About Balcomie

This Single Malt, from the family owned distillery in the Kingdom of Fife, has been distilled using Fife barley and matured in 100% ex-Oloroso American Oak Sherry Butts from Jerez, previously used for maturing Sherry. These casks were specifically chosen by Isabella Wemyss for their gentle oak flavours and sherry rich sweetness to compliment the fruity character of the Kingsbarns spirit. This allows for the perfect balance between the spirit and the wood.

Farewell Dream to Dram

The single malt that started it all here at Kingsbarns has been retired. As our first release back in 2018, Dream to Dram has, and will always have, a special place in our story; the first chapter comes to a close and we are so excited to continue our journey and take you along with us.

The story of G4 Tequila started in 1937 when the Camarena family first started making tequila. The Jalisco Highlands in Mexico are the tequila capital of the world and the name Camarena counts among the most illustrious in the spirit's rich history. After working with his brother Carlos for years, the fourth-generation tequilero (G4) Felipe Camarena decided to open his own distillery in 2011 and the Destilera El Pandillo was born. Named after his grandfather's favorite bull, the distillery proudly displays the old tahona stone from the family distillery that burnt down during the Mexican Revolution before it even became operational. G4 takes pride in taking things slow and respecting the land and tradition. They grow their own agaves without using any chemicals, and they are never harvested before fully ripening. They are cooked in traditional stone ovens for 22 hours, after which the remains are converted into fertilizer. Copper-pot stills are used for the first and second fermentation and many details in the production process ensure power efficiency. They have also strived to use solar and wind power, as well as harvesting rainwater. All the maturation takes place in-house, often giving the spirits twice the amount of aging necessary for a particular category. This gives the end product an exceptional smoothness and complexity. The Aejo has spent at least 18 months in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, which leads to an exceptionally smooth character. As all their tequila, the Aejo is made from 50% spring water and 50% harvested rainwater and bottled at 80 proof.

An award-winning blend of fully-matured Lowland and Highland Agave. The seven-year-old agaves are cooked for a minimum of 35 hours.

Distilled twice, Anteel Blanco has rich, sweet notes of cooked agave, floral tones, and vibrant layers of tropical fruit.

The very authentic absinthe: Grande Absente is a bitter liqueur which contains more plants of absinthe and less sugar.

Matching the original traditional recipes, with more absinth, less sugar. All eyes will be instantly captivated thanks to its clear and shiny light green colour with yellow undertones. Absinth infusions and essences, mugwort and star anise, aniseed alcohol, balm and mints lend Grande Absente its special bitter flavour. It has the unique taste of absinth.

Grande Absente that we manufacture for Europe contains 35 mg/kg of thyuone.

Absinthe, nicknamed "green fairy" and banned in 1915, was authorized again in 1988. It is only in 2011 that its level of thyuone (molecule present in the plant which, in strong dose, was supposed to make mad) is fixed at a maximum of 35 mg/kg. Very appreciated for its taste of absinthe and its green reflections, this alcohol seduced many artists of which Van Gogh, Baudelaire, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso, Oscar Wilde... The famous tasting ritual is still practiced according to the tradition, by pouring water on the absinthe, through a perforated spoon supporting a sugar. Absinthe is made by macerating plants (grand wormwood, petite wormwood, green anise, fennel, hyssop) in a mixture of alcohol and water, followed by distillation. It contains between 55 % and 75 % of alcohol.

Double Wheat combines two of Old Elk’s most beloved and awarded wheater whiskeys: Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey and Old Elk Wheated Bourbon Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Each spring and fall, a new edition to the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond series is released. Inspired by an original 1950's Old Fitzgerald diamond decanter, the packaging and series honor both the history of the Old Fitzgerald brand and the historic Bottled-in-Bond designation. The Old Fitzgerald line is well-known for its distilling pedigree, as the brand was first registered in 1884 and was eventually sold to "Pappy" Van Winkle during Prohibition. In 1999, Heaven Hill bought the brand and began distilling it at Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, KY. Today, in addition to our Old Fitzgerald Decanter Series, the legacy of Old Fitzgerald lives on in our other wheated Bourbons expressions: Larceny Small Batch and Larceny Barrel Proof.
