Freixenet Carta Nevada Brut Cava Mini 187ml

DEAU VSOP Cognac

Recent Awards: Silver Medal, 87 points, Bartender Spirits Awards (BSA) 2024

This Deau Very Superior Old Pale cognac is a harmonious blend of eaux-de-vie from the best cognac vintages of Distillerie Des Moisans. It ages for five long years in our cellars to reach optimum maturity.

Gourmet aromas of crème brule, summer fruit and dried apricot. On the palate it is rich and smooth with sweet and fruity notes like orange blossom, evolving towards oaky and spicy, drawing on walnut and nutmeg. The flattering aromas of the finish express lingering notes of dried fruit, spices, and pink peppercorns. Lovely orange-amber color.

The origins of Deau Cognac began over 300 years ago, when a young entrepreneur, Louis Deau, became a master of the cognac trade, producing exquisite cognacs in the Cognac region. The tradition of Deau Cognac is carried on today by Distillerie Des Moisans, which was founded by Roland Bru in 1962 and has been owned by the Bru Legaret family for three generations. The estate has remained independent from the large cognac houses and is currently run by the founder’s daughter, Veronique Bru Legaret who today presides over the destiny of the DEAU Cognac House. An expert in the art market, she recognizes the nobility of the brand, and its symbolic Griffin, that she has known since childhood. Three centuries after Louis Deau's first creations, she has bought back the old eaux-de-vie and preserved this treasure trove in Les Moisans.

The Moisans estate is passionate about their terroir and vineyards and gives great care to creating the wines that will become Deau Cognac. It is thanks to the land and the vines that the family history carries on. The estate is located in the Petit Champagne region of Cognac, an area renowned for its fine brandies. The main grape variety is Ugni Blanc, which yields lively, fresh wines which are ideal for making cognac. Located in a small hamlet in Sireuil (between Cognac and Angoulême), the estate includes the distillery, the aging cellars, a bottling building, and the offices – something rare enough in Cognac to be emphasized! This proximity of all the processes allows the Moisans estate to always keep careful control over the quality and customer service.

The distillery is a splendid cathedral-like building with twelve Charentais stills that continuously distill from October through March of the following year. The slow heating process of the still combined with double distillation produces eaux-de-vie of unrivalled quality. Double distillation allows the distillery to keep only the aromatic “hearts” of the eaux-de-vie, guaranteeing the high quality of the Cognac. The cellar master of Distillerie Des Moisans personally supervises the meticulous work of distillation. Through his talent and expertise, he gives Deau Cognacs the personality and characteristics that are dear to the Bru Legaret family.

The aging cellars are located on the banks of the Charentes River, in niches of limestone concentration, imparting the ideal humidity for slow and harmonious maturation.

Don Felipe Camarena's family has been distilling tequila in Jalisco since the early 19th century. After his ancestor's original distillery was destroyed and abandoned during the Mexican Revolution, Don Felipe switched gears, selling his prized blue agave to other distilleries. In 1937, he was finally able to open his own distillery, La Altea, which he passed down to his grandson, Felipe J. Camarena. The younger Felilpe was trained as a civil engineer, and many years later in 2007, Felipe followed in his father's footsteps by opening a distillery of his own: El Pandillo. At El Pandillo, Felipe has constructed a series of original machines to optimize energy use and perfect the art of tequila-making. After harvest, Felipe roasts his agaves in a stone oven equipped with steam jets the jets ensure that the agaves are cooked as evenly as possible, cutting down on cooking time and increasing yields. Next, the roasted agaves are ground and pressed in two different machines (once again ofFelipe's design) which extract sugars from the plants fibers, making everything more easily fermented into alcohol. Once distilled, the tequila is proofed with rainwater that is collected using a rooftop funnel which Felipe (unsurprisingly) installed himself. Handcrafted by Felip J. Camarena at El Pandillo, Pasote Tequilas pay tribute to the first agave distillers: the Aztecs. The Aztecs were some of the most ferocious fighters in history, and they often celebrated their victories by drinking the sacred agave plant. Pasote Reposado Tequila is aged for six months in American ex-bourbon barrels. It has a delicate, fruit-forward fragrance of peach and licorice, leading to a warming palate of peppered pineapple and vanilla. The finish is sweet, clean, and spritzed with a hint of pink grapefruit.

About the Brand

The Camarena brothers used to run the Santa Maria ranch from sunset to sunset. The only thing that could stop them was their parents call to come home for dinner.

Driven by the unbridled passion that lived in their hearts, one afternoon in the cold winters of 1976, they left the ranch without permission to ride their horses, taking them to the municipal lane of Arandas for a clandestine race of 100 rods, the young brothers looked at each other with the certainty that this day would remain engraved in their memories; with passion and enthusiasm, they set off on their horses in an unprecedented race, competing head to head….

A few meters from the end of the race, the unexpected happens, they see that the chain of the finish line is set and they know perfectly well that their end is near… Suddenly, the imposing mare «Paloma» runs to line up next to the horse «Pinto», and with the sum of their strength they manage to break the chain, saving the lives of the Camarena brothers. That moment was the motivation to follow a dream, Tequila Carrera.

Wignac Le Goupil by French Cider and Spirits 330ml

Produced in Northern France near the Belgium border, Wignac Ciders are 100% organic ciders made from table apples, cider apples and juice from wine grapes from Burgundy! The ciders have no added sugar, no added sulfites, and are naturally gluten-free.

The Wignac estate was established in 2016, when Edouard and Eliane de Merode, a brother and sister, started producing Wignac cider in the Ardennes. Many Americans remember the Ardennes as the region where major battles of WWI and WWII took place.  Edouard and Eliane want to show that the Ardennes can also be known for something beautiful too - its cider.
Located near the famous terroir of the Champagne region, Edouard and Eliane seek to reinvent and rejuvenate the image of cider and the region while maintaining the traditional making of cider on the Wignac estate. Both Edouard and Eliane grew up in the countryside surrounded by the nature, so was only natural to have their estate certified organic. And before their orchards were planted, the estate already boasted organic Angus cows.

Wignac was the name of Edouard and Eliane’s great-great grandmother, la Marquise de Wignac, from whom Edouard and Eliane inherited the Domaine du Château de Guignicourt sur Vence (Ardennes – France) The château was built in 1710 by the Wignacourt family and it has been in the family ever since – despite being seized during the French Revolution.  It was eventually given back to the family by Napolean I in the early 1800’s!

Wignac ciders are unique and unlike traditional French ciders. ‘Le Lièvre” is a mix of cider apples and table apples. “Le Goupil” is a rosé cider made of cider and table apples to which juice from wine grapes from Burgundy has been added.

Le Lievre offers aromas and flavors of a fresh apple, picked directly from the tree. Le Goupil offers delicate aromas and flavors of apples, with a hint of sweetness from the juice from wine grapes.
