To mark its 20th birthday, and to celebrate America's influence on Scotch whisky more broadly, we have brought The Peat Monster back to where it all began. We originally created a peaty whisky called Monster for the Goldstein family at Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York City, in 2003. It turned out to be so popular that we created a new batch, renamed it The Peat Monster and it joined our core range. The Peat Monster - like most Scotch whiskies – owes its maturation vessels to the US whisk(e)y industry and its practice of using casks only once.

Pokeno Discovery celebrates our unique place in the world. First we carefully select and blend parcels of stock which have been fully matured in first fill bourbon, Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez Casks. We then lay these back down in cask to allow them to marry perfectly together. It is a rich and complex whisky, with beautiful notes of dark chocolate, black forest gateau, ripe cherries and sweet citrus, giving way to a rich, smooth and incredibly long finish.

New Zealand Single Malt Whisky | First Fill Bourbon and Sherry Casks

This is the newest release in our Reserve Series line for Spring 2023. Our craft requires careful aging and thoughtful blending, and this 8-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey embodies the power of both. After aging our rye in new charred American white oak barrels for at least 8 years, our distillers crafted this complex rye with notes of dried cherries, clove, and smoked vanilla on the nose. A perfect balance of sweet and spice, this rye whiskey has a bold palate with flavors of candied ginger, sweet orange, molasses, and nut brittle.

This bottle had an original release in 2021 which earned a Gold Medal from the ASCOT Awards and a Double Gold from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

What sets Lucky Seven The Frenchman Single Barrel Select apart from other bourbons is its unique finishing process. After the bourbon has aged for seven years in the charred oak barrels, it is transferred to French oak barrels that were previously used to age red wine. This finishing process imparts subtle fruit and floral notes to the bourbon, adding to its complexity and depth of flavor.

Each bottle of Lucky Seven The Frenchman Single Barrel Select is hand-selected by the master distiller and is bottled at cask strength, meaning it is not diluted with water before bottling. This results in a higher alcohol content, typically around 60% ABV, which makes it a bold and powerful bourbon.

The Phoenix Blend is the first release in a series of limited time small batch offerings. The Phoenix Blend mouthfeel is viscous with notes of caramel and vanilla on the front, moving to bright ripe red fruit in the middle, and finishing with a mild peppery spice.

Much like the Paul John Select Cask Peated. This Single Malt astonishes even a seasoned whisky aficionado. Unexpected flavours balance each other, offering the perfect tipple. It is a wholesome Goan experience, packed into every sip.

Nose: The smoky, sweet and earthy fragrances have mellow resonances of spice.

Palate: As the crisp Muscovado and Demerara sugars create layered nuances, the smokiness of the Single Malt sets in, creating a perfect balance. A hint of spice radiates from the hickory and Dominican-style cocoa.

Finish: The delicate finish of this Single Malt has notes of Dominican cocoa laced with the tart edge of marmalade.

Color: Golden mahogany.

Pairing: This extremely complex whisky needs food that can complement it well. Tender, juicy steaks and blue cheese can help you unravel every nuance of this magnificent malt from Goa.

Marko Karakasevic, the 13th generation Master Distiller, created the Wolves' Malted Barley Series in 2011 with the first 12 barrels, followed by 12 more lots of 8-12 barrels. Each lot was distilled over 10 days in a small, copper pot still from Cognac, France, producing a rich, thick distillate. The series is unique, with variations in barley sources, yeasts, and maltings. The barrels, sourced from top cooperages in Napa Valley, were toasted and charred in six different levels, resulting in noticeable differences across each lot. Each bottle is hand-wrapped in a sheepskin label and numbered by hand in Los Angeles.

DESCRIPTION

The BLACKENED Master Blender Exclusive Batch 112 is Master Distiller & Blender Rob Dietrich’s signature BLACKENED release! A super-premium blend of Rob’s carefully selected straight bourbons and ryes with an average of 8+ years, finished in black brandy casks. This batch features Rob’s own curated Metallica playlist used in the proprietary BLACK NOISE sonic-enhancement process. Oh…and it’s cask strength!

TASTING NOTES

Burnt caramel, oak and honey on the nose, with honey, cinnamon, allspice, dark fruit, clove and mint filling the palate. The finish is long and smooth, slightly creamy with hints of butterscotch taffy, maple and honey.

ACCOLADES: 91 Points / Whisky Advocate 2021

Loads of rich caramel and toffee up front on the nose. Leather and pipe tobacco add an earthiness, while cinnamon and clove balance it out with some spice. Hints of toasted oak and aspen round out the nose. The palate is viscous, with the clove, toffee, tobacco, and toasted oak at the forefront. There is a warming black pepper note with the return of the caramel for the long, pleasant finish. This is an assertive and spice forward rye, and yet somehow, at the same, a soft and sweet rye.

“Dancing Daughters” was the nickname given to the fierce and unapologetic women of the 1920's who challenged societal norms. Though the passage of the 19th Amendment finally gave women the right to vote, women's rights were still limited. The Dancing Daughters, though, rejected those limitations. They entered the workforce, drove cars, and attended jazz clubs by night. 

So why powerful women? Because we know that inside each Dancing Daughters’ drinker is a strong, independent woman who loves her whiskey just as much as the men do. 

This spirit honors their fighting spirit and says, "Cheers" to those brave enough, like The Dancing Daughters, to fight for equality for all.

Distilled from 100% malted barley, grown in Colorado and the surrounding states, and malted in Golden, Colorado. It is mashed, fermented, distilled at Golden Moon distillery, and aged in New American Oak casks. It is then bottled at 46% ABV (92 Proof). Golden Moon Principium is a uniquely Colorado Whiskey. Golden Moon Principium has a warm, sweet and malty nose characteristic. Great malt character on the palate, with a nice sweetness, caramel notes, and a spiciness on the finish.

Colin and his family have deep ties to the Distillery, having worked here for over three decades. The Innkeeper’s Blend is the second small batch blend in the brand’s Icon Series. The Innkeeper’s Blend pays homage to the Dedman family’s century-plus history in the hospitality industry, as previous owners of the famed Beaumont Inn on Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail. The Innkeeper’s Blend mouthfeel is viscous and rich, moving from caramel sweetness on the front, to ripe red fruit in the middle, finishing with a light, peppery spice.

From The Brand

At Springbank we pride ourselves on producing a single malt that is made entirely in-house, employing traditional skills that have been passed down from one generation to the next. Produced since 1828, Springbank Single Malts are lightly peated in our kiln and distilled 2.5 times.

An annual release, our most recent edition of the 25 year old was bottled in December 2022, with only 1400 bottles of the highly sought-after release available.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A sweet, inviting introduction to this dram, there are notes of caramel and millionaire shortbread, dried pineapple and honeydew melon.

Palate: The palate is gentle and refined with a smooth, buttery feel. There are touches of gingerbread and liquorice, along with a note of coffee grounds hinting at a slight woody element

Finish: The emergence of peat smoke in the finish rounds off this dram.
