Padre Azul is the passion project of co-founder HP Eder. Eder fell in love with Mexican culture after meeting Adrian Alvarez Maxemin, a woman from Guadalajara who was studying German at a university in Heidelberg. Eder inherited a passion for distillation from his father, and his family is known for the production of high-quality Vogelbeerschnaps, a special Austrian liquor. Padre Azul was launched in 2016 by Eder and his compadres from Austria who saw a need for high-quality tequila in Europe, Eder's Mexican father-in-law playing a crucial role in the birth of the brand. The European tequila explorers set about on their quest for the perfect taste, finally discovering it at a small distillery in Amatitn, nearby the famous village of Tequila. The Austrian-Mexican brand Padre Azul premium tequila is purely handmade, with every step of production meticulously carried out by Master Distiller Jesus Partida Melendez and his fellow craftsmen. The tequila is produced at the renowned Tres Mujeres distillery in Jalisco within the central Mexican Highlands. Padre Azul tequilas are distilled from only the finest blue weber agave of the Amatitn, Lowlands, Jalisco, Mexico. Consisting of Blue Weber Agave species, they produce some of the highest quality tequila. The agave is matured for eight years before it is harvested. The pias are smoked in traditional old brick kilns at a low temperature, preventing the sugars that are released from being burned, giving the tequila a mellow aftertaste. After the pias are smoked special yeasts are used for fermentation. After distillation, Master Distiller Jesus Partida Melendez hand selects only the highest quality barrels to be bottled. This premium Reposado is their Blanco, matured in French oak barrels for at least eight months. Bottled in a bespoke vial featuring a 270-gram skull inspired by Mexico's day of the deads culture for everlasting friendship, Padre Azul Reposado has subtle flavors of vanilla, with a remarkably smooth finish.

HOW IT'S MADE

Made from 81% ABV light rum base distilled from sugar cane molasses in the US Virgin Islands, this rum is blended with natural coconut syrup and edible glitter to create the perfect spirit base for any fruity cocktail. AMBHAR Plata is an exceptionally clean, silver tequila. Made from the purest form of blue agave, it is mellowed in stainless steel tanks for up to two months and then hand-poured into the distinctive AMBHAR decanter. Aged 6 Months

Código 1530 Reposado combines the purity of our Blanco and the elegance of our aging process. Aged for six months in the finest Napa Valley Cabernet French White Oak wine barrels, Código 1530 Reposado embraces the agave-driven flavors of Los Bajos tequila, with subtle hints of many of the signature flavors found in whiskeys.

Production Notes

Our barrels are charred by hand, on-site at our private distillery in Amatitán.

We age our tequila to taste instead of time, adhering to a time-honored family aging process.

Our 7 year release of Vertical Series Rye is paired with Tiz Rye Time, son of Tiznowout and Shanon Nicole, by Majestic Warrior

Blended from just 28 barrels, this 7-year-old rye is the most limited release in the Vertical Series to date. A lively nose of caramel, orange zest, cedar, and clove move to a powerful palate of chocolate, root beer, cardamom, and tobacco.

The Vertical Series explores the true impact of age on a whiskey’s character by following a single group of MGP barrels as they mature from four to 12 years. With each vintage, the proof is set to best showcase the unique attributes of that year’s blend. This unprecedented series of annual limited releases lets whiskey lovers experience the arc of flavors throughout a nine-year journey.

Maker Notes

This is our high-rye Bourbon matured a minimum of 4 years in virgin oak barrels then finished with Aspen wood. The resul is a soft, smooth, fruity and easy drinking whiskey.

Nose: “Tutti Frutti”… bursting with tropical fruits. Apricote, passion fruit, banana and then oranges with creamy vanilla and sweet American oak. 

Dangerously enticing.

Palate: Succulent peaches, juicy grapes and thick honeydew melon with a sweet citrus and slighty tart appricot finish.

Crafthouse Classic Cocktails are made from the highest quality all-natural ingredients. They All of our ready to drink cocktails contain no artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. 

We use only exceptional spirits, collaborating with the finest producers (many of whom are our friends). You will never find malt, low-grade grain neutral spirits or unnamed “brewed alcohols” in our pre-mixed cocktails. 

Each Crafthouse Classic Cocktail is made just as it would be at a cocktail bar. We simply make them in larger batches. It is important to note that unlike many RTD’s (ready to drink) in the market, our cocktails each have their own ABV (alcohol by volume). You would never expect a Moscow Mule and an Old Fashioned to contain the same percentage alcohol, would you? 

Our cocktails in cans are not watered down. They have full and distinct flavor while still maintaining an accessible profile. Carefully curating our lineup, we worked diligently to provide something for every taste, occasion and mood. 

In alignment with our team’s individual concern for the impact on the environment, Crafthouse Cocktails strives to make sustainable decisions. We recently moved to 100% recyclable aluminum for our 200mls bottle and are introducing a new 1.75L bag-in-box option with less packaging. Cloudy Bay has built a reputation for refined, elegant Sauvignon Blanc, and the 2019 vintage is no exception despite critical harvest conditions: lower quantities to meet high quality standards.

In 2021, the overall weather pattern was cooler than 2020 with bud break later than the five-year average and bloom earlier than average. Summer brought more wind than we normally experience in Napa Valley creating a more mild overall season into fall that provided a long hang time prior to harvest. The 2021 vintage is marked by high quality fruit with exceptional color and tannin. The concentration, low yields, and small berries were reminiscent of the 2015 vintage.

Winemaker Notes

The wine was aged for sixteen months in 48% new oak (50% French, 50% American) and 52% older French and American oak barrels before bottling. The coopers included Ermitage, François Frères, Demptos (French & American), Canton (American), Dargaud Jaegle, Orion and Taransaud. The 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has classically expressive aromatics of ripe currant, tobacco, leather, pencil shavings and dark chocolate notes. A rich, fleshy wine that is full-bodied, dense and layered with dark plum, blackberry and savory spices. It is a vibrant and alive offering with acid structure and depth for long-term cellar aging.

Aged more than 4 years, the 2023 vintage of our High Proof Bourbon showcases a warm and rich nose of molasses, roasted peanuts, and caramel which leads to a dense palate of baked apricot, vanilla, and burnt sugar.
Pinhook’s High Proof Bourbon is a limited annual release comprising a small selection of our finest barrels, blended for whiskey enthusiasts and connoisseurs. In partnership with Six Columns Stable, Bourbon Resolve was purchased by Bourbon Lane Stable for $200,000. He is a well-balanced colt who really came on as a two-year-old. He stands a good bit off the ground at 16.2 hands, setting him up for a big three-year-old campaign.

This gin rested in new American oak barrels with a medium long toast  (Burgundy Style). Toasting allows the oak to impart a rich medley of aromas while adding intense complexity to our spirit.
