Bunnahabhain Feis Ile 2024 Triple Sherry Wood Finish Scotch Whisky

Bunnahabhain

700 ml | 53.3% ABV
Whiskey | Scotch
Released to celebrate Fèis Ìle 2024, this 23 Year Old cask strength limited edition is an experimental combination of the finest sherry cask finishes from Bunnahahbhain: Amontillado, Manzanilla and Oloroso. The result is an exceptional burst of sherry with notes of creamy fudge, vanilla pods and a hint of tobacco.
At Bunnahabhain we have become renowned for our unpeated, classically sherried single malts, and this limited release is just that, and more. An experimental combination of some of the best sherry cask finishes from Bunnahabhain - Amontillado, Manzanilla and Oloroso – results in a complex and robust whisky.

Distilled in 1999, the spirit was then transferred into a trio of sherry casks: Amontillado casks on the 4th of November 2009, Oloroso casks on the 20th of June 2011 and Manzanilla casks on the 12th of September 2016. Skilfully married by our Master Blender, Julieann Fernandez, and bottled at a cask strength of 53.3% ABV, the flavours reveal themselves in a journey of discovery with each sip. The result is an exceptional burst of sherry with notes of creamy fudge, vanilla pods and a hint of tobacco.

Ardbeg 17 Year Old Committee Exclusive Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardbeg

750 ml | 40% ABV
Whiskey | Scotch

First released over 25 years ago in 1997, 17 Years Old was one of the first bottles to leave the Distillery after reopening. Unusually delicate, yet unmistakably Ardbeg, this malt found a place in the hearts of the Committee, and set an extraordinary standard for the future of our whisky. Retired in 2004, Ardbeggians thought that was the last they’d see of 17. But, while times have been moving quietly on, its return has been years in the making.

A quarter of a century since he first created this magnificent recipe, Dr Bill Lumsden – Master Distiller - has meticulously crafted this release to mirror the original, retracing the flavour profile note by note, and choosing to bottle at 40% strength, just as it was back then. Distinctly balmy and medicinal, an enticing minerality bursts into sweet smoke and malted barley. Its peaty presence is undeniable, with hints of tar and oak. Bottled in honour of the folk who were there at the start, this was always a whisky destined to return in the end.

TASTING NOTES

Aroma: Fresh and clean, with hints of pine resin, aniseed, sea spray and lavender soap- very gentle, very restrained, and rather elegant for an Ardbeg. With water, there is a distinctive, flinty minerality, along with subtle hints of sweet peat smoke, malted barley, and a touch of toasting bread.

Taste: A beautiful, creamy texture is followed by a lovely combination of flavours, with aniseed toffee, café latte, fennel and gentle antiseptic soap. The peat smoke is present, but in a very restrained manner, and leads into a lingering aftertaste with chewy oak, cocoa powder and tar.

Finish: The peat smoke is present, but in a very restrained manner, and leads into a lingering aftertaste with chewy oak, cocoa powder and tar.

Gordon & Macphail Glenlivet Distillery Private Collection 1979 Scotch Whiskey

Glenmorangie Dr Bill Lumsden X Azuma Makoto 23 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Glenmorangie

700 ml | 45% ABV
Whiskey | Scotch

This rich, elemental, and extraordinarily rare limited edition is born from a partnership between our Director of Whisky Creation, Dr Bill Lumsden, and Japanese botanical artist, Azuma Makoto.

Dr Bill’s bespoke whisky creation is an ode to all natural elements, from the depths of the ground through the complex flora and fauna. It is truly a remarkable tribute to the wonder of the living world and emanates from Dr Bill’s inspiration as a result of Azuma’s own masterpiece. The release showcases how nature, in all its forms, can be personified in an exquisite whisky.

In order to express the complexity of our natural world, Dr Bill first took a classic Glenmorangie, long aged in ex-bourbon casks, heady with aromas of lemon balsam and orchids. He then united that single malt with the first whisky from Glenmorangie to be finished in casks which once held Chardonnay white wine from the Meursault appellation in Burgundy. Inspired by that whisky’s complex notes of flowers, rain-soaked moss and earthy notes, Azuma Makoto created a botanical masterpiece, which now adorns our whisky.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Deep Copper

AROMA: Rich, heady, pungent, and fragrant. A burst of syrupy fruits (peach, pineapple, damson and plum), followed by some more savoury notes like burning oak bark, roasting chestnuts, baking sour dough and some hints of damp forest floor. Water releases some herbal and floral notes, with a touch of scented incense, aromatic orchids and even some grapey, vinous notes.

