Old Pulteney Pineau des Charentes is a no-age statement whisky, and making it has been an adventure in itself. As our Distillery Manager Malcolm Waring explains: ‘Under my watch, the casks are opened when I feel they are ready. The result is a beautiful sweetness that perfectly complements Old Pulteney’s signature saltiness, delivering in the same way as an older expression.
As you can probably tell, we’re justifiably proud of our new Pineau des Charentes single malt. But if you need another reason to try it, we can think of a few. Its bronze colour and fragrant aroma of honey, stewed fruits and toasted spices. A lingering, sweet and nutty taste that gives way to a coastal finish that’s almost savoury.
