OUR STORY

Belle Glos showcases distinctive Pinot Noirs produced from California’s most noteworthy coastal wine-growing regions.

While each vineyard location lies near the Pacific Ocean, the climate differences are significant, varying with the amount of fog, wind, sunlight, and soil type at each site. Each Vineyard Designate is crafted to distill the purest essence of the locale into elegant expressions of California Pinot Noir.

Owner/winemaker, Joe Wagner chose the name Belle Glos (pronounced “BELL GLOSS”) to honor his grandmother, Lorna Belle Glos Wagner. Lorna was a co-founder of Caymus Vineyards, an inspirational figure to Joseph and an avid lover of Pinot Noir.

BELLE GLOS 2020 LAS ALTURAS PINOT NOIR
Scarlet red in color with an aromatic medley of gooseberry, raspberry, and cranberry with hints of ginger, black pepper, and shaved milk chocolate. Dark fruit on the palate with flavors of wild berries, milk chocolate, toffee, black cherry, and ground nutmeg. Rich and structured, this wine has beautiful acidity that lingers through to a long, mouthwatering finish.

The area code 818 is home to me, but the earth is home to all of us. So, from the agaves we grow, to the production of the bottle, sustainability and transparency of our supply chain was our core focus. We feel a great sense of responsibility and pride to have a positive impact on  individuals, communities, and the environment. This Anejo Reserve began with an ambitious goal: to become one of the greatest tequilas ever crafted. In the heart of Jalisco, Mexico, 818’s Master Tequileros used their decades of expertise and passion to develop Eight Reserve by 818.

What emerged is a painstakingly crafted blend, bringing a level of complexity, softness and depth rarely experienced in tequila. The result is an elegant expression that is incredibly smooth and rich.

Dense with bright purple hues, this wine is brooding with dark cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, and mocha. This wine is mouth coating with lashings of criminally intense dark fruits supported by sweet vanilla, oak and a hint of chocolate.

19 Crimes tells the true story of heroes who beat the odds and overcame adversity to become folk heroes. This spirit lives on today through innovators like Martha Stewart, a self-made icon who built a domestic empire. Martha’s drive embodies the timeless values of the 19 Crimes mavericks who came before her.

In Los Altos, Mexico the heart of Tequila Valley Corzo Distillery has pioneered and patented a distillation process that begins when expert jimadors trim the shoots and stalks from young Highland Blue Weber Agave plants, allowing the plants to focus more of their energy on developing rich and flavorful pias, or hearts. Native to Mexico, Highland Blue Weber Agave plants favor high altitudes and rich, sandy soils. In Los Altos, which is located a mile above sea level and blessed with rich, red soil, Corzo's jimadors harvest the pias at their peak of maturity. After the pias are harvested, they are slowly roasted for five hours in order to extract the their sweet nectar. Corzo uses a longer, slower fermentation cycle as compared to other distilleries, going so far as to play Mozart during fermentation in order to help relax the yeast and provide for a more mellow tequila. After fermentation, the tequila is distilled three times. Corzo's patented distillation process makes large cuts to the distillate to ensure that only the "heart of hearts"is bottled. As a result, each bottle of Corzo Silver takes about 22 pounds agave to make, nearly twice as much as any other tequila! The aggressive cuts also lead to a sweeter, more ripe tequila. Afterwards, the tequila is sparged a process where microscopic air bubbles are introduced into the tequila in order to let it breathe and provide for a smoother taste before being bottled. Designed by Fabien Baron, the French designer whose work includes some of the most iconic perfume bottles of our time, Corzo Silver Tequila's bottle reflects the contemporary style of Mexican architecture. Its strong, rectangular lines and perfume bottle shape hint at the fragrant and full-bodied tequila that are contained inside. If tequila represents the revolutionary spirit of Mexico, Corzo represents Mexico's modern elegance.

Beverage Tasting Institute’s (BTI) highest rated unaged white rum, Huihui is something that is “mixed, mingled, united, or pooled together.” Huihui can be a group of people, a constellation of stars, or a great Mai Tai.

BASE RUM: To create this delicious, light and exotic rum, we chose for its base a light molasses-based Papua New Guinea rum, distilled to 90-94% ABV.

BODY RUM: To build its distinct flavor profile, we blended in our own premium Hawaiian Rum Agricole made from fresh sugarcane juice, and distilled to 60-74% ABV.

ACCENT RUM: To top off this super drinkable, exotic rum, we then added an exceptional agricole from Martinique, distilled to 74% ABV.

A Blend of Aged Rums

Rated 94 pts by Tasting Panel Magazine, Nanea is made by blending three carefully selected, variously-aged rums from around the world, meticulously considering how each contributes to the foundation, body and accents, until the blend is unmistakably nanea (fascinating). This should be enjoyed naked or in a classic cocktail.

Nanea is a word that sums up the Hawai‘i effect. It means: “of absorbing interest; fascinating, enjoyable; relaxed, at ease, tranquility, amused.” It especially means “to have a good time.”

BASE RUM: To create this intriguing, round and balanced rum, we chose for its base a beautiful molasses-based rum from Guatemala, distilled to 90-94% ABV and aged in ex-Bourbon barrels for two years.

BODY RUMS: To build its gorgeous depth and flavor, we blended in our own super-flavorful Aged Hawaiian Rum Agricole made from fresh sugarcane juice, distilled to 50-74% ABV and aged 18 months in ex-Cognac barrels; and a rich molasses-based rum from Venezuela distilled to 85% ABV and aged 2-8 years in ex-Bourbon barrels.

ACCENT RUMS: To increase Nanea’s dynamic range and make it sing, we then added two molasses-based rums from Trinidad (funky-rich) and El Salvador (mature oak), aged 3-5 years and five years in ex-Bourbon barrels, respectively.

A Blend of Aged Rums

Winner of the coveted double gold at the NY World Spirits Competition, Hōkūlei is a sublime sipping rum created to rival the world’s finest spirits. Hōkūlei is a blend of seven rums aged 18-months to 18 years, including our own Aged Hawaiian Rum Agricole.

Hōkūlei (garland of stars) is the name of a constellation of stars forming a lei, which marks the middle of the night sky.

BASE RUMS: To create this kaleidoscope of magnificence, we started with four molasses rums from Panama, Nicaragua, Barbados, and Venezuela. Each was distilled to 85-94% ABV and aged 2-3 years, 3-8 years, 5-8 years, and 8 years, respectively.

BODY RUMS: We added gorgeous layers of depth and flavor by blending in two rums: our very own Aged Hawaiian Rum Agricole made from fresh sugarcane juice, distilled to 50-74% ABV and aged 18 months in ex-Cognac barrels; and a 15-year aged rum made from molasses in Barbados distilled to 90-94% ABV.

ACCENT RUM: To put Hōkūlei in the upper echelon of spirits, we added complexity and intrigue with a lovely (yet challenging) molasses-based rum from Trinidad, distilled to 90-94% ABV and aged 18 years.
