About the Brand

Our company’s history begins in 1885, when the descendants of Don Antonio Faustino de Aceves y Casillas built Hacienda La Capilla. Don Antonio Aceves, better known as “Amo Aceves” was the founder of Capilla de Guadalupe, a town that got its name from the town chapel, built in honor of the “Virgin of Guadalupe”. This town rests under the shade of the Cerro Gordo, in the heart of Jalisco Highs, at 7290 feet above sea level, providing excellent conditions for the growing of agave, such as moderate climate and volcanic ground. Don Antonio was a hardworking man and a passionate promoter of quality. His descendants took advantage of the local Agave farming and formally started the company Hacienda la Capilla S.A. de C.V. in the year 1993. Since those days, the growth of agave has been its core business. La Adelita is a partnership bringing a renowned award winning vintner together with a generational family and visionaries in Mexico to create a uniquely pure and traditional tequila that is a 100% estate program.

Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel Bourbon

Rock Hill Farms

Whiskey | Bourbon

The use of wooden barrels to store and transport liquids dates back to 2690 B.C., when ancient Egyptians during the Early Dynastic Period began replacing clay vessels with wooden casks in order to meet the demands of their sprawling civilization. The advantages of wooden barrels were evident not only were they less fragile than clay vessels, but their cylindrical shape allowed them to be rolled rather than carried across short distances. As settlers along the Nile quickly realized, however, barrels made from wooden staves were rather porous any liquids stored in the barrel slowly evaporated as the barrel "breathed." As whiskey ages in wooden casks, it evaporates through the pores of the wood. On average, approximately 2% of aging whiskey is lost to evaporation each year this 2% is commonly referred to as the angel's share. In the United States, federal regulation requires that bourbon be made from a mashbill of at least 51% corn and aged in new, charred oak casks. Bourbon that meets these requirements and that has aged for a minimum of two years may be called straight bourbon. Each bottle of Rock Hill Farms Bourbon is aged about 8 years in a single, new, charred American oak barrel, and is bottled in bond at a robust 100 proof. Made from a mash bill of corn and malted barley, as well as more rye than typical bourbons, Rock Hill Farms Bourbon has a bit of spice to go along with its sweet notes of toasted nuts, fruit, chocolate and marshmallow. The bourbon finishes extremely smooth, with a lingering sweetness. Named for the rich farmland along the Kentucky River that runs outside the Frankfurt distillery where the bourbon is made, Rock Hill Farms Bourbon was called "The World's Greatest Bourbon" by Washingtonian Magazine. In addition, Jim Murray awarded Rock Hill Farms Bourbon 95 points in Whisky Magazine, while Wine Enthusiast rated it 96-100 points.

El Jolgorio Cuixe Mezcal

El Jolgorio

750 ml | 46% ABV
Mezcal
Mezcal forms an important part of rituals, ceremonies, and festivities in villages in our homeland of southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. These celebrations - also known as Jolgorios - always involve mezcal, a drink that spans cultures and bonds families. Fifteen unique El Jolgorio Mezcals are made from different species and varieties of rare agaves by master distillers in remote villages in the Central Valleys region of Oaxaca. Each El Jolgorio label signifies a different agave variety, with each tiny batch released in sequentially numbered editions. Due to the scarcity of wild agaves and the company's commitment to sustainability, the batches rotate, meaning each new edition might be produced by different regional producer within the network of mezcaleros. The label for each consecutive edition bears the name of the mezcalero, village, age of agave at harvest, and number of bottles produced, to connect the drinker with the place of origin and the families behind the spirit.

Agave Cuishe, like its relatives Madrecuishe and Barríl, grows a long, stalk-shaped piña with pencas (or leaves) spreading at the top. Cuishe agaves are often slightly smaller than Madrecuishe. Its dense, dry piña can yield mezcal with great minerality and spice notes. Due to their long, rod-like shape and low moisture content, Cuishe are tricky to harvest and require a mezcalero to adjust his cooking, milling, and fermentation technique during production.

LA GRANDE DAME IS A TRIBUTE TO MADAME CLICQUOT AND TO THE CREATIVE AND ELEGANT SOULS WHO HAVE FOLLOWED IN HER FOOTSTEPS

A wine to reflect the image of La Grande Dame herself. Madame Clicquot used her determination, intuition and vision to choose and aquire exceptional grand crus parcels with exceptional grapes.

Madame Clicquot believed that Pinot Noir had the broadest range of expression and potential to create the best champagne. Pinot Noir demands the very finest expertise from the Cellar Master and the winemaking team. Delicate, Pinot Noir also poses a challenge to those working in the vineyard. The Pinot Noir grape expresses itself differently depending on its terroir, exposure and the specific year’s harvest conditions.

La Grande Dame 2012 blend is made mainly from grapes from historical Grands Crus vineyards, among the most prestigious in Champagne. Pinot Noir dominates the blend at 90%, magnified by 10% Chardonnay, with grapes from Aÿ, Verzenay, Verzy, Ambonnay, Bouzy. The 10% Chardonnay comes from the Grands Crus Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger.

TASTING NOTES

Initial notes of white flowers on the nose, such as jasmine, honeysuckle and vine flowers can be felt and then opens with fruitier nuances of apple, pear and peach. A few notes of fresh almond and frangipane complete the bouquet. In the mouth, the cuvée reveals more complex aromas: dried apricot, hazelnuts, honey and sugar candy. Silky textures give the wine its personality, elegance and character. The aging has imparted particular depth and power to the wine.
