OBTAINIUM is exactly what the name implies. We “obtain” barrels from distilleries all over the world. Including the US, Europe, Canada, and The Caribbean. We source these spirits of varying types, light whiskey, rye, bourbon, etc. to create our own blends and products. These products are bottled at either barrel strength or blended to create our signature flavors. That being said, all of our creations, whether it’s a single barrel bottling or one of our blended products, will be unique either to that particular barrel or batch. No two will ever be “exactly” the same. We strive to ensure flavor consistency
throughout every batch of our blends to give our fans confidence and the comfort of familiarity. That paired with slight variances in each batch, brings a sense of anticipation for the next batch.

OBTAINIUM Light Whiskey came into existence in 1968 because consumers were moving away from Bourbon and more into clear spirits such as vodka or gin. Light whiskey is distilled between160-190 proof. Contrast that with Bourbon or American Rye which tops out at 160 proof. It must be aged in used, charred oak barrels or new, uncharred oak. Most distilleries didn’t let it age very long. Sourced from MGP in Indiana.

Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled 2022 Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks is the fifth annual special release. This year’s special release celebrates a brand new grain bill from the Jack Daniel Distillery - 100% malted barley. This is a one-of-a-kind experience crafted from the highest quality malted barley, charcoal mellowed, and twice barreled for a complex taste. This special release is first aged in brand new, American white oak barrels and then finished in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and bottled in its truest form, straight from the cask, with the proof ranging from 106.1-107.8.

This chestnut-colored drink has a sweet aroma of brown sugar, fruity notes, and a hint of vanilla and plum. Its palate boasts a blend of sweet vanilla, plum, dark chocolate, and oak. The finish is a delightful mix of spices, pepper, clove, dark chocolate, and sweet fruit.

About the Brand

The Breckenridge Distillery is the “World’s Highest Distillery”. Founded in 2008, the Breckenridge Distillery is most widely known for its blended bourbon whiskey, a high-rye mash American-style whiskey. Imperial Stout Cask testing notes

Cinnamon and Oak envelop the nose with a light background of fresh orange zest and chocolate. Smooth abundant caramel and dark chocolate hit the palate first as a dry matured oak and bold cinnamon spice follow and ride out for a long dry, spicy finish.

Sour bourbon mash is comprised of 57% corn 38% rye and 5% malted barley. It is bright, cleaned, and balanced. The corn really shines up front with a round soft sweetness. The rye lends it a subtle spiciness and the malt gives it a nice backbone. At 50% ABV it drinks very nice as a sipper or on the rocks.

Color: Clear with an almost unnoticeable trace of tannins from the barrel.

Nose: Bright floral, grapefruit, light vanilla, bread, and corn

THE HISTORY OF THE FAMOUS OLD BRAND​

First established in 1856 in Paris, Kentucky, a town tucked away in the heart of Bourbon County, Chicken Cock Whiskey rose to popularity during the 19th century. James A. Miller built a distillery and started making Chicken Cock, a type of whiskey unique to the bluegrass region. During the 1920’s it was a staple of prohibition-era speakeasies, like the Cotton Club, where it was smuggled inside in nondescript tin cans, earning it the nickname, “the Whiskey in a tin can.” Unfortunately, the original distillery where Chicken Cock was made burned down in the 1950s, causing a decades long pause for the once great brand. Known as “The Famous Old Brand” for much of its history, Chicken Cock Whiskey has now reclaimed its spot amongst the great American whiskies, because good spirits never go out of style. TASTING NOTES

Burnt caramel, oak and honey on the nose, with honey, cinnamon, allspice, dark fruit, clove and mint filling the palate. The finish is long and smooth, slightly creamy with hints of butterscotch taffy, maple and honey.

4 Grain & Maple is the intersection between four grain bourbon and maple syrup. We begin the process with a four grain bourbon made from 55% corn, 18% rye, 22% wheat, 5% malted barley, then aged in charred American White Oak barrels. After aging, we add a twist – an American Oak spire, seasoned, toasted, and infused with maple syrup, imparting sweet, rich flavors, and notes of maple syrup, butterscotch and cinnamon.

There’s something a bit magical in the way spirits are made.  Sure, most of it’s science, different boiling points allowing ethanol to be separated from water. But the flavors and nuances of a spirit come from the inexact melding of flavors on the molecular level, influenced by the design of the copper pot still, water chemistry and the hands that coax the liquor to life.
