DESCRIPTION

The collection is an exhibition of the most iconic moments across the Six Decades of Bond; each decade encapsulated on its own packaging. Bringing to life the innovations and inventions of James Bond across the years, the packaging has been colour washed with one of the trending colours of the decade it represents.

DECADE I

The 1960s was a singular decade for James Bond. The debut of the suave spy icon onto the silver screen in 1962 was embodied by the inimitable Sean Connery, who went on to appear in six films across the next ten years. Resting only when George Lazenby starred in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969, Sir Sean was to roar back in triumph in 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever. 

The pack design includes sketches from Goldfinger (1964), You Only Live Twice (1967) where Little Nellie is in a combat sequence, and the dummy jet pack worn by Bond in Thunderball (1965).

ABOUT THE RELEASE

This exceptional single malt whisky has been created by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker, Kirsteen Campbell to reflect the character of James Bond. A force of nature defined by his Scottish heritage, he carries himself with modesty and humility. 

Like James Bond, the expression exudes a sense of style and maturity which has evolved over the years. The whisky is consistent within all six bottles.

NOSE: Fresh and vibrant notes of lemon and lime, a sprinkle of sherbet, leading into a sweet vanilla and coconut, with a hint of dried fig and raisin.

PALATE: Orange zest and fizzy sherbet with a lemon freshness, gentle oak and subtle ginger spice, leading into a deep dark chocolate, figs and baked apple tart with a honey drizzle.

FINISH: Sweet and long with complexed layers.

THE BOND ARCHIVE

The distinct range tells the story of innovation over 60 years and the pioneering character attributes of James Bond and The Macallan. Bond is a modern innovator and man of perennial evolution. The Bond films have become closely associated with ingenious 007 gadgets that are used on Bond’s mission to deliver for the greater good; and have become a hallmark of the franchise’s popularity. 

Decade I explores the Bond innovations and archives of the 1960s. The pack design features exclusive original sketches including the Little Nellie combat sequence storyboard from You Only Live Twice (1967), the Interior Fort Knox Set Concept and Laser Room set design from Goldfinger (1964), and a technical drawing of the dummy jet pack worn by Bond in Thunderball (1965). The working prototype of the jet pack worn by Bond for Thunderball,  ‘Bell Rocket Belt’ was used in the opening title’s flying sequences, flown by test pilot Bill Suitor, and the Bond art department created an exact replica for Connery to wear.

A 6 month accelerated-aged Kentucky Bourbon.

WBW has a unique flavor with a light front end of Cabernet berries with a smooth bourbon middle and a long-lasting Carmel finish on the back of the mouth.

The mash was made in Kentucky, then sent in barrels to a manufacturer to accelerate the aging process by using ultrasonic waves (more Bourbon to stave contact). The Bourbon was then finished at our San Diego distillery in French Oak Cabernet wine barrels used to make Charles Woodson's Napa Valley wine.

Far Niente Chardonnay is a blend of superlative Napa Valley vineyards located in Coombsville, a cool growing region nestled in the rolling countryside and protected by the hills east of the city of Napa. Coombsville offers the characteristic climate of Carneros, with less wind, along with deeper, well-drained gravelly loam and volcanic ash soils. The combination of these spectacular vineyards results in the subtle, tropical flavors, complex aromas, and uncommon richness that have long been associated with Far Niente Chardonnay.

TASTING NOTES

Bright and lively, the 2021 vintage opens with aromas of lemon zest, kumquat, toasted almonds, a hint of wet stone and flint, and light fresh-cut herbs. This wine immediately enchants with a silky entry and vibrant flavors of grilled citrus, light green melon, and toasted oak that expand across the mid-palate all the way until the finish

Winemaker Notes
Our winemakers wanted to craft a wine that possessed everything they loved about Merlot, only more: more rich fruit flavors, more cocoa accents, a more voluptuous mouthfeel. They selected grapes from premier vineyards in California’s Central Coast and North Coast appellations, known for producing grapes with exceptionally rich flavors and aromas. Finally, they fermented the wine on French and American oak to round out the flavors and mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes
Lavish is a luxurious, over the top expression of Merlot, offering a truly sensual experience. From its deep ruby red color and its alluring blueberry cordial fragrance, Lavish promises to be much more than a typical Merlot. On the palate, seamlessly integrated flavors of rich, ripe blueberries and juicy black plums flirt recklessly with dark cocoa and sensual vanilla notes before being swept up in a smooth, chocolaty finish. It’s full-bodied with a soft, round mouthfeel—a uniquely rich, extraordinarily lavish Merlot.

