The Frank Family Vineyards first opened their doors in 1993, when former Disney Studios president Rich Frank bought the Larkmead Winery. The historic winery was constructed in 1884 and is the 3rd oldest winery in Napa Valley. Larkmead was famous for sparkling wines and it's said that Marilyn Monroe was a regular visitor. While they continue the tradition of producing sparkling wine using the French champenoise method, they are more focused on superb still wines today, employing the four estate vineyards in Rutherford, Napa-Carneros, and Napa's Capell Valley. Their Napa Valley wines are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel, but they also have plenty of Reserve wines. They use 100% French oak barrels and everything is done on-site. They are also committed to sustainability and the winery is Napa Green certified since 2015. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon vintage from their Napa Valley lineup is crafted from 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc varietals. These were harvested between September 20 and October 22, 2016. It's a rich and complex Cabernet Sauvignon with stunning structure.

Grander Panama Rum is an independent bottler founded by Dan DeHart. DeHart is from Kentucky, meaning he was raised in the way of the bourbon. Once he discovered the wonderful world of great-quality rum that could be drunk neat, everything changed. After he met the people at Las Cabras Distillery in Panama, the groundwork was set for the launch of Grander Panama Rum in 2015. The bottler now deals in bringing authentic Panama rum to the discerning drinker without the limitations and restrictions that come from larger rum producers and suppliers. The Las Cabras Distillery is located in Herrera, Panama, and led by Jose Fernandez Perez, who oversees the blending and barrel aging. The distillery grows their own sugar cane. A proprietary yeast strain and local water are used in production, along with ex-bourbon and some ex-sherry barrels are used for maturing, with others (ex-rye, ex-scotch) are used for finishing the rum. The distilling takes place in four independent columns of varying sizes. The rum is bottled without chill filtering and additional colors. The Trophy Release Grander Panama Rum expression was distilled, aged, and bottled in Panama and is a blend of 8 to 15-year-old rums. Aged in ex-bourbon American white oak (some used to hold sherry), it's a non-chill filtered rum without additives or colorings that is bottled at 110.4 proof.

This expression has spent 8 months in American white oak barrels that used to hold Kentucky rye whiskey, an uncommon pairing. It's a blend of 65% 12-year-old- and 35% 15-year-old rum that is bottled at 100 proof sans chill-filtering, coloring, or sugar added. 

The family-run House of Delamain is one of the oldest cognac houses and has been in the art of making cognac for more than 2 centuries. Based in Jarnac, France, it was founded in 1759 when James Delamain left Ireland to settle in the French town. After his death in 1800, the business closed its doors to be reopened in 1924 by James' grandson Henri Delamain, who founded Maison Delamain. Several generations have shaped the character of the house of cognac, as it was run by botanists, writers, ornithologists, humanists, archaeologists, and historians. The cognac house is focused on XO cognac and uses eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne exclusively, this being the most prestige of all the cognac crus (regions). Delamain pride themselves on letting time work its magic, never rushing the tasting, assessment, and selection of the thousands of samples that come their way. Time is a crucial element here, as they deal with rare cognacs, often aged 50 years or more. Once an eau-de-vie has been selected it goes into the cellars of Cellar Master Dominique Touteau, where it is closely monitored throughout its long stay. The aged French oak casks preserve the fruity flavor and subtleties and are moved between different cellars; sometimes the cask needs a damp environment, other times a breezy one, a cool or warmer one. The liquid inside breathes and follows the rhythm of the seasons. When the time has come to blend the meticulously-developed cognac, the Cellar Master already knows the tiniest details and temperaments of each eau-de-vie. The blending of the cognac is left until last, only leaving the two years of marrying the final liquid in order to let all the aromas and flavors gel and make Delamain the fantastically elegant spirit that it is. The exceptional and ultra-premium Delamain Cognac Reserve de la Famille was originally meant for the Delamain family and their guests. It's special in that it's a single-estate, single-barrel Cognac. Instead of being blended, it's a single Grande Champagne eau-de-vie that has been aged for arguably the maximum amount of time that still benefits the liquid inside, around 60 years. It's undiluted, as the alcohol content has dropped naturally through the years to 43% ABV. 

Our newest addition to the family is making a name for itself by becoming our first rye whiskey with this distinguished of an age statement.

Bottled at 80 proof, the mashbill features a slightly spicy, yet approachable, rye resulting in an elegantly complex taste profile and a golden honey hue. This light, yet full-flavored, rye is sure to please any palate. Serving neat, with a drop of water, or on the rocks opens up all of the flavors that were developed from ten years of aging, such as spice, oak, caramel, and tobacco. This rye can be easily enjoyed without the burn associated with higher-proof whiskeys.

