainably sourced from a mineral spring located on the North Island of New Zealand. This high-quality water gives East Imperial the authentic taste of original tonic waters which were also made from the purest springs in East Africa and East Asia at the turn of the last century.

Tasting Notes:
Light, refreshing and effervescent throughout, balanced with an ever so slight salinity to finish.

The Glenfarclas distillery is a family business in its truest sense, having been in the hands of the Grant family for 6 generations. The distillery, which started its operations before 1791 and was first granted a license in 1836, was bought by John Grant in 1865. Grant, a well-known cattle breeder, first leased the distillery to his distant cousin John Smith. When Smith left in 1870 to start the Cragganmore distillery, John's son George took over. In 1890 George died only a year after his father, and left the distillery to his widow and two sons, John and George. George's sons, George S. Grant and John P. Grant incorporated Glenfarclas as a private limited company in 1947, and a few years later George was appointed the chairman of the company, staying at the helm for 52 years. The early years of George's tenure were marked by rapid growth and expansion, with the production doubling due to high demand from blenders. In the late 1960s, demand for whisky started to decline, and Glenfarclas lost its biggest client. George made the wise decision to put aside more stock for the distillery's own bottling instead of relying heavily on the demand from blenders. This resulted in the distillery now having an abundance of aged stock, and their warehouses currently hold casks of the past seven decades. Now the distillery is run by the 5th and 6th generation of the family, still faithful to the vision of creating the finest Highland single malt whisky in the Speyside way. With over 150 years of experience in the family, the distillery produces a traditional Highland malt with a heavy sherry influence using artisan methods handed down through generations. Glenfarclas is one of the few distilleries using direct fired stills, and their six stills are the biggest in Speyside. The spirit is distilled twice before being put in casks, which are kept in traditional dunnage warehouses. Glenfarclas's 10-year expression is aged in the finest European oak casks used once for Oloroso sherry, which are personally picked by John Grant at a family-owned bodega in Spain. The youngest of the eight whiskies in the distillery's aged range has a depth and finish you would expect from a much older drum.

BELA (translated as “white”) is a clear and clean rakija od šljiva (plum rakija) made from a 50-50 blend of hyperlocal, handpicked Čačanska rodna and Čačanska lepotica plums, both native to the region of central/southern Serbia.

With a lower alcohol by volume than PRVA, BELA it is a clean, floral beverage, and gentle on the palate. Though abundant with fruit, it is also pleasantly dry and ridiculously easy to drink.

BELA is reminiscent of slivovitz from more northern European neighbors like Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, but with a distinctive nose and taste that, and in our opinion, just puts anything comparable to shame.

In a blind tasting at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the judges agreed, and awarded it a double gold medal! This is a drink you can sip, slightly chilled like a grappa, and opens entirely new possibilities in the realm of cocktails.

TASTING NOTES

Appearance: Crystal clear

Like our PRVA, BELA is a classic rakija procured through rigorously traditional processes, faithful to a heritage that goes back hundreds of years.

Bold, original, creative. Absolut Vodka launched in New York, 1979. Our transparent and label-less bottle, inspired by an 18th Century medicine bottle, stood out from its tall, flashy, competitors. This was 1970s New York, after all. You had to be different to get noticed.

Inspiration through collaboration

It was something of a first when Absolut started collaborating with artists and thinkers. Our first collaboration was in 1985 with Andy Warhol. The success of the ‘Absolut Warhol’ commission kick-started something of a relay race, with the Absolut baton being passed between some 550 artists since. There are over 850 pieces of Absolut art on display at the “Spritmuseum” in Stockholm - you should come see it sometime.

Advertising, our way

Where other brands created loud, abrasive campaigns, we stuck to our Scandinavian roots - cool, calm, collected. Visual and verbal puns combined with simple, striking imagery, always with our famous bottle’s silhouette somewhere in the ad. We are proud to say this came to be the longest running marketing campaign in advertising history.

Nose: buttery toffee bar with poached pear and vanilla syrup, caramel wafer, candied cinnamon, and clove.

Palate: fruit dominates with spice underneath, making for a perfectly balanced bourbon.

Finish: balanced and layered with sweet and spice slowly drifting away.

Resilient straight bourbon whisky barrels are hand picked single barrels of quality. We are looking for barrels that are well balanced with grain and wood. Barrels that really shine and bring some great flavors to the nose and palate. We enjoy finding these barrels, bottling them up and bringing them forward to our friends and community of whisky enthusiasts.

Resilient Bottled in Bond barrels are hand selected and bottled up in very small batches of maybe four barrels at a time. The High Rye mash bill 60/36/4 from MGP has a complexity to it, an extra dimension of depth that brings a viscosity to the mouth feel and wide range of flavors to the pallet.

Being bottled at 100 Proof is such an enjoyable level for this bourbon.
