Named after Dionisio Magbuelas, known as Papa Isio, a pivotal figure before the Philippine Revolution, Don Papa embodies his leadership essence. Distilled at the base of Mt. Kanlaon using top-tier sugarcane, it undergoes a 7-year aging process in American oak barrels, resulting in a sweet, caramel-vanilla profile—a standout as the country's premier sipping rum. Its distinctive packaging, reminiscent of an island odyssey fused with Alice in Wonderland, serves as a creative nod to the Philippines' colonial past. Crafted globally—from France, Portugal, and Italy to New York—the bottle showcases Don Papa, adorned with a gecko, concealing 49 other animals, including the iconic tarsier. Simple ingredients done well with appreciation for essential quality was our top aim in creating this blend of 2 to 6 year old rums. As we tasted through our cellar, we discovered our maturing barrels had the potential to make a richer, deeper rum blend suited for easy-to-reach, everyday occasions. After casks are selected and carefully blended, we proof them with aged water and re-cask the rum into old oak barrels to mingle, marry, and create a harmonious flavor profile.

Finally, we harvest these rested barrels and bottle. This rum expresses our evolution in pushing for deeper flavors, richer concentration, and a richness that is at once accessible, generous, and sincere. We hope you enjoy it your favorite way be it neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail.

Young in spirit, old in soul, Lobos 1707 Tequila, Joven comes from premium aged, Blue Weber agave Blanco Tequila that is mixed with a measure of Lobos 1707 Tequila, Reposado. It is carbon-filtered, then finished in historic PX wine barrels using the solera method, resulting in a more mature flavor profile than any other Silver or Blanco Tequila.

A CALIFORNIA HAND CRAFTED MODERN AMARO​

 Amaro Apolomado is a Grain and California Grape (brandy) based herbal liqueur at 32%ABV. The major component of this Amaro is fresh California Artichoke used at the peak of flavor. We use high quality roots, herbs, fruits, and flowers sourced locally. The maceration infusion takes over a month, and the final Amaro is carefully blended with each individual component and allowed to rest before bottling.

TASTING NOTES

A herbal liqueur that has a unique balance of the bitter and sweet elements, with a solid herbal backbone. This is a unique Amaro, less sweet than most Amari and more herbal forward. Aplomado has a lovely herbal and orange aroma, wonderful body, and mouth feel which lingers on pleasantly.

Maker Notes

We looked to the orange orchards on the rolling hills of Santa Catarina, Brazil to start. Green and Red Mandarin Oranges have grown in this region for centuries, and it is here that we found the flavors we were seeking. When this fruit is harvested in September, the Mandarin Orange is green in color, yielding an aromatic peel used in cuisines around the world. When these same Oranges are harvested in late December, they yield a reddish fruit that has a floral and intense citrus aroma similar to its cousin, the Tangerine.

Leopold Bros. distills Santa Catarina’s Green and Red Mandarin Oranges separately, blending the two distillates together in the final gin. This allows the two contrasting flavors to work in concert, marrying citrus and floral notes to a piquant finish. In addition to the citrus, we finish the Gin with earthy and savory notes using Orris Root, Juniper, Sri Lankan White Pepper, and South African Rooibos Tea.

TASTING NOTES

Detailed Description

Nectar D'Or is probably a reference to the golden nectar that was previously held in the casks used to finish the whisky. This is a sauternes finished single malt from the Glenmorangie distillery, a fruity, vinous release from the Highland distillery.

Nose: Full of dessert wines, a little fruitiness with a good barley sweetness. A mix of honey and apricot skins.

Palate: Notes of desert wine, with cereal notes and barley. A touch of malty spice and berry fruits.

Finish:Long with a good helping of oak. More apricot skins and dessert wines linger.

Distillery Information

The Glenmorangie distillery was established in 1843, on the Dornoch Firth by brothers William and John Matheson. The site originally held a farm distillery under the name Morangie. There is evidence that distillation was carried out at this site during the early 18th century. Production began in November of 1849. During the latter part of the 19th century Glenmorangie began overseas exportation and destinations included Europe and the United States.