Hirsch Whiskey is named after Adolf Hirsch, a former executive of the Schenley Co. who bought some aging barrels of bourbon from the famed Michter's Distillery before it closed in 1988. It was in 1974 that Hirsch first imagined the spirit that would become legendary over the years. Its unique and turbulent history would prompt Charles K. Cowdery to write the book The Best Bourbon You'll Never Taste, centered around this mythical bourbon. Today the brand is owned by the San Francisco-based distiller & importer Hotaling & Co. They aim to bring back the famous name with premium expressions. "With this reintroduction, we invite people to take a journey into the world of bourbon and discover what makes HIRSCH legendary. THE HORIZON takes the first step into the future of HIRSCH, with additional expressions planned to round out the collection," says Hotaling & Co. President and CEO Dan Leese. Hirsch The Horizon expression is made to embody the spirit of adventure, the lifelong search for new experience chasing the horizon. It's a blend of 2 straight bourbons. Distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, 94% of the blend is a 4-year-old juice with a traditional (75% corn, 21% rye, 4% barley malt) mash bill, while the remaining 6% is a 6-year-old rye-heavy whiskey. Bottled at 92 proof, it's a traditional, complex, and incredibly well-balanced offering that is equally stunning neat or on the rocks.

Lucky Seven Spirits was founded by best friends Michael Lahalin and John Pals. Both bourbon fans and cinema aficionados, the pair settled on the moniker Lucky 7, named after the legendary Stage 7 of the Warner Brothers lot, where countless classics such as Casablanca were filmed. Since the giant stage got a reputation for producing so many hits, it got the nickname "Lucky Stage 7." The pair sources and blends rare bourbons, only using the finest juice they can find and releasing them as limited editions: 12 YO "The Hold Up," 6 YO "The Jokester," and 12 YO Single Barrel "The Proprietor." They have won several medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, among others. As befits the Hollywood and movie history that permeates Lucky Seven, they have also created a series of short films that accompany each expression. The luxurious decanter bottles include several nods to Old Hollywood, as well as real 22-karat gold. Lucky Seven "The Jokester" 6YO is a 6-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey with a rich and deep profile that has notes of dried fruit, nuts, vanilla, and spice. It's all beautifully balanced and complex. The bourbon is bottled at 95 proof and has won a Double Gold Medal at the 2020 edition of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

J.W. Rutledge Distillery was founded by former Four Roses master distiller Jim Rutledge. As the construction of their new sustainable distillery is underway (a facility that utilizes clean technologies like geothermal heating and cooling, solar energy, and biomass energy), Jim Rutledge sources and blends whiskey from other distilleries to put out new releases under the J.W. Rutledge brands, beginning with Cream of Kentucky. Their aim is to produce Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey and straight rye whiskey the "old-fashioned way" relative to the requisites, guidelines, and standards for straight whiskey production that have been in place for close to two centuries. The Cream of Kentucky label was first introduced in 1888 by I. Trager & Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. Before Prohibition ended, the brand was picked up by the renowned Schenley Company and re-introduced to the industry in 1934. Cream of Kentucky reached great success in the 30s and 40s, using the work of famed artist Norman Rockwell. Cream of Kentucky is now owned by J.W. Rutledge, who has recently secured a limited supply of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey he feels is worthy of the rebirth of Cream of Kentucky Bourbon as a premium whiskey. Cream of Kentucky 13 is a 13-year-old straight bourbon that was sourced by the discerning eye of Jim Rutledge and is an exquisitely well-balanced and rich straight bourbon.

Cosseted away in the finest, hand-selected oak casks and allowed to mature at its own sedate pace, this is one of the most remarkable, perfectly balanced single malt scotch whiskies of its kind. TASTING NOTES

TO THE EYE: In appearance, each bottle has a crisp golden honey hue. What gives whisky its colour? The maturing process over 12 years as the liquid comes into contact with the barrel. The longer a whisky matures will determine its colour and flavour profile.

TO THE NOSE: A Single Malt Scotch whisky with a distinctive aroma of crème brulee to the nose with a burst of citrus and then the signature nuttiness and green leafiness you would expect from Auchentoshan.

TO THE TONGUE: A smooth whisky taste with sweet notes along with hints of tangerine and lime characterise this 12 year old.

TO THE END: This particular whisky offers a gingery and slightly dry finish with a pleasant, lingering nuttiness. 

