FUJIMI, produced at Asahikawa distillery, Hokkaido, is a vodka made after the distillation of a Japanese molasse, using the uncomparable Japanese water quality and the unique Japanese filtration expertise through sand and coal. 3 times distilled – 4 times filtered.

The Shinobu 10 Year Old Pure Malt is meticulously crafted using a blend of malt whiskies sourced from various renowned distilleries across Japan. This blend of carefully selected whiskies is then aged for a minimum of 10 years, allowing the flavors to mature and harmonize over time.

On the nose, the whisky reveals a complex and inviting aroma. Notes of dried fruits, such as raisins and figs, intertwine with hints of caramel and vanilla, creating a captivating bouquet. Subtle undertones of oak and a touch of spice add depth and intrigue to the overall olfactory experience.

The Shinobu 10 Year Old Pure Malt is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the Shinobu Distillery in crafting exceptional Japanese whiskies. Each bottle represents a culmination of years of aging and blending, resulting in a whisky that captures the essence of Japanese whisky-making traditions.

Although categorized as a Highland whisky, Ardmore flirts heavily with the South-east peripherals of Speyside, lying boisterously at the foot of the Grampian hills. Big and brash, it is also known for flirting heavily with peat, at least some of the time that is.

Built in 1989 for the purpose of producing single malt for blends, Teacher’s opted to make peated whisky here. This move alleviated the company’s reliance on Islay’s producers of peated whisky to add smokiness to blends – a particularly astute decision, given the growing popularity of Scotch whisky at the time. Today, since the distillery adopted steam during distillation rather than coal fires, two spirit characters are made here, a practice that is becoming increasingly prevalent.

Both spirit styles are produced at separate times of the year, in which the point of difference in production is the Phenol level of the barley delivered to the distillery, i.e. the level of peat used in drying. ‘Ardmore’ is the heavily peated single malt; ‘Ardlair’, or ‘Ardless’ as it’s sometimes known, is the unpeated single malt. Worth noting is that, although each spirit is vastly different in character, because Ardmore and Ardlair are from the same distillery, they can be vatted (or married) together and still be called a single malt. Ardlair can also be labeled as ‘Ardmore Distillery’. A little tricky, but well worth knowing.

Sometimes big, brash, earthy and smoky; sometimes subtle, floral and fruity. A real Jekyll and Hyde distillery. Let your nose prepare you accordingly.

After serving in World War II as a Radar Bombardier, Elmer T. Lee returned to his home in Kentucky and earned his engineering degree from the University of Kentucky.  He joined the distillery in the late 1940’s as a maintenance engineer.  He first interviewed with Colonel Blanton who famously rejected him by saying, “Son, we’re not hiring any hands today”. Fortunately, Colonel Blanton changed his mind and Elmer T. Lee started working the following week.

His genius for bourbon production propelled his rise from Maintenance Engineer to Plant Engineer, where he was eventually promoted to Plant Superintendent.  From there he earned the shared title of Plant Manager and Master Distiller where he oversaw much of the distillery’s modernization and growth until he retired in 1985.  

After retiring Mr. Lee served as Master Distiller Emeritus and Ambassador for Buffalo Trace Distillery. He was inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2002 he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Whisky Advocate, and again from Whisky Magazine in 2012. In 2013 Elmer passed away, leaving behind a prolific legacy of creativity and exploration that helped shape the Bourbon Industry into what it is today.

TASTING NOTES

EYE: Luminous amber patina.

NOSE: Radiance and directness with aromas of candied orange, passion fruit, sandalwood, leather, mixed spices, undergrowth and a hint of floral notes. Rancio notes have retained freshness.

TASTE: Candied fruit, passion fruit, fig, exotic fruits, nuts, descreet oaky notes, elegance & tension, a very long finish.

BODY: An impressive structure, explosiveness and a refined fresh fruit expression with a persistence that prolongs the tasting experience for a long time.

Furthur Bourbon combines MGP High Rye Bourbon aged for 3 and 5 years, which is then matured in newly charred American Oak barrels with a capacity of 53 gallons. It is distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, IN and bottled at 101 Proof in Pebbroke, KY. The bourbon is non-chill filtered and has a mash bill consisting of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% barley.

Our Añejo Tequilas filtered through an Activated Carbon process that allows them to remain completely Crystalline, making their luminous tones stand out and their flavor after aging stand out.

Our Añejo Cristalino Cava de Oro Tequila, a distillate aged for 24 months in French white oak barrels, obtaining the complexity of an Añejo Tequila, and subsequently filtered in a process with activated charcoal, which gives it the perfect touch between its silky texture, bright and crystalline tones.

Some distilleries are renowned for their meatier spirit style; underneath the fruitiness or maltiness lurks something that is just a little bit animalic. We were inspired to search out malts with this touch of the wild about them – whether from their distillation or subsequent maturation – and bring them together in our Menagerie.

