The Woodford Reserve Distillery is among Kentucky's oldest and smallest bourbon distilleries. Morris, who began working at Woodford Reserve Distillery when he was just 16 years old, is one of the foremost experts in the production and maturation of bourbon and samples up to 180 unique whiskeys each day. It's about pursuing flavor through modernizing old practices, says the 55-year-old master distiller. After Prohibition, the federal government issued the Federal Alcohol Administration Act of 1935, providing guidelines for four distinctive styles of American straight whiskey: bourbon, rye, wheat, and malt. Woodford Reserve now offers all four of these unique expressions in their lineup. Inspired by post-Prohibition American whiskey guidelines this highly anticipated Woodford Reserve Wheat whiskey is influenced by historical recipes. Created by renowned Master Distiller Chris Morris, this special Woodford Reserve is distilled from 52% wheat, 20% malt, 20% corn and 8% rye.

Tasting Notes

Chianti DOCG occupies a special place in the heart - and history - of Ruffino. When Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino founded the winery in 1877, the first wine they produced was a Chianti. And it was the reputation of this wine that launched Ruffino's early success. In fact, before World War I Ruffino was the only Chianti exported from Italy to the United States, making it an ambassador to wine lovers around the world. In keeping with tradition, Chianti DOCG features a distinct Florentine bottle reminiscent of the fiasco, the straw-dressed flask in which Chianti was originally bottled. Today, Ruffino Chianti DOCG serves as a benchmark for quality and consistency. For many wine lovers worldwide, Ruffino Chianti is Chianti.

Maker Notes

Begun in 1996, Broadbent Madeira was inspired by Bartholomew Broadbent’s father, Michael Broadbent, who called Madeira his “desert island wine,” and who played a crucial role in sourcing the wines and establishing the blends. Bartholomew Broadbent, who spent more than a decade reintroducing Madeira to the U.S. market, was determined to create a line of Madeiras to compete with the best in the world.

HARVEST & VINTAGE NOTES
Sercial is the driest of the four white noble varieties of the island. Just like our Colheitas and our Single Casks, each 10 year madeira is made the old fashioned way - the Canteiro method. Canteiro is a named derived from the support beams on the ceiling of the winery. Warm air rises so Canteiro method wines are cooked by ambient temperature, naturally. Tangy fruit, roasted nuts, minerality.