During the early 19th century, illegal distilleries were commonplace throughout the Speyside region of Scotland. In 1823, however, Alexander Gordon pushed the Excise Act of 1823 through Parliament. The Excise Act allowed illegal distillers throughout Scotland to apply for and obtain licenses to legally distill spirits. In 1824, a businessman named George Smith applied for one of the first licenses in the Speyside region of Scotland and opened the doors to The Glenlivet Distillery. For nearly two centuries, The Glenlivet Distillery has been producing the "single malt whisky that started it all." The Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made using barley sourced from Crisp Maltings, Portgordon (Portgordon is a village in Moray, Scotland). After the barley has been malted and mashed, it is fermented in wooden washbacks for approximately two days. The wooden washbacks used by The Glenlivet are more difficult and expensive to maintain as compared to the stainless steel washbacks used by most Scottish distilleries, but impart a distinctive, floral quality to the whisky. After the barley has been fermented, it is distilled twice first through Glenlivet's wash still, and then again through Glenlivet's spirits still. Originally designed by George Smith, the copper-pot stills have a unique, lantern-like shape, which encourages contact between the whisky and the copper (the copper strips the whisky of any impurities it may have, and provides for a lighter and more pure flavor profile). In addition, the height of the stills ensures only the lightest vapors are condensed, and makes for a more delicate and elegant whisky. Recently, folks at The Glenlivet have been experimenting with mysterious releases without tasting notes and cask information. Spectra is one such limited-edition box set that contains a selection of 3 distinct 200ml single malt bottles. The first hints at a fruity expression, the second promises a smoky and briny experience, and the last holds a creamy sweetness. Each expression showcases The Glenlivet's signature style and presents a tasting challenge in the form of a digital experience a journey that starts by scanning the provided QR code. After completing the guided digital tour and receiving a grade based on your performance, you get to compare your findings with the thoughts of Master Blender and Distiller Alan Winchester.

Du Nord is the brainchild of Chris Montana, who decided to open a distillery in his home city of Minneapolis in 2013. It's a family-run operation that combines Chris' city-smarts with Shanelle Montana's country spirit. The craft spirits company has since grown considerably from a garage-type distilling project and works to bring minorities and members of underrepresented communities into their family. The name Du Nord is a tribute to Minnesota's title of "The Star of the North." They offer tours of the Du Nord distillery and operate a Du Nord Cocktail room on the premises. Their lineup currently consists of the L'Etoile Du Nord sipping vodka, Fitzgerald Gin (a London dry and old world style hybrid), Apple Du Nord apple liqueur, and Caf Frieda coffee liqueur. Each and every one of these has garnered awards from some of the most prestigious spirits competitions. Du Nord Mixed Blood Blended Whiskey is the newest member of the Du Nord family. It's an in-house bourbon that has a high-rye mash bill and is blended with sourced whiskeys for a profile that is rye-forward, fruity, spicy, and pleasantly sweet. It's aged for two years before being bottled at 80 proof.

HH Bespoke Spirits Collection is a spinoff of the bespoke boutique Harlem Haberdashery. The family behind the award-winning brand has been making custom clothing for celebrities under the name 5001 Flavors, providing styling for the likes of Notorious B.I.G., Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, and David Beckham's "Welcome to the US" Adidas campaign. Their retail boutique in Harlem opened in 2012 in the former home of Malcolm X and the brand is known to take its inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance. They launched their brand of premium spirits in 2018. Made in partnership with AstraLuna brands, who distill and manufacture high quality small-batch spirits, the lineup consists of HH Bespoke Vodka, HH Bespoke Rum, and HH Bespoke Gin. "We are excited to present the HH Bespoke Collection to celebrate life fashionably with our curated spirits and be apart of celebratory and responsible lifestyle experiences for our consumers," said President and CEO Sharene Wood at the launch of the new brand. The Harlem Haberdashery Bespoke Gin is a riff on the London dry style, a juniper-forward profile with the addition of American botanicals. It features an infusion of lavender, rosehip, beach plum, and cranberry. Bottled at 80 proof, it's crafted to mix well with sweet as well as bitter flavors.

