Mount Gay Distillery is located in Barbados. The brand dates all the way back to 1703 and is said to be one of the oldest rum houses in the world. The distillery, initially named Mount Gilboa, was renamed at the turn of the 19th century, adopting distillery manager Sir John Gay Alleyne's namesake. Today the distillery produces high-quality rum using the best ingredients, which includes coral-filtered water, a combination of naturally-occurring yeast and their proprietary strain. They employ a combination of pot and column stills, blending together the intense aromas and flavors of the first with the smoothness of the second. Over the past 4 decades, they have had 4 Master Blenders, the current one being Trudiann Branker. The spirit matures in American Whiskey, Bourbon, and Cognac oak casks, with others being brought in for various special editions. Mount Gay is home to the largest stock of aged rum in Barbados. Mount Gay Port Cask Expression Master Blender Collection #3 is a small-batch blend of traditional column-still rums that have spent 5 years in tawny port casks and double-distilled copper pot-still rums aged 14 years in American whiskey casks, then finished in tawny port casks for another year. Rich, deep, and complex, it showcases Master Blender Branker's skill and is bottled at cask strength without chill filtration.

As part of the wheated bourbon family, this twelve year old W.L. Weller is aged far longer than most wheated bourbons. This offering is a smooth, easy-going and balanced bourbon with a beautiful deep bronze color.

TASTING NOTES

Holmes Cay is an independent bottling company from New York City. Founded by New Yorker rum aficionado Eric Kaye in 2019, they focus on finding the very best rums and bottling them at cask strength. Kaye used to work as a producer and music composer for film, TV, and commercials, but has also been an avid diver for decades. His favorite pastime brought him into contact with fantastic rare Caribbean rums. He felt he needed to share these with his fellow Americans, which is how Holmes Cay came to be. Passionately standing behind the tradition and honor that is an integral part of rum, Kaye hopes to bring incredible as-of-yet-unknown unadulterated cask-strength rums to the US, introducing spirit-lovers to the best-kept secrets of the rum world. Their very first release Holmes Cay Barbados 2005 fittingly came from the legendary Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. The Holmes Cay Barbados 2009 Port Cask Rum is another one from their fruitful collaboration with Foursquare. "The Barbados 2009 Port Cask is our first edition with secondary maturation. The secondary aging complements and highlights the existing character of the spirit," says Kaye. Distilled in 2009, it's a blend of column and pot-still rum that was aged 8 years in Barbados, then 2 years in the UK in ex-bourbon barrels, before being finished in port casks for another year in New York State. Bottled at 112 proof, only 2 casks of this 11-year-old cask-strength rum were produced. 

Given it's status as the cocktail gin, Fords Gin set out to expand their offering by enhancing the nine botanicals in Amontillado Sherry casks to produce a cocktail-forward navy strength gin meant to excite bartenders and provide at-home gin enthusiasts a new spirit to experience.

During the late 19th century, an overwhelming number of distilleries throughout the United States were still not aging their whiskey. As a result, some retailers would add juices and syrups to sweeten the whiskey, while others would add acid and tobacco to give their whiskey its signature, amber hue. In 1870, George Garvin Brown a young pharmaceuticals salesman from Kentucky saw the need for a consistently high-quality whiskey that would remain unadulterated after distillation. After saving $5,500, Brown and his brother opened the doors to J.T.S. Brown & Bro. Distillery and began distilling bourbon. Unlike other distilleries at the time, Brown aged his bourbon, which was named Old Forester, in oak casks and bottled it in a sealed glass bottle to ensure authenticity and quality. Since its introduction in 1870, Old Forester has been on the market continuously, even during Prohibition, when it continued to be sold for medicinal purposes. It is the only bourbon continuously distilled and marketed by the founding family before, during and after Prohibition. This historic recipe was acquired in 1940 by Owsley Brown I, Old Forester Rye features a mash bill of 65% Rye, 20% Malted Barley, and 15% Corn. This high proportion of barley yields a natural fermentation process, and a unique floral character, balancing the sharp, brisk spice of the rye grain. Founded in 1982 by German-born Jrg Rupf, St. George Spirits is one of the oldest craft distilleries in the United States. The distillery, housed in an old World War II airplane hangar on a former naval base on the edge of San Francisco, is home to Lance Winters, mad scientist and St. George's master distiller. Winters, who is widely-known for experimenting with different types of spirits, has a laboratory dominated by a 10-liter test still in addition to the glass beakers and graduated cylinders that cover every inch of his counterspace. Next to the dusty chalkboards caked with equations for the conversion of sugar to alcohol and intricate diagrams of molecular structures are bottles of experimental whiskies, vodkas and even an aging balsamic vinegar (it's 14 years old already). Our objective with St. George Raspberry Brandy, explains Winters, was to take an olfactory snapshot to capture exactly what raspberries smell like at their peak of ripeness. We used the whole fruit in its entirety in a deliberate effort to maximize the most elemental and essential flavors and aromas. Once the raspberries have been harvested, they are distilled through copper pot stills without the use of sugar or any other artificial ingredients. The brandy has an extraordinary texture and flavor profile, with rich waves of soft fruit, raspberries, oak and cinnamon that are complemented by a mineral touch. The brandy was named one of the Top 75 Spirits of 2014 by F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal.

Gooderham and Worts Four Grain Whisky is a blended whisky, based on the historical style of the original. The four grain expression contains corn, barley, rye and wheat, all distilled separately in a combination of pot and column stills. The components are then aged in both virgin oak and ex-bourbon barrels before blending. The final blend is bottled at 44.4%, a higher proof than is typical of Canadian whisky, to emphasize the woodier characteristics.

SCHLEPZIG: WHERE WHISKEY DREAMS TOOK FLIGHT

Road trips often hold the promise of adventure, and in the waning months of 2015, our journey led us to a most unexpected destination - the quaint main street of Schlepzig, situated approximately 60 kilometers south of Berlin. Our initial aim was simple: to acquire a solitary barrel of whisky from Brandenburg's most ancient distillery.

As we found ourselves standing in the charming courtyard of this distillery, listening intently to the owner's words, the contours of our lives were about to change forever. His announcement that he sought a successor ignited a spark within each of us. This, we realized, was the adventure we had been yearning for all along. And so, in 2017, following a multitude of structural transformations, the installation of mash tuns, fermenters, and even our very own mill, we set ablaze Germany's inaugural rye whisky still, and thus, the STORK HOUSE Rye Whiskey was born.

Meaning “rested,” Dulce Vida Reposado is aged in American Oak whiskey barrels. Dulce Vida Reposado has a light honey color and refreshing aroma of fruit. With hints of caramel and citrus, Dulce Vida Reposado is our most versatile tequila and has a mild, sweet finish.

Rum Cask Finish Rye Whiskey is the second iteration of our Rum Cask Finish Rye Whiskey celebrates the innovation and creativity of our Sagamore Spirit Reserve Series. We aged our 5- and 6-year-old straight rye whiskies in hand-selected barrels from South America and Jamaica for an additional 10 months and then blended them back together. The Jamaican rum barrels contribute notes of ripe banana and bright pineapple, balanced by the rich vanilla and brûléed sugar character of the South American rum barrels-a unique combination enhancing the spice of our rye. Our Sagamore Spirit Reserve Series celebrates the legacy of Maryland distilling, with an unyielding focus on excellence from start to finish.