FLAVOUR PROFILE

Menagerie boasts a complex aroma of baking spices, leather, tar and musky fruits. The palate is engagingly lush with even more fruit, while oily smoke and forest floor notes linger in the finish.

Comprised of 100% wild Jabalí agave,  this mezcal is citric and light bodied with a lively mouthfeel. Tasting notes include lactose, wet stone, fermented fruit, and herbaceous conifers. Notoriously difficult to distill, Jabalí agaves tend to grow in groups, and the name is a reflection of their spiny likeness to wild boars.

DESCRIPTION

Crisp crimson in the glass, the 2021 Slander opens with notes of wild strawberry, pomegranate, Bing cherry and cedar. Secondary aromatics abound, with hints of redwood grove underbrush, white pepper and earth. Delicate on entry, the palate is flooding with red plum, cherry cola, rhubarb and spices. A touch of cocoa powder on the finish, the wine closes with confident acidity and length.

Aged for 8 months in French Oak, 32% new.

Aska is a wine that emerges from Banfi's exploration of the Bolgheri region. It is primarily crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. The fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, while the aging process occurs in French oak barriques for approximately 10 months. The winemaker describes Aska as having complex and intense aromas, with hints of blueberry, jam, tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, it is soft, with sweet and elegant tannins, culminating in a long and persistent finish. This wine exhibits great aging potential. Given its structure and elegance, Aska pairs exceptionally well with game dishes, aged cheese, and cold cuts. Notably, in the 2022 wine awards, it received a score of 93 points from James Suckling.

The Tullibardine Marquess Collection celebrates their heritage and strong link with the hamlet of Tullibardine. Following traditional maturation in first-fill Bourbon barrels, the whisky has spent an additional year in Sicilian Marsala wine casks. Keith Geddes, master blender at Tullibardine Distillery, said: “It’s another exciting moment for Tullibardine to be announcing The Murray Marsala Cask Finish – a whisky that pays tribute to our story and continues to experiment with new wood types to create a complex and delicious single malt. “It’s a superb release, handcrafted by the dedicated workforce based at this small artisan distillery. We have sourced delicious and sweet Sicilian Marsala wine casks, which have been filled with our signature single malt and left to mature for a little over a year. “As with previous releases, it is a glorious illustration of the versatility of Tullibardine and our efforts to experiment to produce propositions that suit both new and existing consumers alike.”

Named after founder Joe Wagner’s son, Bishop, this apple brandy is a nod to Spanish lore, when California was considered to be the legendary Garden of Eden. The serpent on top of the cork is a reminder of what can happen when paradise is lost.

Tasting Notes

Color: Deep ruby gold

Nose: Fresh Gravenstein apples, cinnamon, maple, charred oak

Body: Thicky and viscous

Palate: Whipped cream covered apple pie, with a savory spiced crust. 

Distilled with pure rainwater and natural spring water in 100% copper pot stills, this liquid art is distinctively herbal and incredibly pure. Barrel aged for 48 months in underground caves, the result is an unrivaled extra añejo tequila from Pasote, with flavors of roasted agave, warm vanilla and a touch of spice on the long luscious finish.

The first US imported batch of Mezonte Jalisco was distilled by Santos Juarez using maguey Alineno and Cimarrón in Toliman, Jalisco. While this was produced in Tequila-country, the production of this Raicilla is a far cry from what you’d see in modern Tequila. The agaves are cooked in an underground oven, milled by hand with axes, and distilled in a copper and wood still.

The second US imported batch of Mezonte Jalisco was made by Lorenzo Virgen in Chancuellar, Jalisco using over 10 different agave varietals. The agave were cooked in an underground pit oven, fermented with spring water, and distilled in copper with Pine and Parota Wood.

Sacrvm Madrecuishe Joven is an authentic mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico, celebrated for its rich flavor profile. Crafted from mature Madrecuishe agave using traditional methods, this joven mezcal offers a harmonious blend of herbal notes, earthy tones, subtle smokiness, and a hint of citrus. Whether sipped neat or used in cocktails, it embodies the essence of Oaxacan mezcal craftsmanship and provides a memorable drinking experience.

Glen Grant is known as a bit of an elder statesman of the whisky world, shining at great age, and this bottling does not buck the trend. A 1997 vintage that has been held in a refill American oak hogshead, this dram has had plenty of time to gain complexity and character.

The whisky is floral and somewhat spicy, with prickling notes of pepper, chili and cinnamon on show. These flavours are joined by a deep, creamy vanilla, some honeydew melon, peaches, bright oak, chocolate, plums, apples and pears.

This bottling is presented at a formidable 59.3% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, ensuring the drinker gets the full experience.
