Asbach Uralt is a German brandy produced by the Asbach GmbH. It's history dates back to the late 19th century when Hugo Asbach founded the company in the town of Rdesheim am Rhein, at 24 years old. A Cologne native, Hugo gained knowledge for the industry from a local Export-Company for German Cognac.

Inspired by feedback from smoky whisky lovers, our new Painting Label of THE PEAT MONSTER incorporates single malts with a more aromatic and graceful style of smokiness. We have sought to retain the peaty intensity for which THE PEAT MONSTER has long been celebrated, whilst creating a depth and elegance not seen before.

New batches of THE PEAT MONSTER boast a spectrum of powerful coastal flavours, combining the smokiness of a driftwood fire with more medicinal peat notes. Orchard fruits and rich cask-derived creaminess balance the multi-layered smoke. It is a new peaty landscape, as the Painting Label shows.

The evolution is a subtle one. We hope you will hunt down both labels and enjoy teasing out the contrasts.

FROM BURNS TO BARLEY

Lochlea was a cattle farm when we originally acquired it in 2006. Extending some 222 acres, we realised that for a farm of that size to be viable we needed to do something very different. 
Barley had historically been grown on the farm land, largely as livestock feed, so in 2015 we embarked on an experiment, growing 50 acres of malting barley. 
Working away quietly, learning from our (not too frequent) mistakes, exploring the possibilities and making contacts in the malting industry gave us the confidence to make a big decision: we’d develop and operate a single malt distillery here at Lochlea.
Construction got underway in 2017, converting the former piggery, byre and midden in the heart of the farm steading into the distillery, and repurposing the cattle sheds into bonded warehouses. We secured all our licences in 2018, and the distillery was commissioned in August 2018.
Since then, we have been growing our barley, and the distillery team have been skillfully and patiently making spirit. 
The land at Lochlea is important, and not just to the distinctive taste of our whisky. This was the land that Robert Burns tended when he lived at Lochlea Farm, inspiring his thinking and development as a poet. Burns toiled the same soil that we are privileged to grow our malting barley in today.

Our single malt scotch whisky has been a labour of love for years. We’re not cutting any corners here. Everything we do, from our wooden washbacks to our on-site racked warehouse, is focused on producing the highest quality spirit possible. Forget your preconceptions about Lowland whisky, Lochlea is different. Using our own barley unique to Lochlea, nurturing a long fermentation and being meticulous with our cut points creates a new make bursting with orchard fruit and elegant beyond its years.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

As an independent family-owned distillery - now a rare thing in our industry - we can approach our small-batch whisky making in an innovative, flexible and responsive way, without the constraints of a large corporate structure. By using our own barley grown on the farm and our on-site water source, we have full traceability over the ingredients going into our process, allowing us a higher level of quality control and creating a flavour profile unique to Lochlea. Our location offers the best of both worlds. Nestled in the heart of Ayrshire, we have beautiful rolling hills all around, yet are easily accessible from many of the major towns and cities in Scotland. Head north, and you’re in Glasgow in 30 minutes, south west and several scenic seaside towns along the coast. We are also the only distillery in the world who can rightfully claim that Robert Burns himself lived and worked here. He spent his formative years from 1777-1784 at Lochlea, and we are proud to work those same fields today 240 years on.

Our family business, Three Rivers Ranch, has been fly fishing in Idaho for four generations. Volans Blanco tequila unaged and made from fully mature Blue Weber Agave & a mix of three sources of water – Rain, +450ft deep well, and spring water. It has been oxygenated or aerated. It is a truly enjoyable Blanco tequila to sip slowly.

AROMAS: Sweet Cooked Agave, minerals, floral notes, citrus, black pepper, apple, and pear.

FLAVORS: Cooked agave, black pepper, citrus, smokiness, and floral notes. The aeration helps create a very lovely rounded mouthfeel.

Pusser's Blue Label (42% ABV) is a Royal Navy style rum bottled in accordance with the Admiralty's blending recipe last used when the Royal Navy discontinued its daily ration on 31 July 1970.

On the steep precarious hillsides of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Durango varieties of agave, indigenous to the region, grow wild and are heavily sought after by the local mezcaleros. These varietals produce flavors that are exotically intense, with rich earth tones and savory smokiness. From the heart of the maguey these flavors are traditionally extracted to produce mezcal that is wildly refined. Because we at bozal believe that something wild produces a far richer spirit.

Agave

The Tepeztate, a subspecies of the Marmorata Family of agave, has a very distinct, erratic leaf structure and flourishes best on the sides of steep, rocky cliffs. The Tepeztate produces beautiful quiotes at the end of life which flower a rich yellow before turning to seed. This agave offers a powerful, unique aroma dominated by floral characteristics.