A blend of Kentucky Bourbon with Stone Fruit & Cinnamon brings a delightful balance of sweet and spice to your cocktail creation - or, for many, the perfect flask whiskey.  The Spicy version adds a Thai Chili Pepper to the profile and is produced on a limited-run series. The history of spiced whiskies date back to the earliest days of Kentucky distilling and this Stone Fruit interpretation has won accolades in numerous international tasting competitions include the Consumer Choice Award at SIP and 2x “Most Innovative New Whiskey” in London and New York.

Greenhook Ginsmiths craft their gin in a custom-made, copper pot still, designed to work under a high-pressure vacuum. This allows for distillation at a lower temperature, drawing out key flavors from being overcooked. Producing gin this way lets the botanicals shine through for a more aromatic vibrant gin.

Maker Notes

Our 95% rye whiskey is lighter than many other rye whiskies but still has all the characteristics associated with a rye. Eclipse is finished for two years in barrels that previously held rum. 

Aged a minimum of 4 years in a virgin oak barrel and ex-rum cask.

Nose: A big beautiful nose – wood shavings, freshly cut pine. All the baking spices – nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon. And so much more… 

Palate: Baked apple. Citris and sweet spice with a long creamy vanilla and a warming orange sorbet finish.

A cask strength whiskey, great at full proof or enjoyed with a splash of spring water.

True Cask Bourbon embodies attention to detail at every level of production from distillation, mash bill, yeast, fermentation, and cooperage, to the final small batch blend of uncut straight from the barrel whiskey. Individually batch numbered to capture the purity of flavors each cask strength barrel provides to each blend.

Tasting Note

On the nose: Subtle citrus aroma of bergamot and a slight but sweet touch of cherry blossom.
On the palate: Touch of santal wood at the start, closing with a hint of sweet ripe mango.
Finish: A velvety and salted texture before a small cinnamon touch takes over.

CASK TYPE

Aberfeldy 16 is matured in first-fill, re-fill and re-char Bourbon casks and then finished for six months in deluxe first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.

TASTING NOTES

Exhaling honey, citrus, and spicy cloves.

Sherried and full like fruitcake, then dabs of rich dark chocolate and a soothingly rich, mouth-coating finish.

Rum: Ron del Barrilito Calidad Extra 2 Star

Grassy and spicy are the most prominent flavors in this rum. The full taste suggests spices and other flavors that change as you enjoy it. Can be sipped or mixed.

Detailed Description

Ron del Barrilito 2 Star rum is first blended and then aged for at least 3 years. The rum has been produced in Bayamn Puerto Rico since 1804 by the Fernndez family, making it the oldest rum manufacturer in Puerto Rico. In 1942 a single barrel of Ron del Barrilito rum was set aside called the 'Freedom Barrel.' The barrel will be opened in Bayamn town square for all to share when Puerto Rico gains its independence.

Nose: Aromas of plums, almonds, apricot, and vanilla.

Palate: Subtle smoky, woody notes. Caramelized fruit and sugar cane.

Distillery Information

Founded in the 1797 Hacienda Santa Ana, home of the renowned Ron del Barrilito Two and Three Stars, Edmundo B. Fernandez, Inc. announced the worldwide launch in the coming weeks of Ron del Barrilito Five Stars. This is the first collectible edition of rum presented by Ron del Barrilito in more than 138 years, establishing a new era of the supreme quality of Puerto Rican rums.

On the Rocks Premium Cocktails was launched in 2016 by Andrew Gill, Patrick Halbert, and Rocco Milano in Dallas, Texas with the idea to bring the cocktail bar experience into the comfort of your home. They produce premium craft ready-to-drink cocktails using the finest natural ingredients and proper spirits. Their aim is to bring the whole experience of having a consistently perfect cocktail, without the need for multiple ingredients and equipment, and without sacrificing taste. No preservatives are added and the range is sweetened with cane sugar only. After securing several partnership deals with airlines and hotels that recognized the quality of the product the list includes Four Seasons, Hyatt, Hilton, and Hawaiian Airlines the company took off in a big way. "My focus was to create bar-quality cocktails that had balance and subtlety of character making cocktails that have layers of complexity rather than being overly sweet, boozy, or otherwise.
