The Knappogue Castle Cask Finish Series is a range of single malts finished in the finest wine casks. The Chateau Pichon Bar limited release is matured in bourbon barrels for a minimum of 12 years, then further aged in casks from the renowned Bordeaux winery. Made exclusively from malted barley, distilled in copper pot stills, this expression is non-chill filtered and bottled at 92 proof.

TASTING NOTES

Palate: Bold spice note with black pepper, walnut, vanilla, cinnamon caramel, and cherry.

Nose: Strong notes of spice with hints of oak and wood barrel and occasional leather and tobacco. 

Color: Reddish cooper.

Finish: Medium length finish with caramel, oak, cinnamon, and vanilla notes and rich lingering earthly spice taste.

The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey that dates back to the 1800's, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters. The libation became known as the Sazerac and America's first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.

Aroma: The fragrance is of clove, sweet vanilla, anise and pepper. 

Flavor: The taste has subtle notes of candies, spice and crisp citrus.

Finish: The big finish is smooth with hints of licorice.

Used as the cornerstone of some of the 20th Century's most iconic Scotch Whisky blends, we decided it was time to unleash "The Beast of Dufftown" and release our Mortlach 16 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky so a fortunate few could enjoy Mortlach unadulterated and at its most elegant.

Inspired by the iconic first bottling in 1992, our 16 year old whisky has been matured in only Sherry casks to impart an earthy aroma, rich notes of apricot and honey and a light, leathery spiciness. This complex whisky is best served over a single blocked ice cube to enhance its spicy richness.

Established in 1823, the Mortlach distillery was the first legal distillery in Dufftown, and it has long continued to set the standard. To this day, this unique Speyside owes much to the brave vision of its greatest ownersGeorge Cowie and his son Dr. Alexander Mitchell Cowie, who pioneered the complex '2.81 distillation' process. APPEARANCE: Old Copper.

BODY: Robust and rich. Palate clinging

NOSE: Dense, elegant & intriguing. Dried fruit, cedarwood, leather, and tobacco.

PALATE: Robust palate with a coating of oiliness. Aromatic citrus. Hints of wood spice opening into a dark, meatiness of barbecue pork crackling. Berries, jam & cocoa nibs add brightness.

FINISH: Deep and complex, with gingerbread, raisin, and a hint of liquorice.

Van Winkle Special Reserve is the perfect combination of age and proof. This sweet, full-bodied whiskey has been described by some as “nectar.” The 12 years of aging and medium proof seem to be just right in creating a very pleasant drink of whiskey. This fine bourbon can compete with any excellent cognac as an after-dinner drink. The overall impression is rich and deep.

2007 Oban double-matured in ex-bodega Montilla Fino cask wood for a rich fruitiness and maritime flavors that bond with the fresh, sweet aromas and tastes of the regular release in an explosive, rich and deep expression of Oban. Oban Distillers Edition won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2008 and 2011. It also won International Wine and Spirit Competition Gold in 2002 and 2010 (Best in Class). In 2020, it won a third Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

TASTING NOTES

NOSE: Outstanding. Fruity and pungent; salty sea breezes, grapes, orange, hints of smoke - massively complex.

PALATE: Most explosive Oban ever. Soft malt, wave upon wave of delicate yet rich fruit carried on a salty tide.

FINISH: Sweetened Jamaican coffee and oak, with an attractive malt-biscuit effect as it dies down.

There's near perfection in the bitter-sweet harmony which is such an enthralling feature of this truly classic whisky, as its crisp peat softens, not to pepper, but to rich, sweet, juicy fruit.

TASTING NOTES
COLOR - Chestnut brown.
NOSE - Extremely sharp and well-focused; no lingering, rambling smoke but instead a wonderful sultana sweetness.
PALATE - Crisp peat softens to enormous richness, with sweet, roasty malt and a heathery dryness. Sherry replaces the usual pepper with luscious, oily sweetness.
FINISH - Deep cocoa notes, magnificent vanilla and lingering, earthy peat. Exemplary in balance between sweet and dry.
BODY - Full bodied, clean yet rich.