Taste

Herbaceous aromas, with a touch of wet stone on the nose, accompanied by grapefruit zest, orange flower and pine. Fresh florals, white pepper and minerals are highlighted on the palate with prominent notes of spice on the finish.

Established in 1985 by legendary vintners Dan and Margaret Duckhorn, our roots run deep at Decoy. Building on our rich winemaking heritage, we invite you to experience Decoy Limited. Crafted using grapes from some of the most acclaimed Alexander Valley vineyards, including our own estate properties, this is the ultimate expression of Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon, displaying robust layers of blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and violets, with French oak-inspired hints of vanilla and spice.

Varietal Composition: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot

Winemaker Notes
Embodying the luxurious beauty of great Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this alluring wine draws you in with complex aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, blackberry, and sweet baking spices. On the palate, the tannins are supple and round, framing juicy layers of dark berries and chocolate, with sophisticated hints of white pepper and toasty oak emerging throughout the long, resonant finish.

Production
The season began with a warm winter with less than 50% of our average rainfall, leading us to take early drought precautions, including suckering, careful cover crop management, targeted irrigation and pruning for crop load. Budbreak occurred mid-March to early-April with bloom in mid-May. Summer temperatures fluctuated from 85º F to 105º F, which ensured excellent ripening, and we began harvesting Sauvignon Blanc in mid-August, with Chardonnay and Merlot following soon after. The remaining Bordeaux varietals were all picked by October 15th. The quality of our white grapes was superb, with ideal acid profiles and lush tropical flavors at lower-than-normal berry sugar levels. Red grapes were also surprisingly concentrated at lower sugar levels, while still displaying wonderful depth, complexity and juicy flavors.

Inspired by legendary tales from San Luis Potosí, the spirit and decanter of our newest icon capture the essence of this state’s desert slopes and valleys. 

Its mezcal is made with green agave, a plant native to the deserts in the state of San Luis Potosí.

TASTING NOTES

Whiskey comes in a softer, sweeter side in the form of a creamy, toasted caramel liqueur with little hints of chocolate that we like to call Tennessee Mud. At 35 proof, pour it in coffee or hot chocolate or simply serve over ice and enjoy a cozy concoction of whiskey-infused perfection.

Mezcal Cmplice Reposado is your 'Accomplice of Love'. Made from 100% agave and aged in American white oak barrels for six long months, it is the ideal mezcal to seduce the delicate palate. It is a rested mezcal of premium quality.

Its soft texture, obtained by the incorporation of elements that the founding accomplices recognized as symbols of love towards a beautiful woman, caresses the palate with smooth but robust intensity.

Caravan shares the pedigree of Darioush’s Signature wines, but displays more ripe, saturated fruit with an elegantly textured finish. Caravan is anchored in Cabernet Sauvignon with lesser amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and/or Malbec and Petit Verdot added for depth and complexity of flavor.

Drawing inspiration from a refined Left-Bank Bordeaux blend, Caravan commands attention with a core of mouthwatering raspberry and black plum fruit while baking spices of cinnamon and nutmeg swirl on the palate.
Cabernet Sauvignon leads the way with its plush, velvety texture while Merlot and Cabernet Franc add savory top notes of bay leaf, hawthorn, and sandalwood. A flourish of rich, round fruits sweep across the midpalate, then culminate in an aromatic finish accentuated by dark chocolate reminiscent of a fine dusting of cocoa powder.

Lucid Absinthe Supérieure is an authentic, high-quality absinthe crafted in France, known for its commitment to tradition and excellence. A mission-driven, social impact-driven company, Erstwhile is a boutique agave spirits importer based in Brooklyn, New York.  Our mission: advocate for small, independent, family-owned producers who lack representation outside their local communities in Mexico; and bring their craft to mezcal lovers in international markets for the first time. We work closely with our partner producers and set them up for success.  No haggling.  No exclusivity contracts. We guide producers through the complicated steps to export in their own names for the first time, and cover necessary expenses including local attorneys, accountants, license fees, and more.  We absorb our producers’ marketing and supply chain costs as our own. We believe in autonomy for producers, be it hiring their own workers or using their own bottling facility. We only step in if they want our help. We connect our partner producers to share knowledge and help each other in production. Revenue from every Erstwhile bottle sold creates jobs in our partner producers’ and vendors’ local communities in Mexico.  Our producers hire their own team of local men and women, on their own terms. Erstwhile is a woman-owned, women-led business.  Our team is multicultural and multilingual.  We are outspoken about elevating underrepresented voices in Mezcal and our industry.