Founded by Shane Baker and Pat Heist, a pair with over 20 years of experience with fermentation and alcohol production under their belts, they craft unique spirits using locally-grown grains. Their spirits are hand-crafted and they pride themselves on being "not interested in making the most, just the best." The founders were left with several yeast strains they had collected over the years in the industry and put them to good use in the distillery. The premium corn, wheat, and rye are sourced from the nearby Caverndale Farms and Walnut Grove Farms from Adairville, Kentucky, while their malted barley comes from Louisville. The natural Kentucky limestone springwater completes the 100% Kentucky list of ingredients. Their production methods include the proprietary Infusion Mashing Process, which together with their unique yeast strains results in a softer and uniquely flavorful distillate. They are the first Kentucky bourbon distillery to use a chemical-free clean steam boiler that minimizes off flavors. Instead of sour mash, they rely on a sweet mash, which enables more flavors to be extracted from the grains. They employ a hybrid pot still, as well as two continuous column stills. All the whiskey is distilled, aged, and bottled on-site. Wilderness Trail produces bourbon, rye whiskey, vodka, and bourbon barrel-aged rum. The Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey expression employs their sweet mash process and the spirit is barrelled at 100 and 105 proof. These numbers used to be higher, so the final proof of the bottles can vary. Crafted from a mash bill of 56% Kentucky-grown Heritage rye (from the local KY Proud farm), 33% corn, and 11% malted barley, the rye whiskey is then aged for a minimum of 4 years and up to 8 years in the upper floors of their rickhouses. 

Look for the silver label

Wilderness Trail Distillery fans who have been enjoying side-by-side comparisons of its yellow label wheated Bourbon and its black label small batch rye Bourbon may now take their analogies to the next level. Look for the silver label with a “6” on the neck tag to indicate that it’s Wilderness Trail 6-year wheated Bourbon or 6-year rye Bourbon. Our Visitors Center is one place to find the bottled in bond goodness of the 6-year small batch rye Bourbon. However, the Visitors Center has sold out of the 6-year wheated Bourbon. Bottles are $69.

The other releases by the Danville distillery, owned by Shane Baker and Dr. Pat Heist, have been four- and five-year-old, bottled in bond Bourbons and a cask strength rye whiskey of similar age expressions.

Everyone wants to know a little bit about how the 6-year-old tastes. Well, your tasting notes would be different from your friend’s and so forth. Let’s just say that the extra two years in the barrel has elevated an already remarkable Bourbon to an even higher level.

It enters the barrels at 110 proof and is aged on different floors of their rickhouses before being bottled at 100 proof. 

Lovingly handcrafted and aged in Kentucky, Pinhook Bourbon was established in 2014 and has produced several small-batch bottlings in their newly restored Castle & Key distillery in Frankfort, KY, to much critical acclaim. What makes their line unique is the brand's three distinctive characteristics: its limited availability, mass appeal, and strong ties to Kentucky's legacy of horse racing. Each release of Pinhook Bourbon is named after a thoroughbred owned by Bourbon Lane Stable. The label also features the horses racing records on their brand's website. Every fall Pinhook features an annual vintage of Pinhook Bourbon and Pinhook Rye, each of which is inspired by a thoroughbred horse. Each blend is as unique as the horse on the label. "Pinhooking" refers to an old Kentucky term for purchasing young thoroughbreds, holding them until they mature, and selling them when they are ready to run. Successful pinhooks much like whiskey are made on instinct, experience, an appreciation of quality, and a little luck. Pinhook bourbons and ryes are handcrafted to reflect the richness of the Kentucky soil and the character of its beautiful horse country. The 2020 rye expression is Pinhook Tiz Rye Time 4YO Vertical Series, a straight rye whiskey that is crafted from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Bottled at 97 proof, it's the first of a new annual-release series. "It will be exciting to follow the maturation of both rye and bourbon over the course of 9 years and understand how each style of whiskey progresses individually as well as in comparison to the other," says Master Blender Sean Josephs. "The 4 Year old rye at 97 proof is already showing great complexity, depth and structure and I am fascinated to go on this whiskey journey which will culminate with a 12 year old rye in 2028."

Mount Gay Distillery is located in Barbados. The brand dates all the way back to 1703 and is said to be one of the oldest rum houses in the world. The distillery, initially named Mount Gilboa, was renamed at the turn of the 19th century, adopting distillery manager Sir John Gay Alleyne's namesake. Today the distillery produces high-quality rum using the best ingredients, which includes coral-filtered water, a combination of naturally-occurring yeast and their proprietary strain. They employ a combination of pot and column stills, blending together the intense aromas and flavors of the first with the smoothness of the second. Over the past 4 decades, they have had 4 Master Blenders, the current one being Trudiann Branker. The spirit matures in American Whiskey, Bourbon, and Cognac oak casks, with others being brought in for various special editions. Mount Gay is home to the largest stock of aged rum in Barbados. The Mount Gay XO Triple Cask Blend expression is the successor to their famous hit, the XO. The XO Triple Cask Blend is a small-batch reserve rum that is distilled using a traditional column and double retort pot still. It's a blend of a handful of meticulously selected mature rums that is matured in American whiskey, bourbon, and cognac casks. While they used to be aged 8 to 15 years, the numbers now stand between 5 and 17 years. It's a well-rounded and complex rum that fills its predecessor's shoes with ease, and then some.
