An artisanal blend of Espadín and Cuishe agave mezcales, aged to perfection in American oak casks, then meticulously filtered for unprecedented smoothness.

Born from fire and oak, Creyente Cristalino Añejo begins its journey in the mineral-rich soils of the Valles Centrales and Sierra Sur regions of Oaxaca, Mexico. Only the finest Espadín and Cuishe agaves are handpicked at peak maturity, before being cooked in underground pit ovens using traditional methods. The perfectly roasted agave hearts are then crushed through the centuries-old custom of a using a tahona stone wheel. Following fermentation and a double distillation in copper pot stills, the resulting liquid is aged in new American oak casks for added complexity and exquisite taste. Prior to bottling, our artisanal mezcal undergoes a unique and proprietary filtration process, resulting in a final product of impeccable clarity and incomparable smoothness. Creyente Cristalino Añejo reveals soft hints of smoke that gently mingle alongside sweet undertones of fresh citrus, herbs, and spice. At 307.2 PPM, 15.3 is complex, robust and bursting with character. Formidable smoke is countered by ripe fruit from its patient distillation, showcasing both incomparable flavour and provenance. Kissed by salty sea spray, the homegrown Islay barley imparts not only malty sweetness but evokes a true sense of place.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Golden Syrup

Nose: Smoked cinder toffee, rich malted Islay barley sugar and honey come to the fore, balanced with fresh citrus. Dried fruit and crushed seashells mingle with Octomore’s heady peat smoke, with cloves, toasted nuts and a hint of coconut adding depth and complexity. Butterscotch, brown sugar and warm bread pave the way for the cereal-forward single malt whisky.

Palate: High strength yet exceptionally soft in texture, Octomore 15.3 is unmistakably rounded and viscous. Butterscotch and creamy vanilla enhance its smooth character, punctuated with dried fruit and sweet orange zest. Toasted oak and locally grown barley sugar are underpinned with waves of dry smoke.

Finish: Burnt sugar, coconut, and delicate sea spray linger on the finish, with the lasting impression of earthy peat smoke forcing you to come back for more.

Distilled from the same batch of Scottish grown barley and also malted to 108.2 PPM, the 15.2 uses a robust combination of second fill wine and second fill bourbon casks, with the spirit finished in first fill Cognac casks. This unique trifecta adds layers of intrigue, resulting in a complex yet exceedingly elegant single malt Scotch whisky. Hints of nutmeg, toasted oak and caramel add smoothness to the palate, with the delicate floral character of Octomore coming to the fore.

TASTING NOTES

Color: Hebridean Sand

Nose: Sweet citrus, lime zest and lemon meringue pie open on the nose, followed by toasted oak and a hint of earthy smoke. A medley of tropical fruit enhances the vibrancy of the single malt whisky, balanced with woody spices, smoked honey, toasted bread, and roasted coffee.

Palate: Viscous in texture, the sumptuously smooth spirit brings vanilla custard, caramel, toffee and a crack of black pepper. Charred oak, cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg provide added depth with pear drops and dried apricot cutting through Octomore’s inimitable peat smoke.

Finish: An unmistakable maritime quality lands on a finish, with waves of salt spray settling on the palate while peat embers linger.

Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky

In 1895, Masataka Taketsuru the father of Japanese Whisky was born in the small town of Takehara, Japan. At the time, Masataka's family owned a sake brewery, and in preparing to carry on the family trade, Masataka studied chemistry and biology at Osaka Technical High School. After graduating high school, Masataka showed more interest in whisky than in sake and in 1918, he enrolled at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, becoming the first Japanese ever to study the art of whisky-making. While in Scotland, Masataka took chemistry courses during the day while apprenticing at distilleries at night, learning to distill and blend whisky first-hand at some of Scotland's most prestigious distilleries. In 1920, Masataka returned to Japan, and within the decade, had produced the country's first single malt whisky. In 1934, Masataka moved to the town of Yoichi and opened the doors to Nikka Whisky Co. In 1960, as the Yoichi Distillery was reaching capacity, Masataka began searching for another suitable location in Japan to open a second distillery. Following a three-year search, Masataka found a wide forest valley at the junction of the Hirosegawa and Nikkawagawa rivers. The localized humidity from the rivers and surrounding hills, together with the quality of water from Nikkawagawa River, created the perfect location for a second distillery, which he named Miyagikyo. Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky is a whisky meticulously crafted at the Miyagikyo Distillery. Once the grains arrive at the distillery, they are milled and mashed before being distilled through copper-pot stills that were imported from Scotland in 1963. As a result of their age and shape, the stills produce a whisky that is more flavorful and complex than modern column stills. Following distillation, the whisky is matured in traditional oak casks. Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky has an aroma of tropical fruits, bananas and papaya. The aroma gives way to notes of soft vanilla, caramel, wafers and dried fruit on the palate, and leads to a finish accented by notes of citrus. The whisky earned a score of 93 points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge in 2014, which named it Japanese Whisky of the Year.
