Rich, with full ripe black fruit, spice, and smoky, meaty elements, it’s a wine that lovers of bold wines will be captivated by, while still being classy enough to display exquisite table manners, pairing well with a wide variety of food.

TASTING NOTES

Appearance: Bright with a purple-ruby core that lightens at the rim, with thick, heavy moderately stained tears on the glass.

Aroma: Aromatic with ripe plum, fresh mission fig, black currant fruit, vanilla, tobacco leaf, dried violet flower, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus bark, and oak.

Palate: Full-bodied with very ripe black and blue fruits on entry. Boysenberry, blackberry, and black cherry lead to a midpalate that is robust, with savory elements of black olive, cured meat, dried sage, and autumn leaves, surrounded by balanced moderate-plus tannins. The long finish is highlighted by persistent fruit with vanilla, baking spice, black tea, and toasted oak appearing as the finish lingers.

The most herbaceous expression of all, offering a sweet and spicy profile with hints of green chili, grapefruit and fresh agave.

Cask Strength Rye Whiskey: Our Cask Strength Rye Whiskey is a blend of straight high-rye and low-rye mash bills aged 4 to 7 years. The 7-year-old contributes deeper chocolate, hazelnut, and molasses characteristics and the 4-year-old adds bright citrus notes and balanced spice. After our distillers select and blend these straight rye whiskies, they add just a touch of limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909. Cask Strength is complex and perfectly layered, showcasing the transformational art of blending.

The 2021 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is comprised of fruit sourced primarily from the Bob's Ranch Vineyard, as well as the Sangiacomo Vineyard. Bob’s Ranch Vineyard is characterized by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean. Coastal breezes along with low rolling hills and morning fog define this cool climate. The Sangiacomo Vineyard is a certified sustainable vineyard, first planted in 1969. The block we source from is entirely "Old Wente" field selection. The proximity to the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay makes this site ideal for growing Chardonnay.

2021 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay opens with vibrant aromas of lemon zest, fresh apple, crisp peach, and vanilla cream. The palate is round and flavorful, finishing with bright acidity and a note of spicy ginger.

A rarely seen, regal whisky still in the prime ​ of its years, with a rich, sweet nature lightly influenced by long years in cask, and a ​ spicy, peppery finish that comes as a ​ pleasing surprise. Urbane yet determined; sweet and smooth on the surface, but with hot spices bubbling away beneath; quite delicious.

APPEARANCE: Gleaming gold with amber lights.​

BODY: Medium.​

NOSE: Subtly spiced cereal hints and sweetness entwine to suggest ripe tropical mango, papaya, and peapods. Rising through this, traces of hard toffee and light, sustained shavings of oak hint at the spicy intensity on the palate. A splash of water reveals notes of cinnamon bun and salted toffee. Later, these fade appealingly to scented beeswax​.​

PALATE: Silky and smooth-flowing in texture with an intense butterscotch-sweet taste, which mellows into rich caramel toffee. A balancing spicy-dry, oaky intensity appears mid- palate. Adding water softens the honeyed sweetness to creamy-smooth Swiss milk chocolate, with just a little salt mid-palate. Gentle spice now holds the sweetness in check.​​

FINISH: Short and quite intense, with considerable warming chili spice. With water sweeter, the spice reduced.​​​