TASTE: Rich, sweet and fruity, with an almost waxy mouthfeel. There are flavours of lemon balsam, honeycomb, poached pears with a dusting of cocoa powder, followed by some gentle woody/ balsamic notes.

FINISH: The aftertaste is lingering and mellow, with hints of eucalyptus, lemon and toasting oak.

Ardbeg Vintage Y2K 23 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Ardbeg

700 ml | 45% ABV
Whiskey | Scotch

While the year 2000 will be remembered by many for bootcut jeans, flip phones and the elusive millennium bug, it went down in Ardbeg history for very different reasons.

Following decades of neglect, the Distillery had been saved from extinction by The Glenmorangie Company in 1997 and meticulously restored. As the clock ticked over from 1999 to 2000, Ardbeg was returning to full production. And while the rest of the world partied, with many distilleries shut down in fear of computerised chaos, its dedicated stillmen stayed up all night to keep the spirit flowing.

Crafted with some of the very first spirit of the millennium, the inaugural edition in the Ardbeg Vintage Y2K series is unlike anything that came before. It was distilled in the historic still which served Ardbeg for 51 years, before being retired in 2001. And with an increased rigour applied to cask selection under the new ownership, the whisky was laid down in some of the finest bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks around.

Committee Chair and Distillery Visitor Centre Manager Jackie Thomson said: “The turn of the millennium was a milestone for Ardbeg in so many ways – not least the formation of our Committee, the lifeblood of Ardbeg. With Y2K fashion and culture now back with a vengeance, we’re inviting Ardbeggians to turn back time to a remarkable year and enjoy the spirit of Ardbeg Vintage_Y2K.

TASTING NOTES

COLOUR: Pale Amber

AROMA: Herbal, sweet and fragrant, with a subtle, distant perfumed smokiness. Next a quirky, zesty note like lemon balsam emerges, along with a suggestion of linseed oil and candied walnuts. A splash of water and the fragrance intensifies, emitting heather honey, a touch of creosote and the tiniest trace of tent canvas.

TASTE: The texture is fizzy and effervescing (sherbety), with a real, vibrant effervescence on the tongue. At first the flavour is intensely sweet, then shifts as aniseed, toffee, digestive biscuits, peppermint, menthol, tar and coffee grits burst through.

FINISH: The sooty/tarry flavours keep building, until they finally dissolve into a long, lingering aftertaste of antiseptic lozenges, bitter oranges and oak tannins.

Oban Coastal Orchard 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Special Release 2024

Oban

750 ml | 58% ABV
Whiskey | Scotch

Oban Coastal Orchard 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Special Release 2024 is a vibrant and evocative expression from the renowned Oban Distillery, offering a unique exploration of maritime and orchard influences. This 10-year-old whisky is part of Diageo's 2024 Special Releases collection, highlighting the distillery’s coastal origins and showcasing a blend of fresh sea air and rich fruity notes.

Tasting Notes

Nose
The nose is mellow yet vivid, immediately transporting you to the coast with fresh maritime aromas. Hints of clear sea air, crystal salt, and even a touch of edible seaweed are present, evoking the feel of a seaside walk. As these maritime notes fade, they give way to a delicate sweetness of light oak and vanilla, layered with a subtle herbal character. The fruity essence emerges with sherried undertones, suggesting a leisurely summer stroll through a lemon grove by the Sicilian coast.

Palate
On the palate, the whisky has a creamy, smooth texture that is thick and indulgent. The flavor profile is sweet and fruity, with bright hints of orange and lemon. This citrusy vibrance is complemented by creamy vanilla, a whisper of seaside salt, and a delicate, peppery oak spice. A small dash of water softens the edges while preserving the core flavors, offering an even smoother experience without diluting the complexity.

Finish:
The finish is of medium length, leaving a lingering warmth of smooth spice. Even with a splash of water, the spice persists and intensifies slightly, drying the aftertaste and leaving a pleasingly spicy note that rounds out the experience.

Overall:
Oban Coastal Orchard 10 Year Old delivers a finely balanced whisky that beautifully captures the essence of its coastal heritage while introducing light, fruity notes reminiscent of a seaside orchard. Its complexity, mellow maritime character, and subtle spice make it an engaging choice for whisky lovers seeking something special in 2024.
