A premium bourbon whiskey that is handcrafted in Newport, Kentucky. The distillery is owned by Ken Lewis, who is a former owner of The Party Source, one of the largest liquor retailers in the United States. New Riff's focus is on creating high-quality, authentic bourbon using traditional techniques and ingredients.

This particular expression is a single barrel bourbon, meaning that each bottle comes from a single barrel that has been carefully selected and aged for a minimum of four years. The barrels used are made from new charred oak, which imparts rich flavors and aromas to the whiskey.

New Riff Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has a deep amber color and a complex flavor profile. On the nose, there are notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak, as well as hints of cinnamon and clove. Featuring a unique mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted rye, it represents a new riff on our hallowed local Rye whiskey traditions. Aged four years in full-size 53-gallon toasted and charred new oak barrels, there are no shortcuts taken in its traditional production. All New Riff whiskeys are made with the full sour mash Kentucky Regimen; all carry an age statement and are always bottled without chill filtration.

Our distillers learned the black arts of the hardest whiskey in the world to make - the famed 95% Rye - under the direct tutelage of the distiller who mastered it in Indiana, Larry Ebersold of Seagram’s. Taking Master Larry’s instruction in hand, we put a riff on it to the tune of adding 5% malted rye, a unique twist that aids in pulling additional flavors out of the rye and adds a touch of the elegance of malted rye. New Riff Rye is splendid with a splash of water, and of course folds magnificently into classic Rye Manhattan and .

A special edition of Indian single malt from the sunny Goan coasts, the Oloroso is a sensational explosion of incredible flavours. With dark mahogany hues, this exquisite expression presents an aromatic tapestry of sherry influenced fragrances of peach and apricot with a light note of molassess and blood orange. Sublimely finished in Oloroso casks, its soft flavours are filed with a nutty chocolate and Melton Hunt cake. The long finish is intense and sweet with delicious heavy spices imbibed from the Oloroso casks and melded with a dash of coffee mocha and sumptuous dark chocolate.

Founded in 1952, the Kumesen Syuzo Distilling Co began distilling spirits made from Long Grain Indica Rice and fermented with native Black Koji. By 1989 Kumesen began to finish their product in Bourbon casks and Kujira was born. Kujira Ryukyu Whisky 25 Year is a premium Japanese whisky that has gained a reputation for its exceptional quality and unique flavor profile. It is produced by the Helios Distillery, which is located on the southern island of Okinawa in Japan. The Kujira Ryukyu Whisky 25 Year is made from a blend of rare, aged whiskies that have been matured for at least 25 years in carefully selected oak casks. The aging process is a critical aspect of the production process and is carefully monitored to ensure that the whisky achieves the perfect balance of flavor and aroma.

There’s something a bit magical in the way spirits are made.  Sure, most of it’s science, different boiling points allowing ethanol to be separated from water. Cumberland Falls Kentucky Straight Bourbon is named after a unique and scenic landmark of the state of Kentucky. The Bourbon of Cumberland Falls honors its remarkable beauty and native spirit. An astonishing feature of the site is the moonbow, a lunar rainbow that is visible when there is a full moon.

In our attempt to find the finest whiskey, we found ourselves in awe of the breathtakingly scenery of the moonbow, over the mighty waterfall of the Cumberland River.

Some time after we discovered our perfect bourbon, we were excited to travel there once again, to experience the beautiful view, with a glass of whiskey in a hand and the success of our adventure. It was at that point that we made the decision to name the bourbon after the majestic Cumberland Falls.

We would like to celebrate the creation of our first premium Kentucky Straight Bourbon with everyone who value heritage, honors spirit and appreciate the finest authentic bourbons.

TASTING NOTES

COLOR: Beautiful medium to dark amber bordering on copper.

NOSE: Lemon, pine, and faint allspice, minimal notes of char gives way to banana and summer fruits. Almost no alcohol on the nose. Oak is as minimal on the nose as it is on the palate.

PALATE: Vanilla overlays all of the rye spice, which follows the young, new, lightly charred oak. Hints of alcohol accompany the short creamy vanilla finish.

Loch Gorm is the name given to our annual sherry matured limited edition.  Named after Islay’s largest freshwater loch neighbouring the distillery, the dark murky colour of the loch’s water is reflected in the rich coppery tones of our sherry matured Loch Gorm release.

International Spirits Challenge – Gold

For the 2023 Edition Anthony and Robin selected a total of 22 casks, 8 distilled in 2013, 6 distilled in 2014, and 8 distilled in 2015.

NOSE: Hints of cacao with an essence of leather, black cherry and light smoke.

PALATE: Roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate and roasted dark fruits give way to light ashy peat smoke.

FINISH: Balanced and long with fresh Islay sea breeze.

OLOROSO SHERRY CASKS

Loch Gorm is exclusively matured in oloroso sherry casks from the renowned bodega, Jose Miguel Martin. It is common for distilleries to use a variety of sherry producers but for our consistent quality and character, it is vital that we source them all from just one bodega. We select a combination of sherry butts and hogsheads from Jose Miguel Martin that provides two separate styles of maturation.

These ex-oloroso sherry casks impart a combination of heavy sherry notes, spicy dark chocolate, rich fruits and burnt sugar. This balances beautifully with the Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus fruits found within our farm crafted spirit.

Time, combined with the distiller's skills, has worked its magic. Three ingredients - water, malted barley, and yeast - have come together to create something new, crafted on The Clydeside. Stobcross, the road where the journey began.

In 2017, Tim Morrison fulfilled his lifelong aspiration of reviving the art of distilling Single Malt Whisky in Glasgow by opening The Clydeside Distillery. This endeavor also involved the restoration of the dock constructed by his great-grandfather. On October 15, 2021, The Clydeside Distillery proudly unveiled its inaugural Single Malt Whisky.

The historic name of Stobcross originated from an ancient cross that once marked the path to Dumbarton Rock. Along this road in the 1600s, the Anderson family constructed a magnificent mansion known as Stobcross House. Later, they went on to develop the prosperous weaving village of Anderston. Over time, as the River Clyde witnessed industrial growth in 1875, Stobcross House was dismantled to make room for the Queen's Dock, which became the thriving hub of Glasgow's renowned global maritime trade.

This Clydeside Single Malt Whisky is produced using clear water from Loch Katrine, 100% Scottish barley and then matured in the finest Oak casks.

Aged more than 4 years, the 2023 vintage of our High Proof Bourbon showcases a warm and rich nose of molasses, roasted peanuts, and caramel which leads to a dense palate of baked apricot, vanilla, and burnt sugar.
Pinhook’s High Proof Bourbon is a limited annual release comprising a small selection of our finest barrels, blended for whiskey enthusiasts and connoisseurs. It’s bottled close to or at cask strength, at a proof chosen to maximize complex flavors and integrate them with the alcohol for a long and balanced finish.

Our 2023 Bourbon is paired with Bourbon Resolve, by Hard Spun out of the mare All Mettle, by Touch Gold.

In partnership with Six Columns Stable, Bourbon Resolve was purchased by Bourbon Lane Stable for $200,000. He is a well-balanced colt who really came on as a two-year-old. He stands a good bit off the ground at 16.2 hands, setting him up for a big three-year-old campaign.
